Hot, bought one from Amazon Italy a month or so ago , arrived quickly and no problems.
It works well, but does get very very hot, so still trying to adjust to that.

I purchased from Amazon.it the other day, Amazon UK had taken the item down some time ago and it was still under review - looks like it is back up now.
Anyway, despite me ordering from Amazon.it it was dispatched from the UK and arrived the next day, even though I'd selected the cheap delivery option on Amazon.it!
I thought the same thing, it was the first thing that jumped out at me flicking through the book, I did find it odd that there were so many recipes for pizza - just chuck what you want on!
To clarify, the recipe book is Italian, the instructions and manual is in all EU languages, including English.

It gets a lot hotter than an oven. 390c. Crispy base and cooked toppings with a soft dough in between. You need to make your own. But these are really good. My Mrs was skeptical of me wasting my money. She's a convert now. Pizza is on the menu every week now. But you must make your own dough!!

Disappointed with mine. The stone plate has developed a 4 inch hairline crack almost immediately and it's probably not too long before it fails completely. It burns too easily and the only way to clean is to leave on high heat to burn off the residue - not very efficient.
Jayo to missleading
8 Dec 15#46
Mine is exactly the same. I've just had a return and refund authorised from Amazon and I'm awaiting a collection from DPD. I got the black one when it was posted on HUKD at £79.99 at the end of October. The crack on mine is barely visible when the stone is cold, but when it gets hot it's really noticeable. I've had to take a photo and print it off and sellotape it to the machine with an arrow pointing to where the crack is so the returns department don't think I'm pulling their leg! I've only used it four times. I'm not sure whether I'm going to risk ordering another one. I wonder how many others have hairline cracks but don't notice them.
But, asides that, it is an amazing bit of kit!

10p to cook 2 pizzas, so expensive. I can either warm up my whole oven at 1kw for 15 mins then cook 2 pizzas for 15mins. Or i can warm up this up at 1.2kw in 7/8 mins then cook 2 pizzas in 15 mins. 0.2kw difference for 30 mins is hardly breaking the bank.

I bought this in August for my wife's birthday and we have nearly gone through a 25kg bag of Caputo pizzeria flour since! We have 2kg left. I have used a lot making bread along with pizza probably once a week, but its saved a lot on shopping trips purely for bread. The pizza dough does keep sat in the garage for maybe 4-5 days. (Which is off the kitchen) probably longer!
For a cheap quick meal whipping up a pizza with a dough ball and pasta sauce and grated mozzarella topped with a bit of salami and whatever else takes minutes. Garlic bread with cheese pizza bases are also nice. Literal must cost under 20p per garlic bread and 50p per pizza if buying in bulk! If you have a bread machine, its really easy! Just do the dough in there, and portion up for a second rise. Look on YouTube, or the previous thread! It really is the best thing we've bought for the kitchen. It will offset the ripoff nespresso machine I've bought for my wife for Christmas! 30p per coffee! Although I must admit its nice.

8 Dec 15#49
Nope. I just let mine cool naturally and I don't use anything to clean it, I just gently rub off any residue with my hands when it has cooled. The hairline crack was there before I even turned it on for the first time, but by the 4th use it had got bigger.

I bought one from a re-seller on Amazon and it's superb - came with a UK plug. I bought my parents one as an early christmas present direct from Amazon and it came with a 2 pin plug. We cut the plug off and fitted a UK plug and all is well (they love it too). If you look on Amazon they have identified there is an issue with them at the moment - it'll be the plug issue; but it's not a deal breaker to have to swap a plug over.
Ours gets used 2 or 3 times a week and we love it. Real nice pizzas. We make our dough in the breadmaker - no fuss and it just gets on with it.

bought one of these a few months ago for around £65. amazing pizzas just make sure its really hot before use. i set the temp to 2.5 and turn it up to 3 just before i put the pizza in. Try not to open the lid before its ready to keep in all the heat. takes a bit of getting used to but the results are superb once you have the hang of it

No malice, Wild9, I know some posts can seem irksome, but I was just pointing out the importance of getting as much info as possible - even the seemingly irksome - to help make an informed opinion.
The point about having an oven is relevant imo in that all of us sometimes have a tendency to buy without first asking ourselves 'do I really need this?'
Also it was a genuine question and some people gave really good answers re quality/taste etc (again informative and helpful - I especially liked the idea of getting the kids/grandkids involved in making the dough  and perhaps that information might not have been volunteered had the question not been asked?).
Ultimately, I think it's important that everyone should feel able to post their views without fear of being given a hard time, as they all help us in making an informed decision.

8 Dec 151#75
Again, I didn't refer to the questions people are asking just the statements of "fact" that people who don't have any experience of the item are making. As neither of us are forum police we will have to agree to disagree on methods even if I think we both have the same ideal :-)
Jayo
8 Dec 151#76
No I didn't have to pay return postage because it's a faulty item, I just got told DPD will be collecting tomorrow. I'm pretty sure Amazon refund whatever you paid for postage once they receive the item (they will check the postage label to see how much you paid) so in your case it should be refunded. Maybe items of a certain size get courier collection? This is only the second item I've had to return to Amazon.
Jayo
8 Dec 15#77
That's really good because you can keep on using the original until it's well and truly knackered!
It'll probably be because it'd cost you about £20 or more to return.

I bought a projector from amazon.it as was over £100 cheaper than the uk site. It developed a fault and like the other poster I had no problem whatsoever. They sent me a new one when I got it I sent mine back which cost a fortune, they refunded the postage charges within 2 days and I actually made out of it, must have been due to the exchange rate. Also buying the projector from Italy I got 2 years warranty compared to 1 on amazon uk, so I would have no problem using them again. Now when's my pizza oven getting here, cant wait!
bhoy78
8 Dec 15#79
Sorry Jayo misread your post, assumed you had bought from amazon.it. If you have a return to amazon in the UK then return postage is free, it is only when returning items to amazon in another country that you pay for postage and reclaim it.

Given the much higher cost on Amazon UK, I thought some enterprising UK seller, even Amazon UK itself, could still profit by importing from Italy then reselling from Amazon UK. Well... I was rather disappointed with Amazon Italy... the consignment said it was delivered at 10:30PM on the Sunday evening (13th December) before it was due to arrive (it said Monday Delivery 14th December) . It took them till today to refund me after "chasing" up the information from the courier. Looks like a local delivery driver decided to pocket it for himself so one less xmas present arriving this winter! Will not be ordereding from Amazon Italy again though after this first and bad experience, I was really hoping for some nice Pizza this past week too! Amazon logistics courier also have some making up to do on this occasion after seeminly losing my order yet saying it was delivered on a bloody Sunday evening when companies aren't delivering.
