Was just looking for a fitbit for the wife and noticed that M&S had reduced the price of the Charge HR to around what Argos and Amazon was asking for a couple of weeks ago. They appear to have both small and large in black and plum. Hope it helps somebody.

Can anyone confirm whether the M & S plum one has the pink bit on the side where the button is please?
I wanted a purple one for my young son, as it's his favourite colour & only M & S seemed to have one that's all purple, but sometimes they photoshop the pic. Thanks in advance

I wear mine all the time including in the shower - never had any problems (touch wood)!
I take it off to go swimming - read some reviews which advises against wearing it. The display fogs over.
If you try to order the Large Black one it lets you go through a few screens and still says it is out of stock, despite them having removed the "out of stock" text that was saving people wasting time trying. Perhaps they are about to make another batch active. Will keep checking.

Wondering if we'll see further price reductions from other sellers for Black Friday. Could see this go down to £60 - that's my wish!

I'm really not sure. I really want it in blue though, may order one and see if someone else can provide the blue at the same or better price

It quite clearly does have something to do with this post. He was pointing out a potentially better option, which could be useful for people looking at this post....

The Charge HR is definitely not waterproof. It is splashproof though, but more "wash your hands" than showering.

I don't think it's fully waterproof. Well they say it's OK in the rain but to take it off for swimming or in the shower. That said I'm sure I read comments from people who said they had swum with it and it was OK, personally I won't risk it with mine. I do periodically quickly wash and then dry mine - I had to because for the first few weeks it was causing skin irritation. I suspect that even though FitBit say they have solved the irritation problems of the older models there is still something unpleasant being leached out of the plastic. Actually considering how much they cost I think it's pretty poor that there is any issue at all.

The Polar H7 strap HR monitor is bluetooth 4.0 and cheaper still. You can use it with your phone/tablet and is much more accurate and versatile.
So what. Thats got nothing to do with this post. pointless and irritating that i read your comment and irritating i needed to reply. irritating. if only i had something to measure my pulse.

Before I purchase can anyone explain how the music works on the Surge? It's the only extra above the HR that I'd be after, but if I still have to carry my iPhone with me so it can connect, it wouldn't be worth it?? I'm Googling as I speak but it hasn't become clear yet? I can't see a headphone access point either?

You can't play music through any model i'm pretty sure. I think you just control the music same as you do any smartwatch. Have a look on the fit bit website for more information.
