I just bought one of these as a desktop replacement laptop.
Intel® Core™ i7-4710MQ Haswell Quad Core Processor
17.3" Full HD Matte Screen
Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64bit
8GB DDR3 RAM
1000GB 7200RPM HDD
DVD Rewriter
Dedicated GTX 860M 2GB Graphics
USB3 | HDMI | Bluetooth
1 Year Cube Warranty
Also very upgradable, there is a spare 2.5 inch bay I've added an SSD boot device too (thanks Amazon lighning deals) and the 8 GB ram is in one slot leaving 2 free to which I've added a further 8GB.

When I received mine the HDD was in the more central drive bay. It was more wedged in than secured. The second drive bay off to the side had a small plastic caddy in place. I switched the HDD over to this bay and added the new SSD in to the central bay. It's not 100% secure but the SSD is really light so probably better than it came from the factory.

Picked up one of these and very happy, can poster answer tho, do you need an internal caddy to install a secondary hard drive? Ssd seems to have some movement.

Very tempted with this as a desktop replacement.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I have never ever come across "Cube/Clevo" laptops before.

My laptop just arrived! A few quick thoughts after using it for a day:
Package and Delivery:
Amazing! Very very well packaged and delivery was perfectly on time as scheduled.
Laptop Build:
My initial reaction was "wow, this thing is very plasticky!". I cant fault the build quality at all but the materials used to build it, it's clear that it's budget (I think it's the same plastic they use to build the inside of cars to give you an idea  )
The keyboard has a full number pad on it so you'll find that when typing it takes adjusting to as you'll position your hands more towards the left of the laptop (not a negative, just takes adjusting to).
One small complaint is the size of the mouse tracker pad - it's pretty small to say the least, and comparing it to the rest of the laptop (a pretty big 17" laptop) it not only looks a bit ridiculous but also functionally, not great. Definitely worth investing in a wired/wireless mouse.
*Update* Another annoyance you may find is the lack physical volume keys and you have click FN and one of the function keys to increase/decrease the volume which isn't great. There's a very rarely used airplane-mode button and a camera screenshot button but i havent used them once and dont see myself using it anytime soon so I'm trying to see if they can be remapped.
Video/Audio/Performance:
I batched all of these areas up together as I think this machine is FANTASTIC when it comes to bang for buck.I'll add more here when I've installed GTA V and tested out the capabilities a bit.
*Update*: I ran Sims 4 in Ultra mode, it didn't break a sweat  Installing GTA V now and will report back.

They do stock another variant of this laptop with an SSD I think they've just been a bit lazy with the descriptions. Having said that the SSD model is a lot more and it's not a hard job to add the SSD yourself and save some cash as I pointed out in the original post.

Did anyone spot the description states it has an SSD? It doesn't mention it anywhere else or the the size but I was mythed as to why it wouldn't be standard and when i saw that in the description... maybe a mistake, maybe not??

No SSD. It's a 1TB 7200RPM drive. It's 860 graphics and Haswell I7 so previous generation and disk type reflects that as well. Still a damn good price for the specification though.
mikecalm says there's space for a second drive, so adding a 250GB boot SSD would only cost about 50 quid and would transform this into an even better beast.

Very good laptop. Bought second hand with i7-4810 for a half price and very happy. To clarify, There are two 2.5 bays, and one mSATA.

It seems pretty good, would probably swap the HDD with an SSD if I bought it.
My PC is already good enough though

There is no need to swap there are two 2.5 inch bays, you can have both, the sandisk deal or on of the samsung drived would make a good boot drive and you can keep the 1TB for music, movies, pictures etc that don't need as fast access.
30 fps to 33 fps, but sometimes that's all it takes. A good deal, but on the lookout for a GTX970M or 980 next.

Quite reasonably everyone on HUKD wants something different from a deal, I was mostly interested in the quad core i7 for SW development and running VMs the GTX 860m is for me a nice bonus that should allow for playing some games at mid to high settings. There are always going to be cases where you could spend a little more to get a bit better performance or conversely spend a little less to get fractionally less.

I see what you are saying but 10% is a lot in gaming!

If this had the 960m it would be beastly! hot anyways

The 960 is just an overclocked 860m, they both have the same Maxwell architecture with 640 CUDA cores. The gain is maybe 10%. Similarly the newer 6700hq processor is only very marginally quicker, maybe there will be some good deals on 5700 i7 laptops in the new year.

I wonder if you can upgrade to backlit keyboard?

not a good graphics in my opinion - but this is still a good deal when you factor in the newer i7 quad core processor - stick in a solid state drive and this will fly through most things - even some games that take account of the extra cores

would it be dumb to ask on sale/trade for these specs for £450 second hand? ( to buy)

This is a rebadged Clevo it gets positive reviews here
The NVidia GTX 860M is based on the newer Maxwell core so should have a reasonable stab at most games, seems to be about comparable with the desktop 750Ti which is no slouch.
