Looking at this deal. I see it for £240 upfront. But when I look at the airtime deal a 24 month contract is implied. Therefore how can I cancel it early and where is this in the terms and conditions.
Thanks

I bought this but o2 are saying I can't cancel the air time and will need to send the phone bk. Anyone had this issue?

Not bad, but, this phone deserves a slow death. Get the G4, much better.

When you click show more tariffs and go for 3GB data £109.99 upfront cost, monthly device payment will be £5 a month so total cost £229.99
Not sure if OP posted best deal for M9

Hey folks, could some give me an idiots guide to the procedure to get this for 240 please. which tariff do i select, and when/how should i pay for the phone and cancel the airtime? Ive been after a M9 , purely because its the only flagship with a semi decent cam and a MicroSD card slot.

Worst phone that I have ever owned. Awful.
Wouldn't recommend anyone paying more than £140 for it....avoid.

What a really useful and inciteful comment you make. I love the way for example you have shared with us the other phones you have had for comparison. The list of weaknesses in your review is of great help to us all. I especially enjoyed your comparison of other phones at the £140 price point. Maybe it's the only phone you ever had? (Sent from my M8 - one of the best phones I have ever owned)

what's uncertain ? o2 refresh clearly state yoy can cancel the airtime part of the plan without any penalty. I did the z3 compact refurb paid the £120 straight away .. got it unlocked and cancelled the airtime all within 3 days easy !!!

the m9 has quite underwhelming reviews.. weakest of the current crop of flagships IMO

I agree, might as well get a m8. Getting new sense and marshmallow soon too.

You're confusing value for money with resale value. I'm not buying a phone on the basis of what I can sell it for.

really good deal i got my m8 like this I did too also have problems with the canceling I paid the phone off in full then was trying to get charged more for the airtime even tho you dont need to just be carefull and watch your bank. marshmallow update should be out for this soon too

they took 9 months to refund my money, wasted hours or my time and not to mention about the frustration.

With refresh you have to remember that you are taking out an interest free loan for the phone with another company so its yours straight away (ok until last payment) so why the confusion? buy a tv on finance oooooo no they wont let me pay it off WHAAAT?.

Just cancelled my iPhone contract earlier this month with no trouble at all. All I had to do was paying for the remaining of the phone value.

I've had several of these deals, just remember to cancel the direct debit immediately,or 02 will take either the first months payment,or a hefty termination fee...decent deal on a great phone though

I did it all online via chat. No probs at all. Make sure you pay off phone first- prob few days before cancelling airtime. Customer service told me that if you do it at same time, they may bill you for full contract. And they gave me unlocking code hours later for free.

A refurbished flagship with 12 month warranty for 240 knicker. Not bad. Not bad at all. If it was an IPhone 6s (or 6 for that matter) the young & silly would be crawling all over it already.

It's not an iPhone. If it's not an iPhone it's not an iPhone.

Don't do this anyone took over 6 months to cancel after I made full payment they sent it to collections even after I showed them I paid it off never again.

I like it when o2 balls up on refresh cancellations. They messed up on my S5 refurb and debited over £500 from me. I complained, got it all back, and £70 by way of apology.

I would have voted hot if I didn't spend 20 hours last week to deal with customer service.

Did this last year with the M8 & regretted it. Mistake after mistake, shoddy customer service & even after complaining I received a massive bill incorrectly and more uninterested responses. It may be a hot deal, but it's potentially a horrendous nightmare in waiting. Oh, and half a year later, the phone needed replacing. Forgot that bit.

I had to wait an age for them to refund me, most companies admit their mistakes and rectify immediately.

2 times I've done this, 2 times I cancelled and they kept billing me.
Both times had to go through their resolution department for their cockups.
Clucking useless.

Bought a Z1 Compact a year or so ago. Cancelled the airman after it was confirmed I could without penalty. They then charged the rest of the contract. It took me half a dozen phone calls and several weeks (hours of my life I've lost) to get my money back.

5 Dec 151#8
Is it really worth it taking the risk and going through the uncertain cancellation process, just so that you can pay £240 for a refurbished phone? The phone is not that good IMO. Not worth it if you can get a G4 brand new for £25 more.
rodman to basergorkobal
5 Dec 152#10
You still can recycle m9 up to £220, where g4 gives you only £150. Not sure if you know meaning value for money.
