This is a bigger steal than Hans Gruber tries to pull off at the Nakatomi Plaza.

Not a Christmas movie in my eyes just because it takes place on Christmas Eve. Home Alone 2 is the Christmas movie for me.

Does it have jingling bells in the theme?= Yes
Does it have christmas decorations visible throughout? = Yes
Is it set at or around Christmas? = Yes
Does it feature an oriental mercenary stealing a chocolate bar when no-one's looking? = Yes
4 x Yes = CHRISTMAS FILM KIMOSABE!

That's very true. Over the years i've seen loads of different blurays in many different poundlands. It's not like they get a batch of them at the main warehouse and distribute them nationally, it does seem to be more regional.
Anyway, if anyone is interested, i've just opened the copy I bought and it's definitely full 1080p with lossless DTS HD Audio (for the nerds :wink:).

You should mention that these are pre-owned blu-rays, not that it should make much difference, but some people might like to know this.

22 Dec 15#24
I wasn't aware that they were pre-owned .. where did you find this out ?
EmmettDocBrown to Bigfootpete
22 Dec 15#31
Only pre-owned if they have the replay stickers on from the photo it hasn't got one on so it looks new.

They're not pre-owned. Brand new and factory sealed. Got mine a few weeks ago from Glasgow Fort. :smile:

22 Dec 151#33
Little factoid: Die Hard was originally scripted to be a sequel to Commando (based on the novel Nothing Lasts Forever). Arnie wasn't interested in a sequel so the project evolved into something else.
EmmettDocBrown to rabbitmoon
22 Dec 15#36
Yes, also Robert De Niro and Al Pacino turned down the role apparently.
SonOfSam to rabbitmoon
22 Dec 15#43
And if you go alittle the further back, when the novel (Nothing Last Forever, 1979) was first thought of moving to the big screen, the first actor that was originally thought of to play the role of Joe Leland was....
Frank Sinatra
Can you even imagine?

Nice one. That makes me realise, Home Alone 2 (1992) is actually a kids version of Die Hard (1988);
Solo hero ... away from home ... at Christmas ... in a big city ... trying to stop bad guys from robbing city building (Nakatomi vs Toy shop) ... whilst living in (Nakatomi) Plaza vs Plaza (Hotel) ... saves the day ... re-united with his family ... Check out the Home Alone 2 poster vs Die Hard poster (my first try a posting a picture);

Bruce Willis was like 10th choice for the role, behind the two you mentioned and also the likes of Nick Nolte, Tom Berenger, Harrison Ford, Patrick Swayze, Burt Reynolds... impossible to imagine any of those playing McClane.
