This looks like a cracker, you can have either the Guardians or Masterchief controller...

Deal of the year imo

Can not fault this package

Deal is live to get this price order on phone 0800 026 0329. it seems some advisor are doing it for £44.99 and some wont, multiple people are being successful by simply re calling, up to you on your patience levels

Basically, this is the standard major conglomerate stance. They will offer everyone £30 store credit to see who bites at it thus lowering their collateral.

Anyone that ordered DO NOT accept the voucher and instead post your story watchdog below

Drop a like to get this message to the top and suspect it will be on watchdogs radar!

I did video chat instead as text chat wasn't available. I then simply used it to text the advisor. You know, like a text chat.

He told me this "The total for that bundle on our site is 95.98 ounds you get Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians – The Master Chief Wireless Controller for 53.99 the Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One (Blu-ray Edition) Free. And Halo 5: Guardians for Xbox One for 35.99 discounted from 44.99." then he shot off before I could even respond. I might well have ordered it at full price but he must be sick of being asked the same question so he just ended the chat.

Video chat. Its such a bad idea. I felt uncomfortable watching the adviser read my questions.

It also didn't help that I was furiously waving my tackle at the webcam.

Had a very nice early Christmas present when I got a call asking if I'd received my £50 voucher... and that's after getting a copy of the MCC thanks to the US escalation team! So a nice controller, halo 5, the MCC, a £20 voucher then a £50 voucher - not bad for £45!

I picked up for my £124.96 - Xbox Elite Controller (woo!), 2x halo controllers, 2x Halo 5 (sold for £26 each to cex), Forza 6 and £20 xbl credit.

I'd call that a bargain :stuck_out_tongue:

Ps - the elite controller is back in stock for anyone who has received the £100 voucher...

They should be calling everyone up and ordering the games and controllers that some people are missing. They've obviously been given a kick from the powers that be. It's ridiculous it took us to go to the CEO to get it sorted. Hopefully they contact everyone that ordered but haven't been back to this thread since.

We understand that some of you are experiencing challenges when trying to use the gift certificates provided to customers who attempted to purchase the Halo Fan Bundle on Microsoft Store UK. We apologise that this experience has not met your expectations and we’re working hard to make it right. Many of us including myself have been calling that number for the last two weeks to get assistance. It's a joke that the 'TEAM' are waiting for us to call, it was the people at the top of Microsoft that scripted them in the first place to avoid resolving the situation in hope that many would give up. There were so many other ways to get this resolved, this was not one of them!

Challenges when trying to use the gift certificates!
No challenge there, just a massive challenge to get vouchers for what we ordered with everyone basically being told to lump it by your support staff. We've all had to go to the top for someone to see sense.
How long have your team been standing by to solve this problem? All I got was rude and unhelpful staff spouting irrelevant pricing t&cs.

So I tried contacting the people Alfonso advised me off being the (CEO and Vice President of Microsoft)

He even advised me that if I wanted next day delivery they will pay for it and refund me the difference

10 Dec 15 1 #820
it sounds to me they are not allowing people to claim multiple orders from them, if I am reading right all those who only ordered one got their controller and voucher?

Sounds like they are doing it one per order, regardless of how many people tried for, my suggestion would be to return any amounts over 1 copy, I do appreciate what people will argue, but you know sometimes when you try things on you lose out....

I also dont see what people think they credit card will do as MS have allready offered a full refund, and that is what they will tell you credit card, IMO take your one order be happy you still got a great deal, the rest smacks a little of greed I feel
theITman to Aeschylus
10 Dec 15 #821
Why should it be classed as greedy just because you have more than one set, why should a customer who bought just one be treated any differently. I got 4 bundles, I have three nephews and a son who would like this for Christmas, and simply if it was the normal price then it would be no chance. What is in dispute at present is that Microsoft are not acting according to Consumer law and have had opportunity if they felt they couldn't fulfil to cancel the orders but they didn't. They honoured the agreement and shipped the goods. Now in their terms of sale paragraph 12 PRODUCT AVAILABILITY AND QUANTITY AND ORDER LIMITS, they are trying to use this as a way out. However as the goods are being shipped to single orders and are in stock ( currently ) then supply is not an issue, they tried to tell me it was limited to 1 per customer as per the terms but this information wasn't given at the time of purchase and as the order was a telephone order they must make sure that the customer is informed of restrictions adequately, this wasn't the case, I was never informed even after asking the sales rep who asked a supervisor. Trading standards confirmed that the information on the website is not enough to stand on as it was a phone order and unless they can prove information was provided then it plays no part.

Simply put you do not need to accept a refund as the solution, there is a breach of contract. If you're happy that large companies control you rights as a buyer then be my guest but whether or not people ordered one or a hundred they are in the right to proceed with requesting Microsoft to send what they ordered.

