i.e That motherboard only supports RAM to 2133 - whilst this is 2400 - so will it run ok?

I am still trying to decide on a z170 MOBO, but can't seem to decide on one.
Currently sitting on the idea of getting the Asus z170-a

Thanks for the replies and deals
I have so many questions to come....please bare with.
Not going to overclock or fiddle with setup. Not really into FPS anymore, love Fallout 4, Skyrim and GTA as I like to roam around and do my own thing. The most money is going to the gaming part of this build but the design software is actually more important - Priorities! :man:

Unlocked is fine if you are going to use it, otherwise it's just chucking money away.
OC'ing can be fun but it's an expensive business. You will need a fancy cooler and motherboard if you want to do it properly and safely and the results aren't usually that beneficial in real terms. Maybe a few extra FPS in games (around 3-5fps) or slightly fast video processing/decryption. Get it wrong and it can cause huge stability issues as well.

Nice. I ordered 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance LPX from Amazon yesterday but I think I might cancel it and get this instead.
EDIT: OK I've opted for this instead since double the memory for an extra £17 seems like a good proposition. Hopefully it will be OK because I've had mixed experiences with Ebuyer in the past.

I haven't looked into that yet, I have used my previous cooler master case and psu to keep costs down, think I am upto £380 at the mo with a 480gb ssd aswell. Don't really want to go over 150 for a card though as I don't really play high end games anyway, more into strategy.

I went for i5 6600 from amazon last week for £155 and already have a z170 msi pro board...overkill for the cpu but it came up at a good price, just gaming and office work though

What graphics card do you have? I'm looking at the splashing out on Zotac GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB AMP!

Gonna bore everyone to tears this coming month, but building my first rig as parts appear (true story).
So far:
1. SanDisk Ultra II SSD 240 GB Sata III 2.5-inch Internal SSD up to 550 MB/s
2. HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) 2400MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL15 1.2V Memory
Building (to future proof as much as possible) for Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, Gaming.
Not sure if I should go Skylake i5 or i7. Unlocked or locked.
Eyeing up this Pcpartspicker build by Philip as by base idea as I'm a little clueless. Wanting to keep my budget around £1000-£1500.
Also going to splash out for a monitor/s, so far looking at PHILIPS Brilliance BDM4065UC Ultra HD 40" LED Monitor. Needs to work well with PS4 as well (until I fully transition to PC gaming).

I was looking at these recently, the cheapest place PCPartPicker could find them was at £75.98 and that was for the DDR4 - 2133

Anyway, it's mostly irrelevant. If you're buying DDR4 RAM it's because that's what your motherboard requires.
