I've never played this game, although I knew a lot about it. I have watched the film Advent Children and I have always wanted to try the game. Now this deal come out, I have finally decided to buy it. I've been missing out so much for the last 18 years! Epic story, characters, everything!

How are people finding this? I'm loving it so much!!! I must have completed this game at least 6 times and loving playing through it again, no cheats mind you!

I was 12 when this came out in 1997, along with the original Grand Theft Auto, needless to say these were amongst the two best games I ever played on the PS1, oh and FF VIII and IX! They just don't make them like this anymore.

Had to go for it to play again and earn trophies, Emerald weapon though man that was hardest battle ever and longest!!! The themes amazing to!! Will I platinum before new year??? hmmm

I remember buying this as my first ever RPG for ps1, and I couldn't believe what I was playing. It was the slowest, most boring game I'd ever had the misfortune to play...I tried to get with it (seeing as I had spent a fortune on it) but gave up after several hours. The plot was convoluted as hell but still could have been written by a 12 year old. Terrible, terrible game imo.

Bought it, had to give in, I already own the PS1 discs but the 1080p and trophy support plus just ease of it being installed on ps4 is worth it, plus I had £5 credit on my PSN from the shopto ps+ deal.

I've got xenoblade too but FFVII changed the way I played and viewed video games. It's the classic of my childhood, I'm 32 now and it's still an amazing game to play.

Will be interesting to see the new stuff. This is probably the game I've completed most times (excluding short games like Lylat Wars) and the new trailer had me slightly giddy. :P

I've often wondered how this game must be for new players, this game converted me to the genre, though I do wonder if time means it'll be underwhelming in some ways to newcomers, especially as for all the people who love 7, there are plenty of people who are very critical of it, particularly people who prefer 4 or 6 or whatever. One of those iconic games though that is well worth at least trying and personally it's still my favourite in the series by a mile (not played through 2, 5 or 12 and didn't finish 3 though I doubt those would change my mind :smile:).

I like that you can speed things up by pressing the left analog stick in and you can get max hp/mp pressing the right analog stick in. But it does kinda take the experience away.

I owned this back on ps1, it was on 3 disk and I still have it. I also took 4 days off sick so I could play it as I was hooked immediately. This was my first time playing an rpg (unless you count grannies garden on the BBC B) and that experience has never been replicated so I might just hold on for a while.

Oh what the hell. I remember buying the original from WH Smith in 1997. I remember an incredible FMV scene that played out once I'd reached the top of this facility and beat a boss. I was blown away. I can't recall many video games from before where there'd be things like the gym mini game where you had to work out doing squats rhythmically with the buttons - like an early guitar hero or something. It was so good no one even minded the token black dude who was typically all muscles, and guns - with most of his dialogue sounding like it was carved out of a self-motivational speech out of Rocky and/or Mr T from the A-team. Because he was AWESOME.

The hours I spent on that game. The hours I spent figuring out how Cloud could physically be able to carry that sword.

If a PS4 is all you own then at the current price of £8.99 it's worth it. However, if you own a PS3, PSP or Vita I'd recommend the PS1 classic version at £1 cheaper. It's exactly the same apart from Trophies and works across all three systems. Great for when you're on the go and want to carry on from where you left off.

I do hope they release the PS4 theme separately though. Just saw a video of it and the remixed Aeris theme sent shivers down my spine and transported me back to 1999 when I first played the game. This game's beautiful soundtrack is timeless.