I order two bundles in one order and got two Halo 5s then got sent two controller codes and two £20 codes.
dodoegg1 to Aeschylus
12 Dec 15 #837
though I kind of agree it borders on greed trying to get full orders off them, the rest of your comment is wrong. Microsoft havent ever offered me a refund, nor have they offered most other people. So credit card providers can be contacted to exercise a refund.

Plus, dont forget the contractual position here. Those of us that ordered via credit card have a contract with the credit card company; not Microsoft. Therefore we should pursue the credit card company.

10 Dec 15 #822
but you are one of a very few who would of ordered multiples for actual people, cmon you know that, the vast majority will be people trying to pull a fast one to resell, unfortunately MS can not distinguish greed from honesty, they are not the first company who have honoured items for single orders and refused those who ordered multiples, and it is not about allowing it, but you know and I know you will have to take them to court to win this one, so only you can answer if this is worth all the energy and time it is about to take for you to achieve what you want, I wish you good luck

theITman to assgoat
10 Dec 15 #819
My issue exactly, I'm only being offered one controller, one voucher although ordering multiple sets. They keep going over their terms that they can change the price etc at any point but they don't seem to understand that you can't do that once the order is shipped. I had got tired of the chasing and dead end phone calls and posted a letter of breach of contract to see if that sparks anything.

I too have just received an email about the £20 vouchers being what the escalation team have decided. They also state below it in much smaller text that "Product prices and availability are subject to change at any time and without notice, but you will always be charged the price which is displayed at the time you confirm your order. Microsoft may place a limit on the quantities that may be purchased per order, per account, per credit card, per person, or per household which you will be informed of on the Website or prior to us accepting your order. Microsoft may refuse or reject any order at any time, refunding you any monies you have paid for the order, for legitimate reasons which include, but are not limited to, if you have not met the conditions specified at the time of the order, if your payment cannot be processed, if the ordered products or services are not available, or for obvious errors on the Website or made in connection with your order. If we are unable to supply the products or services that you ordered, we will contact you and may offer you an alternative product to consider instead. If you do not choose to purchase the alternative product, we will cancel your order. In the event of obvious errors on the Website or made in connection with your order, we reserve the right to correct the error and charge you the correct price. In that situation, we will contact you and offer you the option of purchasing the product at the correct price or canceling your order. Unless a specific delivery period is mentioned at the time you place your order, your products or services will be delivered within thirty (30) days of the date of your order. Credits or refunds will be made to the same method of payment and account used to place the order."

Usual BS to basically say that they will give you a voucher to a value they decide and you will like it, or else!

That was my biggest issue, they stated they would only send a code for each order number rather than for each bundle which is ridiculous. As you mentioned they were able to cancel the whole thing before shipping under their terms ( which is fine ) but as they accepted the contract and shipped goods they now need to supply and cannot change the price or order contents. Had I received the games, controllers and £20 voucher for each bundle then I would probably have left it but their illegal actions have made it impossible to leave alone. All asked for was what i ordered nothing else.
broooce

9 Dec 15 #800
Thats not good mate, hope you get more than that after making your complaint official.

I ordered 2 bundles, and I have now received 2 x games, 2 x controllers and 2 x £20 vouchers.

Microsoft have said NO to increasing the vouchers to cover the cost of the MCC's, claiming that the terms and conditions specifically state that Microsoft have the right to amend prices subject to blah blah blah...
Obviously this is true, but once a formal contract of sale has been formed then this would take over.

Anyway, I might leave it now for the sake of the hassle - £88.99 for 2 games, 2 controllers and 2 x £20 vouchers isn't too shabby.

theITman
9 Dec 15 1 #798
If no-one else has done as yet I have just come off the phone with trading standards and they confirm that Microsoft are in breach of contract so have a case now open. Do not accept the codes or use them in anyway as doing so will mean that you have accepted Microsoft's new terms of contract. Regardless of what the Microsoft advisor's say they are not allowed to change the terms of sale after the goods are shipped, regardless of an error or not. They are covered by law to cancel contracts prior to shipping but shipping goods means they have accepted the terms. Just because they say the case is closed doesn't mean it is with you, if you haven't used the free controller code and the £20 voucher then you are abiding by the original contract formed.

Do not accept any offer other than than what was purchased, they cannot force you to return for a refund. If they mention the 30 day return policy this is also void as your statutory rights are that the return period begins the day after the last item was received, in this case as we have only got one game until you receive the other two items their return policy is void even if it takes a year.

I have needed to go to this website advised by trading standards as the Microsoft trading is governed by Ireland consumer law not UK, it is pretty much the same though

Essentially you will need to probably go down the same route but as they are not open today due to training I cannot confirm. It will be required to email/ post a breach of contract letter from
HERE

Normally I wouldn't consider this option but I have ordered several bundles under one order number meaning they will only supply one code which doesn't cover it. After another re-escalation over a week ago it is the same old story so they have left me no choice.

