Cubot X12 MTK6735 64bit Android 5.1 4G LTE Smartphone - WHITE 132074302
5.0 inch qHD IPS Screen / MTK6735 64bit Quad Core 1.0GHz / 1GB RAM 8GB ROM / Infrared Remote Control
Don't know if this is a misprice but I have just ordered one for this price from the EU warehouse.
If you select 'white' and 'EU' warehouse it brings the price to £32.73 the other colours are £63.14?
Seems like decent spec for a 30 quid phone, bought for the other half as she dropped her old HTC.
I tried adding a voucher code as well but it went a bit screwy and added £40 on so I didn't bother but your mileage may vary if anyone knows of any codes that work.
Get in quick!
I have edited the QHD to qHD as it states further down the info on the site, still decent enough for most.

Seems good for a cheap phone but worth checking which UK 4G bands it supports (O2 and Vodafone only use 800mhz (band 20) along with Three using it for some of their network for all devices in the future).

FYI: quite a lot of negative feedbacks from Amazon buyers.
Although plenty of positive reviews too, still worth reading and be alerted.
BTW, I did try buying a REALLY cheap smartphone last year. Specs and functions seemed amazing and unbelievably cheap. However, the screen brightness and the speed was even more unbelievable, if you know what I mean. Basically, don't just look at the specs. User experience is more reliable, hence the big names have most of the market.

It's fine for me as my eyesight isn't great at short distance, I wanted the Doogee X5 Pro but I didn't want it from China, as this is EU it should be here quicker, I mean it's under £35, find me a phone with QHD for that price and I'll buy it, as said it's half the price of Amazon and Ebay, really hard to please some people, I thought it was a great buy for a kids Christmas pressie as it will probably get dropped at some point.
It's also a massive upgrade from my Sony Xperia Neo and her HTC desire which are both about 4 years old.

Like most people iam sure that's what you expecting most reviews don't take take that into consideration as they probably reviewing the device new when they got the phone and everything is all well and good a couple months down the line and the review might be different. But 35 pounds come on. As long as people are fully aware of what they are getting and don't have unrealistic expectations you will most like be happy

This phone is great for the price. No it doesn't compare to my S5 but its not *that* far behind in practical day to day use.
People saying screen size needs to be five billion pixels per inch, really need to ask themselves what they're watching that requires them to be that close.
For us normal folk with non-bionic vision, this is great for films and the iconsvare clear and bright.
The only negative things I would say about the phone are;
- Really annoying Chinese loud jingle when you turn it on.
- Accelerometer is not great, fine for most things but nothing that requires super sensitivity, like VR apps.

The problem with phone from China is not only the cheaper component used but also how it is manufactured. The soldering and manufacturing process is not as refine so to say as the big players. Also there is little or no quality assurance or quality control so many faulty units pass through and many good phone due to the poor manufacturing will ultimately fail after a certain time. Not that this won't happen to top branded phones it's just the chances and time of failure is longer. Regarding updates not all phone get updates and China phone most of the time not so i cannot say this won't get updates iam pretty sure unless it has a thriving community it most certainly won't

Is this a better buy than the Doogee Y100 X posted last week?
Not everyone is a 'Brand Victim' and can see past the overpriced rubbish they sell just because they have a good marketing and sales strategy, Apple products are extremely overpriced and are not as reliable as most people think, a quick search on EBay will bring up hundreds of smashed screens and faulty iPhones, people buy them for that logo on the back because everyone else buys into it because it's trendy.
If I stuck an Apple sticker on the back of this and told people it was a pre release iPhone 7 I am sure people would fall for it lol :smirk:

COLD purely because if something goes wrong Gearbest systematically ignore you, and wear you down until you go away, so this is part of the product i.e. the service.
Once you open a ticket, they change it to processing and it stays that way until..........forever. Any subsequent tickets raised for that order are then put on an automatic ignore list and set to "processing" as opposed to "open".
Live chat - terminate your chat if your on the ignore list, if you raise a paypal claim they will ask for it to be returned at your cost, at the cheapest method possible, which will cost you and may not be economically feasible.
Ordered quadcopter - came used, everythig missing except the quad and remote, SD card had images on it, was clearly a secondhand or ex demo repacked they offered $6 only when Paypal got involved, thank god PP upheld my claim and didn't even ask me to return it to China, I actually messaged them direct and asked them to manually look at my claim, they were brilliant to be fair.
All I am saying is, beware, worst service ever experienced and I have been buying China stuff for many years. Dealxtreme and Focalprice have always been good when things go wrong.

I have been buying from China for as long as I can remember, hardly ever had problems from numerous orders, some really large pricey orders, including the risky Aliexpress. Gearbest have to be the worst money grabbing crafty barstewards out there - they have setup a very clever and crafty system to shaft you if things go wrong. All their support system have been designed around this, I know I tested it with new tickets and ones without the same order number.
I think they will also be having a Paypal account review soon due to the number of complaints and cases against them.
I would strongly suggest Ebay first, and then Dealxtreme etc, Ebay is always the safest bet as the supplier never wants negative feedback, and in my experience is always the best option if an item is available there, sometimes things are even cheaper there, expect to pay the extra quid or so on Ebay at times BUT worth it.

