Just a heads up to anyone planning on using this with a mac, the anti-ghosting keys can really mess up your typing. Macs recognise it as two keys alternating so, if you're a quick typer, you'll end up with words like ththtisisisis.

Was this being sold with a mouse or were they just suggesting a the mouse to go with it? As far as I can see online they are separate items.

Thanks, I was just about to order one from eBay, the cheapest deal there on this identical keyboard is £13.99 and that's without the 3 year guarantee, I'm now hoping that I don't encounter any PC Hardware conflict with this. Has anyone got one of this specific keyboard and have you encounter any hardware conflict when using with your PC?

Unless your PC/MAC does not have at least 2 USB ports for then to be plugged in to them you will be fine. Generic drivers will normally take over from when you plug them in.
WARNING: Does not work with BBC computers. ;-P

Fair point. But is it worth the trip to Aldi? I live in an incredibly middle class area so it's a bit out of my way.
If I happen to go past one I'll give it a go!

Thanks for posting, cheaper than the tat I buy for the office. Going to try and pick up 10 sets for the store room as long as there's not restrictions on how many you can buy. Stacy on reception will be a great test for this as she probably cracks out 10k words a day but with a three year warranty no worries.... Not forgetting it will look good to, think red will go nice for Christmas......
Nice one - thanks

Reading the description it seems the mouse is also included in this purchase, even if they only last a year it has a 3 year warranty so returning them after 12 months for a refund is still a free keyboard and mouse for a year.
The only thing confusing me at the moment is its listed as Sunday 13th December, does this mean it is only available on Sunday 13th, only available from then or only available until then?

This is Aldi's approach with lots of offers. Twice a week they'll get stock in on the basis that when it's gone, it's gone. Their 'release schedule' is available on their website. Of you turn up late on the day popular items can already be sold out. Not so popular deals can still be available weeks later.

I am not, I use a standard Logitech keyboard as an avid gamer and have absolutely no problems. I steer clear of "gaming" branded products like the plague, the fact this has 18 anti ghosting keys is actually quite reassuring...

Update: Purchased blue version today (keyboard only).
The letters are simply stickers.
There is a blue backlight between the keys only - basically a gimmick.
You cannot type in the dark with the blue keyboard that I purchased, as you can't see the letters on the keys.
I'm interested to see if there might be different versions out there - and if maybe - I got a previous iteration.
It's going back.

Just bought the red one, keys don't illuminate as above, it's a backlight behind the keys which makes the stuck on letters on the keys difficult to read, the picture on the Aldi site makes it look as if the keyboard has illuminated keys but they aren't, they must have shone a light or taken the photo with a flash for the webpage.
The letters are just stickers and the keys aren't rubber domed as specified on the product webpage;
Shame as when I removed it from the box it looks good, going to try actually gaming with it before I make up my mind.
Edit - won't let me post the name of the website, just puts **** instead, the product code is 68393

Bought the blue lit one, was impressed with the weight, doesn't feel like a tenner, pretty well made, however - the lighting - oh dear.
I have a few keyboards that are back lit, so I thought get one as a back up, in fact I was going to let my mate have this, as he has worn the keys off the Saitek one I gave him, but this is just, as previously mentioned, a light around the board.
I put a lit board in the laptop I am on now, because I could not see diddly, but they are proper etched keys, this 'Maxtrick' is a nice light, but as its so bright, (which would normally be a good thing) you need the torch Aldi have in at the mo, to see the damn keys!
I have seen ones with see through keys at least, for a fiver more, so no, the packaging and advertising are deceiving, as many would deem it to show some light through the keys, even if they had made the tampo on the keys, a brighter colour, would have helped!!
Pros -
Well made.
Light is bright Cons
You need glow paint for the keys (if you have dimmed rooms like myself)
Doesn't do what it portrays (lights only not tried the game side)
Not bad, but useless for what I needed it for, returning it.

I'm using one now. It's not bad at all, though the light is around the keys and does not illuminate the lettering. pulse with 3 speeds (not constant, almost a heartbeat) on or off. windows lock key too which is handy for those with a habit of going to the start menu mid-game. Suprisingly thin and the shortcut buttons are plug-n-play effective too. The keys themselves are ok enough but can have a tendency to stick if you do not plant the key vertically and catch it at an angle. Best of all I can now use shift+ctrl+W+D without missing the W or D key now.

It definitely does do the gaming anti-ghosting - some other keyboards might look better / have illuminated keys, but may lack this if they do not actually specify it, and just say "gaming keyboard".

26 Nov 16#68
Yes the dark blue or red colour used for the keys, is really hard to read unless you have a light that is shining onto the keyboard, with the backlight dimmed down it helps you find keys if you know where they are but that feature is a bit crap. Keyboard itself seems ok, home and email function keys, volume and media keys, build feels quite solid.
Mouse has far dimmer lighting but unlike keyboard you can't switch it off either. Double click button, forward and reverse buttons, as well as standard scroll wheel so handy for web browsing as well as gaming.