Be prepared for this to take a bit but they are in the wrong on this and have acted inappropriately do not let them get away with it.

Good luck everyone

Had a word with mine and told them that they were refusing to send out the rest of my order and that the only way I'm going to get it is to spend another £50 to get the two missing games (£44.99 each - £20 voucher x2).

They've put a hold on the £89.98 I spent which also happens to be the exact same amount as two copies of The MCC, so I just told them I'd purchase the two games with the refunded money so I get my whole order.

Every step of the way I've been told the two games are either on the way or I'll get a voucher for them in full.

I have received the two controllers. Still waiting on a call back as I have two escalation claims, one for the mossing Halo 5 and one for the undervalued MCC vouchers.

In total I have had 4 txt chats online and 2 telephone calls. I can understand that they may need to refer the voucher query, but the lack of two copies Halo 5 in my parcel seems to be a straightforward issue....Amazon etc would apologize and sort that out within 30 seconds, never mind 6 days!

You can always try ringing them again after 10pm in the hope you get a better person (but I would start fresh and not mention any case that was opened unless asked). I told them that I bought the fan bundle, but MS messed up the order and only sent Halo 5. However, they've given me a code to purchase controller which I have done, but MCC is out of stock so cannot send that as yet, but it is now available on site, so can you please help with sending that out as it should have originally been sent. It seemed to work!

4 Dec 15 #757
According to Microsoft's e-mail sent to all customers it wasn't a pricing error, it was a promotion. People are making a "fuss" because they haven't received the items promised, people are being fobbed off with a £20 vouchers which is apparently "equivalent" to the "out of stock" MCC price. Considering it's actually £44.99. In fact they are lucky I haven't complained further in regards to the whole mess and the awful customer service I've received from some of the agents.

Abhijitdash123 you have been fed utter bull crap from the agents you've spoke too... a misprice event? A little naive to be honest. We're all within our rights to claim the full product, period. Had my controller and MCC copy delivered today, MCC copy was put through the system for free by an adviser, got all 3 now and got to keep the £20
SirAlfonso
4 Dec 15 #756
That's the thing, they took 2 days to send out the orders, in that time someone made the decision to send just Halo 5 without any communication about other items being 'out of stock.' Halo 5 was available for £9 less on its own. It's very shady really.
dealtime
4 Dec 15 1 #755
Well, I think any misprice on any site is understandable, if they simply communicate it was a misprice and that nothing would be sent out, this would have been more acceptable. It was not the case here, MS dispatched, so the contract was formed, but I honestly believe they tried to pull a fast one and be clever by only sending a game - so this is where they differ to any other misprice. In fact, in their email communication they talk about it being a promotion too, not a misprice, so I cannot see how anyone can defend them on this. I hope everyone gets what they bought and this be a lesson to MS.
SirAlfonso
4 Dec 15 #752
No I didn't call, I didn't need to. They shipped 2 days later then we found out they'd only sent halo 5. The written communication I had from them was the email we all received Wednesday night which states it was a promotion, nothing about a misprice/error. People like me who ordered more than 1 in an order are currently victims of fraud as they have taken £44.99 for a copy of Halo 5 (which was £35.99 up until Tuesday) which we didn't authorise. Until they send the rest of the codes to us that will be the case. After that we can then joint in the argument about the £20/MCC.
DJ Splitz to SirAlfonso
4 Dec 15 #754

Question:

If you ordered a car from a very well known and reputable company for less than half its usual price and the company actually took your money rather than cancel the order saying it was a mistake.... would you accept just a door or would you want the whole car?

Would you then accept it if they then sent you the whole car but without an engine? I guess you understand what I am getting at here....
SirAlfonso
4 Dec 15 #748
The issue is they took the money and decided to just send halo 5. That's obtaining money by deception. They'd have left it at hat had everyone not complained. They then confirmed it was a promotion not an error and lied about MCC being out of stock. It's just a shambles really. You wouldn't expect such a mess up from any company let alone one as big as Microsoft!
abhijitdash123 to SirAlfonso
4 Dec 15 #750
Had you called the company on the day after you ordered?

I did and they informed that they had this misprice event and load of orders were placed. They are deciding what to do and are unable to send it all due to stock issues. They said they will send vouchers to purchase these to our email ids and i said that is fine.
It was not that the company will sit cheating so many people. They had something to do and a process to adhere to to sort out the resolution. You cant just issue a code to thousands without a process. Their only fault i think was lack of sufficient communication. They could have sent an email saying the same on the day or 2 days later.
However, we must also acknowledge that it was the black friday weekend and people were ordering so many stuff. Its difficult for any company to catchup to a day or two of peak demand. Tesco were literally not delivering anything for 5 to 7 days. Yes they cocked up but we should be happy with what we are being offered is what i am saying. We are making our own lives complicated running after the difference.