The 1 star reviews look and feel genuine whereas the 5 star reviews are of a more generic unrealistic nature along the lines of "amazing gadget company". The 1 star reviews state in the main that gearbest have terrible customer service, do not ship the items and do not give refunds.

Never had any problem with Gearbest or Chinese phones. Had two, one dual sim and current is Triple sim bought when the dog chewed up the dual sim. Don't expect an Iphone for this price and you wont be disappointed.
TIP:
Charge the Paypal amount to your CREDIT CARD, not bank account. When you come to dispute a purchase, you have credit card charge back to fall back on. Paypal knows this and you should have no problem dealing with them.
The first triple sim phone I bought did not work as a phone, disputed with Paypal, I did not even have to return the phone to China, they refunded. Cost of phone £63.. Cost of tracked shipping return to China £58! Seller will try to get you to return ship at your expense, "we will refund" They dont, ask them to pay up front, they won't!. You will never get return shipping cost back from Paypal.

Iam sorry I don't have facts or figures on this but this is from my experience I have bought lots of Chinese phones and recommend them to a lot of people for a long time and still continue to buy/recommend them but I do know that reliability is not as good as a phone from the UK. I have been buying since the days that Nokia was a brand and in my experience they tend to break or go wrong quicker. Hopefully this won't happen to you. But everytime I advise people or friends or family to buy then I do tell then that it will go wrong and in my figures I would say around roughly about 85% of the time China phones have developed a fault.

Talking about more of phone sold here even company such as huawei or zte are Chinese company's who's sell phones here. They provide a service in the UK regarding warranty. There is reason why they are selling the phone so cheap. corners have to be cut and the corners are quality of components and manufacturing processes. the cut in this leads to products developing faults faster. I am not saying it will go wrong it chances are higher than phones sold over here as uk phone have a greater quality control otherwise if they did develop a fault people would send them back and the company wont make money. look on the gearbest site for phones from Huwei and zte and oppo they demand a higher price even if they are made in china why? its because they are selling worldwide and have stores in the uk that sell there phones and if the phone broke easily people wont buy there phones. if this phones breaks who will you complain to will the cubot take your phone and fix it? send it back to china? most of the time you wont be bother or the company's wont respond.

EBAY/Paypal protection is getting less reliable. You have the option to mark item as returned.
REMEMBER UK LAW STATES SELLER PAYS RETURN POSTAGE for FAULTY or NOT AS DESCRIBED goods.
Ebay now sends you a shipping paid label for UK purchases. But when you mark as sent it waits for buyer to mark it
as received, many do not. There is no way to escalate the claim. You can speak to Paypal 0800, to get a refund if seller does not reply. Here is where your Credit card charging of Paypal amount comes in. They know you can 'charge back'
When you pay by Paypal, if you have a bank account and Credit card on your account. the charge will always default to the Bank account. Change it to credit card before you complete the payment.

Anyone have any idea of shipping times?
Bit confused by this comment, vast majority of smartphones are made in China under same conditions as bigger brands, and surely this phone will get the Android updates like other Android phones.
It's also a massive upgrade from my Sony Xperia Neo and her HTC desire which are both about 4 years old.
Please don't judge Android on this phone though, it won't match up to your iPhone! Android is great but...well, it's a £30 phone!
Anyway cheers OP, I've ordered one.
People saying screen size needs to be five billion pixels per inch, really need to ask themselves what they're watching that requires them to be that close.
For us normal folk with non-bionic vision, this is great for films and the iconsvare clear and bright.
The only negative things I would say about the phone are;
- Really annoying Chinese loud jingle when you turn it on.
- Accelerometer is not great, fine for most things but nothing that requires super sensitivity, like VR apps.
Thanks

I understand what your saying, but I think you are being reckless with your posts. You can't know for sure about the manufacturing conditions of this phone, or any of the larger brands phones, unless you are personally involved in the manufacture of these products. So the statements you are making have no basis, and you shouldn't make them.

If I stuck an Apple sticker on the back of this and told people it was a pre release iPhone 7 I am sure people would fall for it lol :smirk:
Oh and Apple phones are made in Taiwan for info!
Thank you very much for responding.
Well I am impressed with their attention to detail so far, maybe some people have an axe to grind?

Can't guarantee everyone will be happy obviously, but they're definitely not scammers.
They often reply to your tickets but what they say and what they do are very different things.
Been waiting for over 3 weeks for a gb wallet refund back into PayPal. Waiting for months for a partial refund to be honoured.
I was stupid enough to place a second order and still waiting after more than 2 weeks for a despatched phone.
Waiting to be corrected...
Edit: update in next post
A bit more tracking info is available at One World's site: http://www.oneworldexpress.com/.
Cheers once again OP!
I'm far more excited about seeing what this can do for £30 than I am about getting my own phone!
Had a quick play and it's looking good. I refuse to use that cheap euro->uk adapter that they chucked in though. Asking for trouble IMO.
