They should replicate what Nintendo of America are doing and discount eshop games - these deals are no use to me, I have them and only paid a little extra for most of them physically.

Such a lame Black Friday for Nintendo fans. I know that Nintendo games hold their value (I've been a fan for years) but £24 for a digital copy of a 2 year old game is not a Black Friday deal. I've been trying to buy another Wii U (for my Nephew) and Nintendo hardly has a presence anywhere this year. Amazon had a lightning deal (so good they ran it twice) of a Zelda bundle at £239! I paid £199 for mine 2-3 years ago!

I might as well copy paste this from my day one post, the net result would be £22.79 for either game and you'd also be left with £1.01 credit:

You're absolutely right and more people who complain about digital pricing should know that
gizmo2501

Nope. People forget that just because there is no packaging doesn't mean it's cheaper. The company has to pay for servers to be available to download that game... potentially forever. That is very costly.
Gamer_U
28 Nov 15#35
Nintendo should be charging way less because it's just digital copies so you're never going to own a physical copy of it and in Wii U's case it's more or less a case of always 'rental' situation.

There are zero games on the PS4 I'm interested in, therefore it's a rip off and should be given out for free. Moronic. I actually had to explain that to you... Show me mercy, please, and don't reply back... my brain can't take any more of this lowbrow conversation.

Whats so moronic please explain : I was talking about myself and I can see only 5 games interestig and worth my time.
or are are telling me there is a rich and huge library of good games that somehow I haven't even heard of?

People never seem to take in to account that Wii U games are about 25% cheaper than the other consoles and there are no online fees. This is a big deal to me. £40 - £50 is too much got a game for me. £25 - £35 is much better.

Nope. You can buy Digital Download cards with a redeem code on for the game.
Hoping mario maker goes down before xmas
luckysalt1

So if you have bought a Wii U for xmas you can't access these games until you boot up the actual console? Not like Sony where you can buy any game on the Playstation store?

I think you see 'fanboyism' in everyone else because you don't want to see it in yourself. Only 5 games... what a moronic comment. Please.

I would agree with the opinion that when compared to the ps4, its easy to see where the value is at for year on year AAA gaming, but the Wiiu is UNRIVALLED when it comes to unique, timeless gaming experiences. Fact of the matter is witcher 3 and fall out 4 will be old news by next fall, whereas I still revisit MK8, smash and splatoon regularly. Wiiu holds value for the generation, I dont trade in my wiiu games nor do I ever feel unsatisfied. I constantly trade in ps4 games and search for my next 'fix' as most games have failed to hold my attention i.e. Witcher 3, COD, Destiny, Batman etc.
Tequila
28 Nov 151#23
Don't get too carried away with fanboyism..PS4 for Knack and Killzone? How about Fallout and Witcher..you are understimating the reality..that Wii U deal you mentioned was nothing special and not worth it.those games were prei stalled thus no resale value if you were not into them.also good luck selling pro controller.no one wants it.your calculation was a little off.
And about being cheap..its not the case,I have multiple consoles but I won't pay 240 for a dead console with 5 interesting games.its just not right.its a rip off.

I've paid my money and I've bought pretty much every first party game for Wii U. I still don't think this is a deal and I still think that Nintendo ballsed up this Black Friday.

I was talking to those moaning about console prices. You've been able to get Bayonetta 2 for £15 for a while... There's always deals on Wii U games... could have had Lego City Undercover for £6 last week if you were quick. I agree, the actual game deal seems poor to me and you, however, as hard as it is to imagine, there are tons of people out there who love to buy digitally (crazy I know) and as far as eShop prices go.... these were cheap!!!
And since when is 'Black Friday' a thing in the UK anyway.... IT'S AMERICAN, PEOPLE... we celebrating Thanksgiving as well now?
The UK's Black Friday is the January sales, isn't it? And even those have been pretty rubbish for around 5 odd years... so why is Black Friday UK suddenly going to be this amazing thing?
There was a great deal on a Wii U bundle - FACT.
Quite a few deals for 3DS consoles - FACT.
No great deals on 'precisely' what individuals wanted - that's life.
XCX drops next week, I pre-orded for £32, is that a reasonable price for a massive JRPG with 100s upon 100s of hours of game play? A brand new AAA title... for £32... name me one other current gen home console where I can buy a new release AAA game for that price, and play it online without having to buy a subscription of some kind?
But Wii U is unfairly priced, right?
Yeah right.
gizmo2501

Yep, that was a good deal. And there is so much to be had from the console at the normal price anyway.

Honestly, you guys complaining need to just get off the pot and pay.
You could have had one with MK8 & Splatoon for £230 yesterday with a Pro Controller included... with the games and pro controller you were getting a Premium Wii U for around £130....
Sorry, but how cheap are you... ???
If you want cheap games get a PS4 and play Knack and Killzone Shadow Fall see if the poor experiences in those games satisfy you. (psssst...pro tip... they won't).

That's because it was heavily promoted as the cheapest place to buy a Wii U in the States. And because it was online most people probably bought it from there.

I agree, very poor indeed,I was really hoping to finally pick a Wii U console at a decent price, there was no deal, last year there were deals for Premium Wii U with few games 180ish..Im not going to pay 240+ for a end of the line console just to play 5-6 games.no matter how much I like those games.
I bet many share the same opinion.

Completely agree. That's what I've been saying. I have all these games, they're of zero use to me. Also, America is getting a much better deal. Theirs lasts a week, has 25 games, bigger discounts and aren't limited to a day to purchase the games. Nintendo are stingy [email protected]@rds. And yes in a lot of cases the physical games can be bought for the same price as Nintendo are charging digitally albeit some perhaps secondhand. Only a few weeks ago The Wonderful 101 was a £12.85 deal on this site.
