Came across this in Argos while looking for a mobile for my elderly Aunt. Had to share. I am sure I am not the only one searching for a mobile for an elderly person. Comes with charger and headphones includes radio. Very basic easy to use. Comes in White also. 5 Star rated.

Agree. The deal is Free Delivery and a Free Sim of your choice.
Are you having a problem ordering DevilD as I am not.

I am not sure raj75. I cannot go ahead and change my aunt's number, definitely not my place.

CPW deal is £5 for phone. £20 for Topup. So overall £25 (£5 cheaper than Argos deal).
You can use existing SIM with the phone.

Actually, that phone is available on an upgrade deal from CPW for just £2.99 ... click on "upgrade" (near top right, in the box just above the big orange 'view deals' button) on the previously-linked Carphone page.
And on that basis, sadly, I think the Argos deal is pretty cold.

I did look into that! They would have to send my Aunt a code then they would cut off her existing phone. Not much of a present in that case.

think these are 2.99 on upgrade at carphonewarehouse.i decided on the nokia 215 for a tenner instead as it has a camera.i have a o2 sim that i never top up and they let me upgrade with it six times in 2015
The Doro is tailored toward a completely different demographic with many features for the elderly (like an emergency dial button or a dedicated display for ICE details) and those who want complete simplicity with large bright text and well spaced keys.

Where did you get that rubbish from?
They send a code to check she 'owns' the number; it doesn't cut anyone off.
If you buy without the above process, you'd have the same phone and sim card with a £20 topup which you could even donate to the charity of your choice.

Doro phones are great for the elderly. We got my Mum the flip version two years ago. She absolutely loves it. It's so user friendly and easy to use, she was used to it in minutes.
However as this is £5 cheaper at CPW then cold for this deal.

Although the Doros are marketed at "the elderly", they could be greatly improved.
My elderly parent has the basic flip one without camera. Poor points include tiny display of remaining battery and signal strength, and (IIRC) residual numbers displayed (and not cleared down) after calling the answering machine.
The flip has three dedicated speed-dial buttons, as well as having speed-dial capability on the number keys (AND the panic button on the back).
And (important for some) a bundled charging cradle - plugging in a micro usb can be very difficult when your eyes or hands don't work as well as they used to.
Most-liked feature is answering by opening the flip, and hanging up by just closing the thing!
Pity they are only 2G, which means not being able to use on the 3 network.
Nevertheless at £2.99 for that upgrade deal on the non-flip at CPW, it would be a great 'upgrade' for anyone with declining capabilities.

Just don't go with EE, their "Pay as you go" service is basically now either £1 per week or £10 per month under a different guise. They basically apply the pack whether you want it or not, and take the money out of the credit each month or week.

I am surprised that not many other companies are not looking at easy phones for old people
in the next 10-20 years there will be millions who will be looking for phones and we will only think of doro when we want a easy phone and it will be too late for the others by then
I also got one of these for my dad who suffered a stroke as well as being old he feels safe with the emergency phone button on the back he knows one press and we all come running
the only down side is his eyes are bad and we would have liked a better screen so he could see it easier
but over all a bargain to give old people contact with the outside world
