Bit gutted, I only just decided to get the Nexus Player but realised it's gone back up to full price.

Does the player have a Web browser? Can I watch the footy on sky go with this?

I realise the cost is not great, however i use this on my monitor sometimes with kodi and the monitor auto selects the live device, so when i turn off my pc it will auto switch from display port to HDMI thus i need to turn off my monitor using power button or i need to pull the power cord which over time will loosen the connector, its not a deal breaker for me but would have been nice to just add a off button. also its not a device i use every day maybe one or twice a week

According to this, the Nexus Player users 0.8 watts in standby, so hardly anything.

this lacks a off button, its good, fast and smooth, remote is poor quality and lacks buttons, works well with kodi, good for people without smart tv or older slower smart tv, Version 2 need to be 4K better remote, Ethernet is a must and please a off switch

Most devices of this type lack an off switch, FireTV, Roku/NowTV and most android boxes, they consume circa >5w in standby, that's circa 65p a year if left in 24/7/365.25.

A lack of an ethernet port was a criminal mistake.

can add one via otg.. As well as more usb ports and storage. This is better than the Chinese boxes

Crap for games, but for Kodi, streaming nvidia PC games, netflix, youtube and chromecasting. It's a great device.
With Kodi, it supports 24Hz playback too!
