Price had gone back up for a few days since the Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales, but it has been reduced again to £20. I believe this is also on offer at Game, but for those who want the digital version, or do not have a Game store locally, its back to its lowest price on the Xbox Marketplace.

It looks like all international markets have it reduced as well, so can be had for about £10 from Indian store etc.

The Indian market seems to be the cheapest for all versions.
The other two versions are £28.00 and £36.70. I've no idea on what extra you get with the other two versions.
Free DL from this 5pm today until the 13th. 63gb download though!

Yeah, it's free this weekend. Gonna give it a blast and see if it's worth a purchase.

The 'premium' edition is a pretty great price digitally too. 5,500 coins + imperial edition content + the game. Enough to buy one expansion and almost the second (in fact I'm not sure if the 5,500 includes the 500 you get free with the game...)

So that last bundle is pretty good if you want Crowns too? about £19 on the Indian market; 5,500 crowns by themselves are £19.19 on the UK market!

Apparently if you play the free trial you get 60%off as well, but I don't know what the selling price will be based on

10 Dec 15#9
Yep! That's an insanely good price. You actually get 500 with the game anyway, just checked. I have 6000 in my account. That's enough to get the Imperial City dlc (2500), new Orsinium dlc (3000) and still have 500 crowns to spare. Good value from the UK store, crazy good value from other regions. Never thought about getting crown bundles from other regions... But now you mention it I'm definitely doing that!!

Been playing trial this evening on PC .. so far good .. will consider the PC version specifically because of mods ..

The only mods are UI ones, they're handy but non-essential.
Most of the microtransactions are just cosmetic - different creature mounts, pets etc. There's 2 DLCs now, (which you can buy seperately for about £10-£13 or subscribe for a monthly fee and have access to all of them for the duration of the sub) but the amount of content in the base game itself is already vast. The good thing about ESO is the game was designed around being subscription-based, so you don't get any of the **** XP grind which gives you a nudge nudge wink wink to buy XP boosts. Instead there's XP boosts in the store, but they're literally just making things faster than the game was originally designed.

Be cAreful buying this from other regions, these games sometimes have region issues,.not sure about this one but its worth checking out to be sure.
I have a feeling they might F2P this soon.

It already went from a subscription model to Buy to Play. I don't think it will be changing again

Does that mean it's full of microtransactions?

Yeah, like other MMO's there's lots of vastly over priced cosmetic junk. I will never complain about having to pay £7.99 for a piece of story dlc after playing this (my first MMO). Some of the armour skins motifs retail for 5000 which when crowns aren't on sale cost around £30ish. For a single motif that can only be used on a single character.
You see people in highly populated areas sitting on their new mounts, obviously cheesing that they've bought the latest over priced pile of junk. I can safely say I don't look at these people and think "Wow, you're the dugs baws because that mount looks smart. I must get one.", it's more along the lines of "A fool and his money ..."
The only dlc i consider to be worth the investment (barring the proper story dlc) is either the Imperial upgrade or explorer's package. I'd go more for the Imperial one as you get a horse which is needed unless you love walking on foot for weeks on end. If you go to Cyrodiil for the PvP, then you really, really do need a horse. Alternatively, just save up 10k in-game gold and get yourself a horse free. But I think that 10k is better spent on inventory and bank upgrades.

I might be wrong on this, but I think you can find the motiffs in the world as random rare drops. I'm not sure if there's some which can only be bought or what, but I believe most can be found.

Yup, but good luck with the grind for the newer ones and very good luck finding an imperial one. There's a reason they've made the likes of glass a hideous grind. Then there's the XP recipe. That makes the full glass motif look relatively grind free. I also don't like how they've made the high tier material rarer and require hundreds of pieces just to make a single item.
It seems everything they're now implementing is to push the CS store down our throats.

What makes you so sure? Its worked this way for other MMOs that have become a success because of it.

This is another reason i wouldnt be surprised to see this go F2p very soon. GW2 followed a very similar path and now nearly all new armour/glider/weapon skins are released in the gemstore. Once items are attractive and sell well on the store, the devs can go F2P and make more money from that than actual sales a year or two into the games life.

Has anyone tried buying Crown packs from different region stores, e.g India??
For sure, it's natural they take that approach. But at least it's cosmetic stuff. The actual gameplay DLCs seem pretty fairly priced when compared to the added content these days in other games as DLC.

Because they have already changed their model once. They went from subscription to the Guild Wars 2 (with optional sub) model which is rather than paying monthly sub buy the game and then it's yours... Why would they change it again? It would be really bad press!

I had same for india. Try Russia, worked a charm for me. 9.54 for 5500 crowns is awesome.
No problem! I've not actually tried any so I'm not sure but from what I gather Orsinium is PVE focused and is the latest dlc, apparently it's good stuff. Imperial City is a mix of both PVE and PvP I believe, 5500 will get you both those dlcs and at 9.54 from the Russian store that seems like really good value for both.

Cheers think I'll take the orsinium pack with the pet and polar bear mount and get the imperial city when points are on sale again
Edit
Decided to go for the two expansions as the mounts apear all to be the same stats the only diffence is cosmetic as riding skill govens how good a mount is

So there are no problems with regions if you buy from the russian store?

Nope, bought multiple games from there that have been shared on HUKD. I wasn't sure if there would be any issues with crowns being in-game currency but seems absolutely fine, all showing up in my account in game.