4 Dec 15 #747
To be honest it was just a pricing error just like when Amazon does it or other sites. And I never had Amazon honor the misprice. Its in their terms and conditions that they need not and they will be fine and we cant do ****.

Microsoft did actually go a step further to honor the controller deal and gave us a £20 code. Its amazing that people are still making a fuss.
Anyway the master chief game costs ~25 on ebay etc so get it from there and use this credit for something else. Its as simple as that. Just my view though. I feel they have done enough. A nice limited edition controller, halo 5 physical game and a £20 credit is a very nice deal for the price we all paid. Period.

Same here, I ordered several packs booked over three orders but only got three codes which wouldn't cover for the rest. Mine claim is with escalations since Wednesday no call back as yet. Still to receive my copy of Halo 5, the UPS driver for where I live is total crap - it's been 'out for delivery' all week and they've only tried once (according to their website) and I don't even believe that, seeing as there were at least 2 people in the house when they supposedly tried...

One of the UPS delivery boxes was completely soaked and crumpled, the delivery driver couldn't read the tracking number on the label so asked me to read it out from my tracking email! The box for the actual controller is a bit damp and crushed but not too worried at this stage as I'll be using it.

I guess the MCC isn't on back order after all cuz they just dispatched it! I can understand that the call centre staff have been told not to give people extra but giving it to some and not others is a bit silly. Microsoft Work & Play is here. For only £ 119.00, you get Office 365 Home, Assure Support Plan, Skype Unlimited and much more! You can find details on the product page or by chatting to a sales expert.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Store Chat! My name is Joanne. How can I help you today?
You: at 13:49:12
Hi, I recent ordered the Halo Fan Bundle, but have only been shipped the Halo 5 Game
Joanne: at 13:49:40
I understand and I will do my best to assist you regarding this matter.
Joanne: at 13:50:12
I do apologise for the inconvenience and we are aware of this situation
Joanne: at 13:50:58
Therefore we are currently sending email to all customers that ordered this product with a promo code to purchase a controller for free and a 2nd promo code of 20 GBP to purchase a game of your choice
You: at 13:51:47
The halo MCC collection has been increased in price to £45 though, and a £20 voucher would not covert his
Joanne: at 13:51:51
The code is valid until 11 / 16 and you can use it on any products you want so you can actually wait until Christmas to see if we have any offers on any games and use it then
Joanne: at 13:53:18
This is the compensation that all customers who were in the same situation received
Joanne: at 13:54:52
Also if you are not satisfied with this resolution we can also process a refund for your order
You: at 13:55:15
Okay but that isnt really compensation as you're not covering my original order, as I want the master chief collection and that now costs £44.99
Joanne: at 13:56:09
I do understand but the prices was wrong from the beginning since the actual price of the bundle was 93 GBP
Joanne: at 13:56:15
That was the real price of the bundle
Joanne: at 13:56:29
And since we had a faulty price this is why not all products were included in your order
Joanne: at 13:56:39
So as a compensation we provided you with 2 codes
Joanne: at 13:56:56
And as I said you can wait for the Christmas offer and use it then
Joanne: at 13:57:13
You don't need to use it now
You: at 13:57:45
But I confirmed over the phone with the agent in my original call the price and what the bundle came with, a call that was recorded. Of course you were well within your rights to cancel but before sending me out half the order, there is no guarantee there will be a offer on a game I want over Christmas, surely it would be easier to give a voucher code for the MCC which is the game I actually want?
Joanne: at 13:58:49
This is the compensation that we offered and as I said if you are not happy with the resolution I can process a refund for your order
You: at 13:59:28
Right okay. Thank you for your time.

Call in the evening, don't waste your time in the day.

So, I've just received shipping confirmation for the rest of my order. So all in all, I should receive Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, the Master Chief controller and a £20 voucher. For an initial outlay of £44.99.

Yeah there was a bit of faffing around but what an amazing deal this turned out to be. Microsoft could have handled it much better, but I'm happy with everything after speaking to the Americans last night, so Microsoft done good in the end (Even if it takes a while to get there).

Much respect to the OP!!

So received a voucher for the controller + £20 , my halo came today and ive yet to contact them, they've just been proactive about this with me. See email below. Seeing as MCC IS in stock, and thats the game I actually want as I already have Halo 5 im still unhappy and going to give them a call shortly.

Dear Bryn,

Thank you for ordering the special promotional Halo 5 Fan Bundle, including: Halo 5 Guardians + Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition Controller + Halo the Master Chief Collection.

We sold out of this deal much faster than we anticipated and as a result we will be unable to fulfill your order. You're going to receive your Halo 5 game any day now, but the Limited Edition Controller and Master Chief Collection won’t be in the box.

