Ok this is my first post so hopefully be a bit gentle. I have had a quick search to see if this has been posted before and I haven't seen anything.
It might get cheaper in the sales after Christmas but if your looking for a copy for a late present before then I think this is quite a good price.

Why not just buy it from Simply Games? They deserve the custom after originally selling the game at this price. No doubt Amazon could also be selling this game already at the same price but they'd much rather rip people off.

Amazon won't price match Simply Games, I had a job on getting them to match Shopto for Diablo yesterday.
Nah it was definitely the game that was condemned :smiley: Take a look at the comments. The last gen versions of TTK Legendary Edition have always been at a higher price than the next gen until recently.
But, PlayStation 3 owners still play games too, you know :wink:

Always had my games next day with them. They're also a UK company paying taxes in the UK, not everybody cares about that but Amazon is kind of a cancer when it comes to their business practices so if they can be avoided...

the taken king dlc fixed a lot of the issues and the new free mini events are quite good (wipeout style racing game)
a lot of people who don't like it seem to just play solo but the game really comes into its own with a team (might be one in here) as you can do raids and other fireteam based stuff

Simply Games are good. I ordered from them today and it was dispatched instantly. The only issue I have encountered from them was recently, with a Need for Speed order I made from their Rakuten store. I say an issue, it arrived the day after release, to most that might seem like nothing, but I REALLY wanted to play it :smile:

To be fair, most deals' fates are decided in the first hour. I think a lot of people vote based on what temperature a deal is at the time rather than on the strength of the deal as they have no notion if it is a good deal or not, herd mentality and that. With a game like Destiny you are going to get some people vote it cold due to past experiences with DLC prices, if enough cold voters see it early I'd guess it is dead in the water.

Why doesn't everyone follow this logic on every deal posted here not just gaming? Yet every single day there goes the auto-heat just because the price-match minions at Amazon have price matched something - often that's already been posted. As for the fact that utterly ridiculous 'deal' whereby having paid for Prime, you get £3 back for selecting normal delivery times ....that just demonstrates the perception skills of Amazon Prime subscribers.

As much as people knock it (and I'm starting to get tired a bit myself as exotics have lost their feeling of excitment), you can't say it doesn't have value for money (yes value is subjective) however.....
....... For the amount of hours that you will be able to put into this. On a £ per hour of entertainment, prob right up there for the amount of hours you will get out of it.
£23 is a steal....... Give it a try, even if ya get 10 hours and put it back on shelf (though kept me entertained for around 250 thus far)
Wasn't the game some expected, but then I never followed the hype train, so win win for me!

The fallacy between £/hour is that this game was geared toward menial grinding to pad out content. The other issue is more along the lines of those (like myself) who already bought the original game and effectively have to buy it again just to get access to content I already had access to (a lot of playlists and features were was taken away from the base game with TKK).
For newbies to the series, this is a great deal however and definitely worth a punt.

The grind for exotics was real in vanilla destiny, that's what is putting me off getting this. Anyone know if their loot based system has improved? I.e. The player with the worst KD online getting items and not you when you finish top and things like that?

Everything you would've hated in vanilla has been improved. You now get an exotic roughly every 1 in 5 strikes/crucible matches with the '3 of coins' consumable from Xur.

I spent hours on the original on Xbox one. But me and a friend were going to play it on ps4 now. However I can't see definite views of how the game now plays if we both just paid £8 for it in cex? Has the original game completely changed so that we pretty much should just but the taken King so we have all the add ons?

I got this digital off psn, so I can account share (£24 for the 2 games). I've been enjoying it a lot. Only level 22 in the past few nights.
I remember the original destiny had these missions where you'd just venture around the world getting mini missions from beacons. That still there?
Or what end game solo content is there? I see a ton of lvl 40s in the low lvl zones. curious what I could do of my mates aren't online and I got time spare.

Yeah I do agree with you. I too ended up buying taken king and rebuying content. Also now with microtransactions seeking in, my pants are being pulled down a bit now.
They used an addictive formula of RNG and addictive it is. I'm hoping a similar game cab be released. Borderlands is similar in ways, however I enjoy being online and the social aspect to it.
For first time buyers it's amazing deal, but agree, there is some bitter tastes in the mouths of those that supported from the start and are slowly being fleeced from a game heavily invested in.
But even if I stop and walk away now, I (personnely) feel, I've had my value from it (Apart from paying £12 for a sparrow book and sparrow)

I bought this game from SimplyGames a week or 2 ago for a similar price. The game arrived shrink wrapped :smiley: But not with the typical "PS4" security tape that you pull on to remove the shrink wrap. Do all games have this "PS4" tape looped around them or are theses games re-packaged?

It isn't really account sharing.
I own 2 ps4 consoles. My console A is at my gf house and my console B is at mine.
My account is set up primary to my console A, and she uses her own account on that console.
My console B I log in and use my own account.
There's no fraud in this situation. I'm using my purchase goods under the structure Sony built on the two units I own.
If Sony doesn't want other users on your console to use your purchase goods. They shouldn't of designed it this way.
I called it account sharing above as everyone knows it by that name.

Just don't see the point in buying this game anymore as they will be releasing more dlc soon which will be overpriced like the taken King and will make this disc pointless
bought this when it came out but went off gaming shortly after wards so have hardly played it

From what I've read it seems like any future content before the release of the sequel will be free, but funded by microtransactions. However I don't think there has been an official statement to back this up, so the best I can say is it looks like you won't have to pay again until the sequel, but can't guarantee it.

Amazing price HEAT added!!! Bought on Xbox one even though I have it on ps4. I was an early adopter, bought destiny ltd edition (came with expansions 1 & 2) and the only way for me to get TTK expansion was to buy it digitally at a crazy price of £39.99 so like many others I do feel cheated that the early adopters got a tad ripped off...BUT the game is amazing and VERY addictive, one of the only few games I always end up playing on a daily basis (and I have a lot of games).
