The £15 digital deal was posted several times. On a deals website, I wouldn't say that information was irrelevant.
Note: I didn't suggest for a second most people don't still prefer physical. That may be true; I simply made the point that there was a cheaper alternative. There are some who prefer digital copies (anecdotally, me and most of my friends) and digital game sales increased by 7% year on year from a previous distribution of 52:48 in favour of digital (although admittedly that includes mobile games). Compare that to PC sales which are more than 92% digital and provided pricing remains competitive, I anticipate consoles will catch up quickly. Physical copies aren't going anywhere, but digital sales will only increase in the short and long-term.

Steam is different because without resale, you expect to get the games and keys cheap from various sources and generally you do.
For consoles I would nearly always prefer a disc because it will still have some sell on value. When the games are more expensive on console anyway and many not ones I would bother investing all that much time in, I can get rid after I had my fill. It sounds elitist but indeed, so few console games these days are anything more than a quick blast and dump. Casual audience.
Most of the kind of PC games I would buy and keep however end up getting played extensively to warrant that- mods, tweaks and user generated content etc add value to keeping the games

I don't think it's elitist at all and it's a fair point - look at how many console games have a multiplayer mode tacked on for the sake of it because of the success of Call of Duty (in the past).
I've become a lot more picky about which games I play, so it doesn't affect me as much, but in the past, I've blasted through the likes of LA Noire on launch weekend and therefore lost nothing on the trade in.
These days all I really play is COD/FIFA/Forza which I'll keep for the duration of the console's useful lifespan, so happy with digital versions of these if they're reasonably priced.

It seems I buy games to look good on my shelf, not to play. Hence physical version for me. Still havent completed any X1 nor PS4 game despite owning most games released so far. Spend more time hunting for deals that playing.

I would usually agree, but this generation I can't be bothered with disks. My XBOX One came with a digital download version of FIFA, which is worth pennies within 11 months anyway and it's means no strain on the laser.
Picked up Forza Horizon 2 in the digital sale (still need to complete FH1 on the 360 mind), as it won't be worth much to trade in by the time I finally get around to playing it.
Completely see the merit to both sides, but in the same way some people will watch a film if it comes on the Sky guide but wouldn't put the DVD in, I'm the same with video games these days. Probably because I only get about 2/3 hours a week to play on it, but PC owners are in a similar situation with Steam and no resale value at all.

Dammit, I paid £20 from ShopTo via Ebay on Friday. Great price! (Begrudging) Heat from me!

Irrelevant how cheap it is digitally. Post a deal for that though if you want.
Note: Most people still prefer physical media, and will for a long time.

Great game. Just got offline from giving this a thrash and spotted this deal.

Each to their own. I would rather buy digitally and not have any physical media. Both good prices.

I went for the £15 live version. It's a great game, not a huge racing game but the fact I can blast around the countryside in an old land rover 90 and use old classics is awesome

Wasn't this £15 direct through the Xbox digital store this week?

Even if it was, I'd rather pay the extra £2.85 to have a physical copy that I can actually sell on in the future if I choose to.
It's never been this low in price, such a great game - hot.

Nice find! Just bought it! Loved Horizon on 360. Forza 6 for £22.99 means both for £40 haha. Awesome.
