From what I read it wasn't just the policy of searching staff (there are no doubt other companies that do the same, probably with similar effect on staff morale) but that the compulsory search is done outside working hours and potentially breaches minimum wage legislation as a result given the low hourly rate paid.

Agree, Sports Direct practises are nothing compared to the effects on human life and dignity that Primark, H&M and Zara have. People should watch this over Christmas.
After seeing this earlier in the year, both myself and other half stopped shopping in all fast fashion stores. We save up now and buy stuff that will last a long time and from what we can tell have a supply chain where staff are paid properly.
We've thrown out or given away tons of H&M and Zara clothes over the years. Guilty, and that documentary was a needed boot up the backside.

Did you know that clothes in M&S , Primark, Tesco F&F, Asda George, etc. come from Bangladesh. There has been a few documentaries and news stories evidencing the fact that all own brand stock (80% of what they sell in store) comes in with discount stickers already on. The RRP on these items is inflated to make it look like huge discounts are being applied. Both Watchdog and Dispatches have done reports on this. Also remember to remove all the crap they put in your online basket you did not want.