Due to high demand we have run out of stock of Master Chief Collection. We'd like to make it up to you by giving you a promotion code to receive the missing controller at no additional cost. We'd also like to offer you a store voucher for the value of the missing Master Chief Collection game to be used against any alternative game of your choice.

Here's all you have to do:

Come back to our site and add either the Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians or Halo Master Chief wireless controller to your cart.
Use Promo Code* **********at checkout. That way you'll get the controller at no extra cost.
Select any Xbox game of your choice and add it to your cart. Use Promo Code** *******at checkout and receive £20 off your Microsoft online store purchase
Alternatively, you can cancel your order and receive a full refund.

If you have any questions, just call 0800 026 0329 (free from UK landlines, calls to this number from mobile phones may be charged). Our lines are open 24/7 and we'll be happy to help you.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and wish you a happy holiday season!

Yeah don't bother trying to call at the moment, The EU call centers are terrible.

Not willing to budge at all, Reading the same generic script over and over, The person I spoke to did not want to put me through to a manager, After insisting on it conveniently there was nobody around.

Going to try calling again this evening.

whoever is in charge must have their head close to a chopping block after this?! They were warned that the MCC game price had gone up but still went ahead anyway. Surely they are aware of this thread and subsequently that they can't pull one over on anyone. If someone got a £50 voucher to buy nay game as the MCC has gone up in price then obviously someone else will not settle for less.

I'm actually very happy with what I got. Deal of the year for sure. They have handled it very badly but I'm not mad at all. Some companies would have just shut you down immediately. Of course, once they sent Halo 5 they had set themselves up for a fall.

Just got off the live chat with an Agent. From their understanding they don't know anything about covering the value of the missing game.
He thought all we got was the £20 to cover the missing game.
He has since escalated the case and asked if i forward him the email i received from Microsoft.

With a company the size and reputation of Microsoft, you would honestly expect them to have fairly good customer service/aftercare. This has to be one of the poorest customer service experiences I have had. It really makes you appreciate the companies that have good service.

I've ordered a controller and now holding out for a resolution to the game.
SirAlfonso
3 Dec 15 #666
Controller is £59.99! Plus halo 5 was £35.99 on their website when we ordered the bundle.

3 Dec 15 #667
Just goes to show they have no idea what they are talking about!

She clammed up after that and kept repeating the same rubbish we've seen on here before about the £20 being 'compensation' but I was very interested in her original logic of how the deal was broken down - anyone who wants to take up the argument feel free, I never told them who I was in that chat.

Just had a hilarious chat with online help - here's an excerpt that some of you might like to bring up with them at some point:

Helen: so, due to the fact that there was an error on the website and the bundle was not specified at it´s full price which was 95.98 pounds, you have received the Halo game, and then the voucher to get the controller for free, and another 20 pounds voucher as a compensation as there was no option to cover all of the items in the bundle for free, and thus cover the full correct total of the bundle for 95.98 pounds
Helen: so with the controller for free which is 49.99 and the 20 pounds off for the second game we are offering you the 69.99 pounds off for the inconvenience and then to cover the full price of thr bundle 95.98 you pay the difference with the Halo game which is on the website 44.99 pounds
Helen: this is the compensation applied for the inconvenience so from my end there is nothing that can be done, except for assisting you with placing the order
Helen: We have not heard from you for some time. Please keep in mind, this chat window will be closed automatically due to inactivity. Do you still wish to continue chatting?
You: Hang on Helen, by your maths there, the total should have been £114.98, not £95.98? So technically, if you are saying that the value of the controller and voucher should be taken off the £95.98 that only leaves £25.99
You: So by your logic I have paid £19 too much for Halo 5
Helen: well, we are overwhelmed with the maths, at least I am
Helen: so, you were charged for the bundle 44.99 and only received the game right?
You: Yes that is right
Helen: and that is the full total price of the game on the store
You: yes
Helen: the full bundle was actually 95.98, you got a free of charge voucher for the controller which is 49.99 pounds plus a 20 pounds voucher to buy the second game
Helen: let me quickly open the calculator

I've had 1 code per order, not per person. They really have no clue what they're doing. Still can't believe the email last night that confirms it was a promotion and to say MCC is out of stock is crazy. They've not got a leg to stand on. The guys with multiples in an order need to stand firm. If they don't see sense today it's probably best to let trading standards know of the fraud that has been committed by them.

Just spoke to a nice American lady. She is escalating the issue about me not receiving more than 1 code in each email despite having 2 in 2 orders. She said i'd receive those later. Regarding the £20 she started quoting the pricing policy, to which i responded that it doesn't come in after payment has been taken as that would be fraud, She said she'd need to escalate that too. Stand your ground, legally they have to give us the whole bundle now.

They can't change prices after they've taken payment. That's obtaining money by deception - fraud. Their email confirms in writing it was a promotion, not an error. Trading standards will have a field day with it.

