It worked. Thanks to Neale931. Just adding to the users who were not able to book. Look for Travelodge with Saver(non refundable) and Flexi (cancel before anytime) options and Select Saver option as some travelodge only have option as Flexi where it is not working. It is very much cheaper but double check if you are sure you are travelling to the place on that date. Login, then apply the discount code. you will see the discount applied.

Stayed in Travelodge Whitstable (Thanet Way) in November, family room.
Room was recently done up, spotlessly clean, bathroom and shower were excellent. HD TV with all Freeview channels, teamaking facilities and WiFi for 2 devices included. Room was well soundproofed.
Price was a bargain for a family of 4 (£36).
People use outdated experiences to criticise Travelodge, but they are modernising all the hotels and the updated ones put much more expensive hotels to shame.

Highly recommend Hackney for London. It's only in zone 2 and the hotel is literally right by Hackney central overground station. This connects very easily to the Victoria line. It's also the best tlodge I've been in with a proper decent TV with full HD channels and all free view channels! I got 2 nights for £34, £17 a night! Don't forget 5% topcashback.
There's also McDonald's, kfc, Wetherspoons (£2.99 top quality full English until 12) huge high St with loads of shops all nearby. Hackney empire theatre and picture house cinema about five min walk.

I just stayed at Edinburgh (the Royal Mile one) and paid £16 for one night (using the £15 discount code from here), they can give you a free Sunday all they like, but it's just marketing, if anyone has paid more than £60 (barring the London ones) for the two nights, they've been done.

13 Dec 15#73
Were you expecting the Ritz Carlton for your £35 a night? They're normally clean and the beds are OK, if all you need is a bed for the night they're absolutely fine. I prefer Premier Inns because of the locations and the fact that they normally have a pub/restaurant on site, but they're often twice the price - far more if you buy an evening meal, a couple of pints, and breakfast.
chuckley
13 Dec 15#74
so if they offer breakfast you're 'not allowed to book it'?
what about people that travel with kids, those that have to leave early in the morning? You're not allowed to eat there before you go?
You can actually get cheaper rooms for £29 a night with brekkie included that in general are just miles better than travelodge. hell you can even get premier inn for slightly more than TL, but at least you're actually getting the full service with them for the cost.
don't offer/let people book services if you're going to moan when they want to use them. which is what TL do. Haven't stayed in one since. I'd rather pay an extra fiver for regular service.
a bit like the NHS. if you want 'normal' service, you need to be private or you're getting second class treatment, if at all.

My experience is that their hotels vary wildly in standard - some are probably a step down from spending the night in your car instead; others, usually the newer ones or ones that have had recent refurbs are ok and up to the same level as Premier Inns.
androoski to loop
16 Dec 15#119
I suppose if your car had a shower, bath, wash basin and toilet then you might have a point.
If staying in a budget hotel then you need the bed to be clean and Travelodge usually get that right,
A good functioning bathroom, which again they do well enough, and quiet - which usually depends on how considerate other guests are, and can be just as bad in a posh hotel as anywhere else.

No thanks.
If staying in a budget hotel then you need the bed to be clean and Travelodge usually get that right,
A good functioning bathroom, which again they do well enough, and quiet - which usually depends on how considerate other guests are, and can be just as bad in a posh hotel as anywhere else.
