I got (myself) an X5C-1 for xmas. Wish this rain and wind would do one so I can get it outside for a proper play. I've mastered flying it up and down the stairs, and can take off from the floor and land it on the kitchen worktop, but really want to get it out in the open! Having fun chasing the cats for now though.
Do you have the X5C? I'm struggling a little with trim, just can't find the sweet spot for hovering!

That Bob's a special kind of guy...not only has he "got one of these" but he's "shore" he's going to get one when they're in stock.
I wonder if he's watched too many 12 Monkeys episodes?.

I saw this at my local ALDI a couple days ago - it's worth noting that these are NOT made out of plastic, and simply cheap POLYSTYRENE - doesn't look too sturdy in my opinion and not worth the price.

Right, so an energy absorbing material is worse than a brittle one with a device that's prone to crash?
Okayyyy then.....

That camera won't even get DVD quality footage, better off saving your money and put it towards a decent one like a parrot drone at least I would imagine.

All a bit too much big brother stuff for me' these things are just dangerous' menacing and just down right nosey.
It's a good job one of mine works there and has side lined one just for me

I have an X5C yes. It is very light and hence very susceptible to the effects of wind but for the money it is great.
I've had to buy a few spares such as motors and prop guards but that's to be expected.

All the comments here just affirm how people are ruining it for others. If you buy one of these, fly it legally!!

What does anyone actually do with them apart from a few photographers and film makers?

Same thing people do with R/C helicopters, R/C planes, R/C boats....

depends how much you want to spend. My plastic one D700 drone has survived so many crashes it deserves a medal! a polystyrene one will snap with the slightest pressure. but hey, don't take my word for it, knock yourself out and get this one if that's what you want...

And you assume I have no experience with RC devices. Foam based survive a lot better than plastic ones do.