As others, I've ordered the controllers but not used the voucher, thought I'd order the controllers before they decide to make those not work. Will definitely argue for the MCC, or its equivalent in voucher....and worse case scenario, use the vouchers in the sale as others have mentioned.

Don't settle for the £20 voucher, in the email with the codes it states "We'd also like to offer you a store voucher for the value of the missing Master Chief Collection game". The current price is £44.99 - and its in STOCK... They have no leg to stand on.

Just got codes, when I spoke to MS earlier today got told the same, ordered several bundles across three orders but only received three codes, one for each order ( not bundle ). Master chief is clearly in stock so they should be supplying that not a £20 voucher as that doesn't buy what you've ordered ( price has increased to £44.99 ). If they had cancelled the order fine but they honoured it and as such accepted the contract to supply. Do not back down on this, I will be going after what I ordered.

I kind of think they've been pretty good about it, though they should have sent a contact email to buyers explaining the situation rather than waiting to be contacted.
£44.99 for a LE controller, Halo 5, and a £20 voucher, is still a scorching deal.I don't think we are quite as entitled to stuff as people think when there was clearly an error made somewhere. A lot of other places would have just cancelled the whole order.
bluecityste to dgibbons34
2 Dec 15 #531
Not a bad deal, but if you were to shop around for each item (including available cashbacks) each bundle could have been bought elsewhere for around £68 on black friday....so £44.99 from Microsoft directly isn't exactly a crazy price to begin with (although definitely the best deal out there, hence why I purchased one for me and one for my brother!).

I don't mean to upset more of you on here but this is what I've had from Microsoft on a call today.

The operator basically said to me that I'll receive the codes for a controller and £20 voucher.

Now here is the funny part........

I said to her, as I have 4 orders for this bundle can icombine the vouchers in the store which will total £80 and she basically said that the controller and voucher offer is PER CUSTOMER and not PER ORDER.

Can you believe this?

She then confirmed to me in cold blood that if I have multiple orders i will only be receiving that offer of a controller and voucher x1 and not x4 so i will basically be getting halo 5 x4 which I've already received, one controller and £20 rather than Halo 5 x4, controller x4 and £20 voucher x4 (which still isn't the deal I paid for anyways)

ANYONE THAT ORDERED MORE THAN ONE BUNDLE, I SUGGEST YOU GET ON THE PHONE TO MICROSOFT!

you see part of me thinks (presuming you were trying to scalp) tough luck, but then part of me thinks MS are just being crappy as hell...

However that does not surprise me, if you look at any website Game, Amazon etc, when they do a offer with a game it is always one per order, so you have to do multiple orders to qualify...

Just return 3 of them to resolve this

I said to them they shouldn't have fulfilled the order in that case

2 Dec 15 #521
I think MS really should not be let of the hook. It would have been different if they had outright cancelled the orders saying it was a misprice, but they didn't. They decided to pull a fast one by sending out the game only, for this, I think we should stand our ground and ensure they oblige to the formed contract, now that the goods/part of the goods have been despatched. We should really get what we paid for, it is simply wrong what they are now doing. I am willing to wait until end of week and if no email received, then to escalate this further in writing. Ringing MS and speaking to the call handlers doesn't seem to be getting us anywhere.

After being told yesterday I would get a voucher for the game and the pad, they called this morning and said I will get a voucher for the pad and a £20 voucher, I pointed out that this won't cover the cost of the game so he said I could have a refund, which I didn't accept.

He said as it was a system error so the price shouldn't have been that low in the first place, to which I replied that it doesn't matter, we've entered in to an agreement, a sales contract which has now been concluded and at several times the price and contents of the agreement were confirmed.

I didn't accept the £20 voucher and voucher for the pad offer or the refund, and I asked to speak to the escalations team, which he has forwarded my details on to.

This is getting absurd now, originally he called to say I will be getting the vouchers through by email by today or tomorrow for the game and the pad, and now they've changed their story within the time it took to make the call. Feels like we're going round in circles.

I don't think they have any idea what's going on, but stand your ground, get what you paid for.

Will see what happens when the escalation team call me, what a joke.

My guess would be as the fan bundle doesn't show up on their system (At the £44.99 price) as correct, maybe it just shows up as Halo 5 so they can't just blindly send out other items without having a paper trail so to speak. They need at least some kind of transaction to take place before they send them out so they know where certain stock has gone.

It makes sense, I fully expect we will get a voucher for the game or the current price equivalent. They won't try and cheap out with a voucher that doesn't even cover the cost of the game.

Glad this is sorted though, it's what they should have done from the start. I agree with the person who said this was probably some manager who made the decision to just send out halo as a bit of a FU to people trying to get a deal.

