Most if not all of my large Craghopper wardrobe was bought a few years ago when they weren't so well known, the quality was better, and the sale prices were brilliant. I've been regularly wearing a lightweight waterproof jacket that cost me about £18 for around 6 years or so - still unmarked and waterproof - and I've got a couple of Kiwi jackets on standby. My Kiwi trousers - 6/7 years old - are beginning to look a bit tired and they'll soon be replaced from the wardrobe stock.

That may or may not be the case but trading on a reputation, It's a slippery slope. Most folk will gladly pay a little extra for better quality. Price is not the deal breaker. Junk is junk, at any price. You pays your money, you makes your choice.
What I find interesting is when you pay a higher price for premium branded products, you generally take greater care of them. And unsurprisingly, they last longer as they are probably worn less frequently. This undoubtedly says more about us as people than it does about the products we choose.

Quality not as good as it was but that seems to be universal. Still probably better value than some of the bigger names.

What are CH like in quality compared to brands such as North Face and Berghaus ect..

I too think their stuff comes up small. I bought a size 14 winter coat last year (I wore size 12 everything) and it was very snug. Lost a lot of weight this year, went down to a size 10, and still the jacket was only just about right around the middle but massive on the shoulders and arms.

Quite like Craghoppers gear but rrp are a joke....up there with Sportsdirect, ok maybe not !

I wanted this coat for my partner and I like the CH brand, so this was a bargain, with the offer code, down to £33! However, I got to 'my basket' to pay for the item but the drop down menu asks for a delivery method but shows no options, so when I pressed the 'Pay' button, nothing happens. I've emailed customer services, watch this space.

i buy craghoppers trousers for work and deffo recommend, lifetime guarantee on certain ranges so long as you register your purchase on their website, returned one pair that split on a seam after a year and got a brand new pair posted out about 2 weeks later no questions asked :smiley:

As you mention some sizing is better than others - bought a coat last year and another item earlier this year and allowed an extra size and they fitted fine but the coat bought this month and a top - two out of four - were undersized and I am now wondering if this is why they are offered in the sale. Although not the same items tried on a couple in Debenhams and again the sizing varied

She is the size she thinks she is, I was just using her purchases (she's actually had a few coats from Craghoppers) as an example that their coats like this one (and she has tried on this one and it fit but she didn't like it), seem to her to fit true to size. Can't comment on their tops/trousers etc.

Oh, and while I could probably have worded it better, I didn't intend to say that sizing is perfect throughout all the ranges, just in her experience the coats are good.

Sizing is always a bit 'unscientific' and it is widely known that it varies between shops and manufacturers slightly, so to quote that your one example unambiguously refutes this for every garment in the whole range doesn't really add up, does it?

a single purchase doesn't prove anything - there are lots of comments within reviews about inconsistent sizing

quite fancy some of their trousers as mainly just have jeans/'trackies' nowadays but they seem quite slim fitting?
want a bit of room to move about in!
lower end seem to be 65/35 poly/cotton... then they are mainly 100% nylon or nylon blends with a single pair 100% cotton
i assume they should be breathable etc as walking trousers but do they look/feel like plastic as well?
