Anyone who is with EE had any problems with 4G on this?
I've read that it doesn't cover certain bandwidths.

According to Will My Phone Work the model (which I got delivered) will support 4G. I'm on O2 and 4g works fine.

Was looking at this to upgrade from my one and a half year old LG G2, however after comparing both in GSMarena I stopped dreaming. In fact that extra gigabyte of ram, better camera etc would not make much difference for me and no I don`t play games. I purchased G2 new for £170 and works fine. What I`m getting at is that it is important to estimate your requirements before jumping a boat and doing the "upgrade". I like Huawei and voted hot anyway!

I have only just met you, but I do not like you...
lol, I have a nexus 5, and bought a new china phone (letv one) a few weeks ago, unfortunately I got a dud so sorting out my claim for the money again before I go ahead and get another phone, just incase i get screwed out of the money.

I've had both (the G2 was one of my all time fave phones) but a bit extra for the Honor 7 gets you a better camera, 50% more RAM, an excellent fingerprint sensor, a premium metal body, dual sim/expandable memory, a better speaker and the possibility of Marshmallow.

How's the OS on this bad boy?

10 Dec 151#12
Fingerprint scanner is the quickest I've used, you can even set a certain fingerprint to unlock the phone in secret mode (eg when handing to someone to look at you can have some sensitive content hidden).
The OS is subjective. Personally I prefer the little tweaks more than stock Android. The biggest issue is the iPhone-style lack of an app drawer, but unwanted icons can be put in a hidden folder or a launcher can sort it.
Other than that I think it's really nice skin, with some handy little extras, and I found it really smooth too.

I've had both, here's my view.
Samsung has a more vibrant screen (obvs) and is waterproof but I find Touchwiz laggy, the WiFi was patchy, bluetooth music kept dropping out for a second, I don't like a rear speaker, the fingerprint sensor was awkward to use (only worked 70% of the time) and the phone felt too plasticy.
The Honor is not up there with the current flagships, and it isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it looks good and works well.
Most of all it looks and feels like it should cost twice as much as it does.
I tried a Moto X Play (which cost more) after the Honor and it was difficult to hold, felt like a plastic kids toy, had rattly buttons, no fingerprint sensor and overall was a real let down. I didn't even find the battery to be much better than the Honor.
The Honor doesn't have NFC and probably won't hold its value, but it's good quality and easy to hold.
The smart button is useful too

Great solid phone. And not ridiculous silly apple type money. If you don't like the App drawer free version of android, get the Prime version of Nova Launcher in the playstore for only 10p at present. Sorted! (Couldn't care a bit about having no N.F.C - didnt use it once with my old phone)
And Honor are taking sign ups for the beta version of marshmallow on their facebook page, so it is coming .....

It's a great phone but £209 is the actual price whereas the £249 is the inflated one - not the other way round. About once a month they drop it by £40 and convince the public that they are getting a bargain. Also the vmall stocks are kept limited. It's nowhere near as bad as OnePlus's invite system though. These stock shortages are totally artificial, both the Honor and the OnePlus are made by giant Chinese companies - respectively Huawei and Oppo. Finally I am of the opinion that even £209 is now overpriced for this Chinese phone considering that around £180 (inc tax) will get you the likes of a Letv 1s or Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

I just got the Letv x600, and going to be a bit more cautious now. It was full of bloatware and that bloatware drained the battery quite badly too. Also my phone was unrootable... I tried most methods available to intermediate level people with no luck. Also my speaker doesn't work when in calls... phone looks absolutely stunning though  lol

true it's a good phone, but I bought it on release for £300 and have used it for 2 years now. Should be able to get a fair bit for it second hand... but nothing when it doesn't work, so figured I'd sell it and move on to a china phone.
Just got to wait for my refund and I'll sort one out

Bit to small for me.. thought Id look at the Mate S, but geez... £469, really??? Though these brands were meant to be affordable alternatives to overpriced big brand flagships...

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that - mostly because I recently ordered a Letv 1s X500 mostly because it looked nice :o

It's not that bad, I'm down £12 because I have to post it back to them on my own cost. wish my credit card company was more helpful. not too big of a hit (as long as i get my money back for the phone lol). TBH we buy china phones knowing the risks and potential headaches, so I'm happy with a £12 loss, compared to spending 250+ on a phone from the UK
I think mine is a rarity, I have scoured the internet trying to root mine, using simple root tools and more intense methods, but there were only a handful of people with similar issues to mine so there really isn't many people looking into these rare cases, so you should be fine.
I honestly feel like ordering another LeTV from another site because that thing is beautiful and feels amazing, but I think I'm going for the Xaiomi Redmi Note 3 (32gb version) instead... but, just need to make sure I can root it.
I have seen it for the cheapest on gearbest, is that a good china site?
littletime
11 Dec 15#36
I have ordered once from Gearbest. The item arrived but later than they had indicated. That having been said their reputation on these forums seem good and bad in equal measure. In that respect however they are no different to the other Chinese companies - if something does go wrong then sorting it out is such a headache you are more likely to give up. As you say, we mostly accept the risks. I'd use Gearbest again but on this occasion I went with Dealsmachine who so far have been quite promising. It was a really difficult choice between the Redmi 3 and x500 - the Redmi however is the safer bet and also technically superior because of the battery.
Wherever you go I recommend doing a price comparison using Kimovil - if you click through them to the supplier you often get a discount.

I've just ordered the xiaomi note 3 from banggood.. seem to have a better reputation than gearbest. Read somewhere that gearbest had made a ton of fake reviews, and got caught on trust pilot for it too.
paid 141, and it has free priority shipping (5-10 days, granted it's a pre-order so add a few more days till they get it)
I never knew about that site "kimovil" thanks for that, I checked it out and I'm roughly paying the lowest I can (paying lowest with fast shipping though, which is nice). Everbuying has the grey with black screen version at £128, no idea how they are though, plus I wanted the white version
BTW, surprisingly these shops are on quidco; both gearbest and banggood give 6%
littletime
11 Dec 15#38
I didn't know about about the Quidco for these two thank you. By the way, one issue I have with express delivery is that you are more likely to incur costs upon delivery. I don't mind too much paying the tax, but paying £12-£20 for the courier's 'admin fee' (to collect the tax) really takes the biscuit.

12 Dec 15#39
:disappointed: I had no idea, it's not shipped out yet as it's pre-order, should I change it to the longer time shipping?
With my luck I'm going to get caught this time lol, I guess the extra costs would just reflect how much longer I keep the phone

Got a Sandisk Ultra 32gb working fine on mine. Just received it today. Wasn't keen on purchasing for a long time but seriously there's not been a better phone out this year at £210 or below. Good thing the Three stores have them out on display to play around with because that experience made my mind up for me. Flies with Nova launcher BUT I'm not sure many have noticed but even though there's 3GB of RAM you'll only get 2GB that is usable. Most likely because of the EMUI skin eating up valuable resources. Anyway turbo charge which actually worked for me (full charge in 69 minutes), very nice screen and build quality, one of if not THE best fingerprint scanner to date with swipe gestures. Tt really is a good phone. Obviously has it's drawbacks but every phone does. Expandable storage won me over though and the camera is decent. I expected it to be really poor. Video recording with stabilisation turned on is much better than the shaky Nexus 5x.