Teamwork makes the dream work people

I just finished talking to them via Live Chat and was told by Petrescu that they are aware and that I will receive an email with a Promo Code in the next 72 hours. When I pressed him on whether that will include covering the Ltd edition controller and Halo MCC he said he does not know and then proceeded to start quoting the T&C at me. I then quoted part about email confirmation concluding the contract and he reverted back to me getting an email in 3 days. Not going to be happy until I have confirmation that I will get the same offer as others here.

Rang them and they confirmed I will receive an email for a code to take the controller to 0 AND £20 voucher / code to spend on the Master Chief Collection (which is apparently £18) but he said I can spend the 20 on whatever I like. Well this all seems to have been resolved. Why they thought that sending out Halo 5 on it's own was a good idea I'll never know! Obviously common sense has prevailed and maybe the possibility of the bad PR made a difference. I have just been advised the following by live chat:

"You will not receive anything as there was an error with the system. But don't worry. From tomorrow we are sending everyone that ordered this an email with a code whereby you can order the controller and a 20 pound code to get a game of your choice."

"So I will receive a code to order the controller at no additional cost, as well as a £20 code to order the game?"

"yes, and so that actually works out at better than what it was on the store page. Since the whole deal was a bit of a mess in the system, we received word literally about half an hour ago that this is what will happen. now there were several hundred orders so you may not get the email tomorrow but in the next few days as they will be manually checked, so don't worry. Only if you don't get something by say, thursday, come back on chat and we'll see what happened."

I have saved the live chat, you know, just in case

HolySmokes
30 Nov 15 #379
They have to supply the goods, no other way about it, it was on the run up to black Friday so everybody is within their right to believe this was Black Friday deal. They can't just turn around after and say it's double the price so we're not doing it. Imagine if other companies did that on Black Friday? There would be outrage.
aaronmcc
30 Nov 15 #378
If they don't honour this then they will have a PR nightmare on their hands.

I mean, I spoke to someone on the phone, they acknowledged what was in the bundle and the price I was getting it for. They asked me specifically which controller I wanted. They sent me a confirmation email and shipped the item having taken £44.99 form my account. These actions constitute a contract which binds them as much as me. The confirmation email states 'Halo Fan Bundle' and that statement links to a page on the MS store which shows 2 games and a controller. If I receive part of my order then I will await the rest of it. It's pretty ironic saying a computer glitch caused all this when they are MS after all. You can't charge someone for one thing and send them another claiming it was too good to be true and you should have known it. If I order Gears Remastered from GAME for £15 and they sent me Gears 1 for 360 and said oh well it was too good a price so you should have known it was wrong, I doubt that would fly.

Obviously, I'd take a £50 store credit as compensation so I can order the bundle again

I had a very rude person on chat. Told me it was an obvious mistake and that clause 12 of terms and conditions stating that they can change the order. I would have to return the order for a refund. Or I could reorder and get a £30 discount

I asked to be raised to manager. Was told no point as would say the same!

Surely. Offer accept and dispatch rules of contract.now means this is a breach of contract
Aeschylus to ericagradus
30 Nov 15 #362
OMG, this sounds like they saw all these orders and deliberately went out to **** people over, this is nuts, literally it is like they choose not to cancel them and just take the mickey out of everyone
myflumps to ericagradus
30 Nov 15 1 #368
They are ignoring their own terms and conditions - taken from point 17 (price and payment)

Product offers on Microsoft Store do not constitute binding offers by us. By clicking “complete purchase,” “submit order” or the comparable button to send your order to Us, you make a binding offer in relation to all of the products in your cart. If we accept your order, you will receive an automated purchase confirmation email. The purchase contract is concluded by this email.

I know during my initial phone call to Microsoft that I asked the sales representative to confirm the order came with the controller for that price. My order also states that it includes the controller. I am waiting a call back from Microsoft but I can see I am going to have to ask for them to replay or provide my voice transcripts which contact centres just hate doing.

I was offered a £30 voucher or a full refund. They cannot get away with this. Its gone from accepted to despatched (and in most cases this is where the contract becomes binding) so we should be able to argue that we get this. The person who took my call saw it as being a mistake and raised a case, but depends who is going to review the case.

I just spoke to Microsoft on the phone and they said that they only sent a copy of Halo 5 because I only paid £44.99 and it should have been double the price. I had the choice of: Keep the game (no refund) or return the game for a full refund.

Just a heads up on what I did to hopefully help some of you guys out.... I ordered the bundle online when it was advertised at £53.99 (kept a screenshot). My order was processed at the full price and I rang Microsoft to check what was going on. The person I spoke to said it was an error due to the package deal and that I would be charged the correct price which for me was £53.99. I later received a shipping confirmation listing all 3 items (weighing 1.0kg) and I checked my credit card to see I had been charged the full price.....

I then attempted to sort out a refund for the incorrect amount via the live chat (text) on the website. I spoke to 3 different people in the conversation including a very confused Spanish lady all of whom could not understand my exact problem (or much other English unfortunately....) Eventually they decided I should contact the 0800 number to sort it out.......

