Was about to purchase 3kg last night and was coming up around £22 delivered with the code LATE, held off and another day another offer from them!!!
Today theres a deal on upto 50% off protein powders, this is included, so it almost halfs the price, and my code was still in basket so it applied that also. shame about the £1.99 delivery but im sure if you added more you could get round that

Great deal OP! Heat!
Just to clarify, as it doesn't state in the post, the code is Weight50

Is everyone else on a diet here like me :innocent: Never tried this stuff, is it like slim fast because that's disgusting.

No, not at all. Slimfast is meal replacement, this is a training aid for those adding muscle whilst being concious about carb consumption

Ok thanks for clarifying the CODE... i simply clicked through my email... the price was good enough for me to checkout!!
Strawberry Cream is brilliant, i mix it with part water part milk, but just water is tasty enough by itself. I would say as tasty as a instant milkshake type drink.

can you use it as a meal supplement like slim fast what flavours are good any recommendation going to start working out in the new year this will be good

17 Dec 151#15
I personally wouldn't use it as a meal replacement. These powders are suppliments to a proper diet. Don't want to sound like I'm preaching, but meal replacements are a really bad idea for weight loss. :man:

Thanks but the issue is eating to much  so Iam thinking instead of eating junk or overeating having this will fill me up so I wont need to snack? Eating smaller meals and having this as a boost? Advice is greatly appreciated thanks

It does. Love the MyProtein stuff but the diet stuff is rank. Totally different consistency, oh and it's actually more calories than the non-diet version.

Not the point, the diet part comes from the green tea extract.
IIRC its also got more carbs and fats than the impact whey.
Bossworld
17 Dec 15#25
I think the logic is that the diet version has more carbs to leave you feeling fuller for longer.
I have one three times a week as a breakfast substitute (do spinning/abs three times a week before work) and it usually keeps me going for 3/4 hours.
Not so much this morning where I did spinning/abs at 6:15, shake before work at 7:50, then a bacon and hash brown sarnie at 10am lol

17 Dec 15#26
Whole point of the diet version is to keep your hunger at bay e.g reduce appetite

Yep its not the best on the market, but perfect for my use.. I make my own post workout shakes (banana, milk , greek yogurt, peanut butter, honey and berries) and add half the recommended amount just to up the protein content..
Ordered 6kg for £26 ish........... so £4 and a bit quid a KG ,,,,,,,,thats 2016 sorted

17 Dec 15#33
It is what it is..............ignore the diet stuff etc, at the end of the day its a decent enough protein shake for silly money..................
Another poster mentioned mixing problems, I have found its fine either in a blender or just a shake bottle.......tastes good to me , but then again I was using stuff 25 years ago that was truly vile.............:disappointed:
comicmankev
17 Dec 151#34
I had to have it with milk :-)
This stuff generally isn't like other proteins. It wont generally be as nice either! (All in my own opinion I might add). But you get used to it! Also, it doesn't mix well at all! I blend mine and drink it up fast. The bonus of this protein is it doesn't have quite as much rubbish in it like some of the others do. If you compare ingredients to PHD you might be surprised. PHD is sooo much nicer though, so it depends where your loyalties are!!
Teasy
17 Dec 152#35
Great price, though the one thing I would say is these protein powders do have a very low protein to calories/fat/sugar ratio when compared to a high quality protein powder. 3k bag provides:
1830 grams protein
216 grams fat
93 grams saturated fat
117 grams sugar
11.1 grams salt
10,980 calories (6697 calories from protein)
While a 2.5k bag of Whey Isolate from the same website contains:
2300 grams protein
32.5 grams fat
20 grams saturated fat
0 grams Sugar
12.75 grams salt
9675 calories (8901 calories from protein)
I think there's currently 35% off the Whey Isolate, still more expensive but far better nutritionally.
mfactor to Teasy
17 Dec 15#36
Agree... but if you can live with the higher fat/sugar/carb content its the cheapest (IIRC) per gram of protein, somebody did the calculations the last time this was on offer........

17 Dec 151#43
Just think of this as a cheap dose of protein and nothing more or less. The "fat-burners" are just marketing, they hardly make a difference. At the end of the day, your protein intake should be mostly from your diet, there's no need to obsess over the figures of one shake.
DarkReborn11
17 Dec 15#44
I'm looking for just protein to add to my diet, I'm also skinny looking to gain a little extra muscle mass and hopefully improve my appetite. I should avoid this and go for normal protein whey?
J10wilshere to DarkReborn11
17 Dec 151#46
Protein is protein, whether you get it from food or powder you will still get the same results given that you are working your **** off on a well structured training program and getting enough food and rest. You have to be patient as well because it takes time and consistency to change your body for the good.
yrreb88 to DarkReborn11
17 Dec 15#50
A protein shake isn't a magic muscle building elixir and increasing your intake of protein doesn't really mean you'll get bigger muscles. Why do you need extra protein? It's quite hard in this day and age to have a protein deficiency. To gain weight and muscle, you need to be eating more calories and ensuring you have an adequate amount of protein whilst having a decent exercise regime.
If you have trouble with appetite, a calorie dense "weight gain" shake might help calorie-wise but I wouldn't think it's a long-term solution so I'd recommend discussing any concerns with your GP.
lukeo44
17 Dec 15#45
Strange, i've just tried it a third time to be sure and its ok when following the OPs link, are you using code Weight50?
mfactor
17 Dec 15#47
Opinions differ over how much protein to take in one sitting , but I use one scoop instead of the recommended 2 scoops per serving, which still gives 17 grams of protein and cuts the fat and carbs down to almost nothing, if you then mix with milk or almond/soya milk it bangs it back up to about 30 grams...........
mfactor

Ofcourse its not but you body needs protein anyway to function and if your working out, am I right in saying you need extra protein that would have otherwise been used by your body?
I'm currently taking whey protein but I don't take it everyday or take half amount, 3 quarters, depends if i eat chicken for example. Its a 900g tub and has lasted me 2 months so far, naturally derived protein food is always better, I get it. Don't know why I ordered 6kg  though the protein per scoop is a little less than my current one.
Also have fast metabolism and bought a weight gainer which was a huge mistake. Meant to take 3 scoops a day and only been taking 1 scoop before I got the runs and feeling bloated for weeks. Should throw it away but instead of wasting it, I sprinkle a tiny amount with the protein mix to eventually finish it off.

Ah sorry, you came across as if you weren't sure what you were doing so just ignore what I said.
Yes, you do need to up your protein intake, source isn't hugely important as long as you have a varied and balanced diet, to help ensure optimum growth and repair. If you're following a regime, the slight differences between these impact shakes shouldn't make too much difference so you can enjoy the bargain.
Try having one everyday if you can as it'll increase your calorie intake slightly which may be holding you back if you have a fast metabolism. Keep pushing yourself as it sounds like you've been doing and your body will eventually respond.

Would this be ideal to use with a program like insanity? I'd like to lose around a stone for a holiday in 2 months. Would just like to tone up for the time being. I tried insanity before but didn't use any protein and the muscle pain was too much lol they took forever to repair
Cenobite to seanieb87
17 Dec 15#74
If you're trying to lose weight, I wouldn't bother with protein. Unfortunately nothing gets rid of the muscle pain other than consistency. Your muscles are sore due to you doing things you're not used to. Your body will adjust & that will reduce the dreaded doms. Good luck with the weight loss. Insanity looks good
