Great film.

From acclaimed writer/director Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine) comes Ex_Machina, a chilling vision of the not-too-distant future of artificial intelligence.

I agree - one of the best films of the year for me too. I can kind of see why some people didn't like it...no car chases, explosions or heroes to "whoop whoop"! This is one for those with an active thought process :smiley:

it is such a Marmite film clearly. don't expect action, instead expect a very clever and well developed theory. bl00dy brilliant film. there's a reason why so many people rate it in their highest ranking films of the year.

I found this extremely... boring! I did give it an hour but then gave up. like the film Moon that everyone was banging on about. A film like this needs intensity, 'Gravity' intensity. It feels like that sort of film but doesn't have it. Either way good price for bluray. just my opinion.

No offence intended but I don't think you can give an opinion on a film when you've only part watched it. How do you know there wasn't intensity in the remaining 46 minutes? Some great films are only defined in their closing scenes and this film came to quite an intense ending. Patience is a virtue, as they as say :smiley:

Ummmm...this isn't the ending. I mean, it should be. For the whole film I thought it would be a great twist if that was to happen, but this guy was joking. This is not the end of the film. Relax.

This movie had real potential, but it was let down by a soppy romantic story and the ending was a real disappointment it does however sum up women quite perfectly even if they are robots ;P

Disliking a movie that's not an action movie because it lacks action scenes is an interesting concept.

I watched this recently on Sly Movies and thought it was great. It wouldn't be if you're expecting action but me and the wife were engrossed in it. Loved the ending.