I spent over an hour on the phone and got cut off three times, the level of customer service was truly shocking. Eventually I got through to an American guy who insisted there was nothing they could do and that they had never offered it at this price on the website as his system had no record of it, he spoke to his supervisor who said there was nothing they could do.

By this point I was fuming, if they admitted it was a simple error they could have sorted it out quickly.

I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told she was in a meeting, I said no problem I can wait (already been on the phone for 45 minutes plus the 40 minutes in live chat so don't mind holding!)

Eventually the supervisor came on the phone and apologized for keeping me waiting, she listened patiently while I explained the problem and asked me what had happened so far. I explained the text conversation and several calls needed to speak to someone for which she apologised and asked if I could send the screenshot to her via email which I did. After a quick check she agreed that they were indeed offering the package at the reduced price (probably an error) and agreed to refund the extra amount (£41.99) onto my credit card which I received a refund number for.

In summary I wouldn't waste any time on the text chat or foreign telephone operators, call up and ask to speak to a team manager, they seem to be the only people with any authority to do anything other than look on the website and see what price it is currently showing at.....

Now to see what arrives tomorrow

I think everyone is in for a shock just like me and will receive a copy of halo 5 on its own. there was a note in package suggesting other items may come separately but when I checked my account it doesn't mention anything else is on its way. It states as the package has been delivered in a ups link from order number. Hopefully this gets resolved sooner than later and they either send the rest or a full refund is given

In a way I hope the games are downloadable. I think. I'm logged in to my friend's Xbox Home account thingy, where I can download any games from his library. He needs Halo 5 and so do I. So if I gave him the download code, he could download to his xbox then I'd be able to download it off his home account wouldn't I?

Meaning I could give the other copy of halo 5 to another friend. Meaning an extra head for our co-op campaign.

Yeah I had confirmation over the phone too, just received my shipping confirmation also which states the Halo Fan Bundle should be delivered on Monday with the weight being 0.10kg. It was sent out yesterday.

The email also states "If you ordered multiple products, they may be shipped separately. If that's the case, you'll get another mail like this one for each shipment you will receive. ", so I'm not panicking just yet.

If just Halo arrives I'll be on to them like a shot, I have all my reference numbers for convos and screen shots etc.

Hmm, this is all a bit concerning :/

I definitely had verbal confirmation over the phone that they were physical copies, that it was both games and a controller, and that it cost £44.99. I was also offered express delivery but turned it down. I have the reference for my call which I know was recorded so I'll be referring them to that if this goes sideways!

I've just got a call back (from the guy who told me he would call me back in 3-4 hours) Basically telling me that I will have to order full price and I would get a £30 credit after, he didn't explain it very well but I assume it's what previous comments mention here. He sounded absolutely petrified when he called and very hesitant (bear in mind 3 hours ago he PROMISED the price of 44.99 and told me it's definitely honoured) I made him aware I've already called back and spoke to an advisor who has put the order through at 44.99 because of the fact I was honoured and I wanted to speak to a manager to escalate the problem. Sounds like basically management are telling advisors to NOT give the honoured price away unless someone seriously kicks off.
mooseepoo to AlwaysTheBest
26 Nov 15 #265
I also had a call back confirming the same thing. I did kick off and was told that anyone who has ordered at a lower-price will be contacted and offered the same deal, but this may take some time as apparently they have 100's of orders that they need to review. My adviser said that whereas the European call-center was made aware of the website issue with the cheap price, other centers worldwide (they do not necessarily use call centers in your region) did not know of the mistake so were putting orders through at the prices they could see or had been told about.

I tried multiple times, and I mean multiple times. Staff spoke to supervisors, but no go. As said before, the best they are offering is a £30 credit, which means you pay £65, but have to buy from them in the future. If someone has an order number from recent orders this may help? But unlikely.

I spoke to someone again after I was promised a call back in 4 hours, considering people on here were getting their orders through. I spoke to someone who kept repeating that it was an error. Told her I was promised the 44.99 and told her the advisor said it would be honoured. She said there is nothing she can do. I asked for her manager several times but she refused. Apparently I should have been given a reference number so they couldn't check the call where I was promised the honoured price. After asking for her manager 10 times she eventually placed me on hold, come back and told me they were making an "exception" for me. Just got my order emailed 44.99 and she is calling me back to make sure it's been delivered and processed properly. Stand your ground, don't let them repeat a scripted like they've been passed from management, the manager wouldn't even come on the phone to me.

I just spoke to an Advisor, got through straight away.

Just called them and ordered over the phone. Here's the cool part... They added everything together on their system and it came out at £44.99 for all three items. Ordered one of each. Thanks OP.

P.S. they confirmed they're physical copies of the games and free shipping.
