CONTINENTAL ULTRA GATORSKIN 700 X 25 BIKE TYRE
The Continental Ultra Gatorskin Bike Tyre is TOUGH. With a bead to bead Duraskin layer and aramid belt beneath the tread, these Bike Tyres can shrug off pretty much anything. Plenty of grip comes from the softer compound, even in the wet. This makes the tyre perfect for winter training and even Audax routes.
Strap these on and go chew the miles up.

Purchased 1 last time when it was on offer and got 1 puncture in 3 weeks. I would rather go for hardshell.

Must have been some harsh roads! I've had these for years and have no real complaints. I get more flats during winter, but so does everyone I know who rides year round. Looking up close at my worn tyres, I see that they've stopped a good deal getting through.
IMO sturdy quality tyre
haven't tried the hardshell yet, but I'll likely grab a set the next time I need them - in a year or two

Rule 1. The most likely time to have a puncture is just after you have changed tyre/tube. Even the finest sometimes don't get the fitting completely right and cause a strain or an unseen pinch somewhere. I got one the first ride after changing the last one. Been perfect since (touch wood). Been using them since 2010 and the puncture rate is significantly lower than some other riders in our club.
If I'm going to critique the tyre is it isn't the longest wearing. But a 23mm near slick is never going to be.

Nice tyres.
I commute to work every day on harsh roads and have found Mitchelin Lithion 2 tyres to be very good.
Before I had them I use to get quite a few punctures over the course of the year.
However these have covered approx 1200 miles and not one puncture (touch wood).
Question: is it a guarantee that your going to get punctures with this style of tyre on a road bike?
Does that mean you always have a puncture kit on you? When I see cyclists on the road I look out for there pump but never see anyone with one?
Serious question - upcoming c2w bike on way.

I take some patches with me but will always have a spare inner tube to make the change quicker. I use Co2 instead of a pump. Normally ride in a group so someone have always got a pump, inner, Co2 etc. I would recommend always have some way to fix a puncture whilst out riding on a road bike.

I carry a pump, repair pair patches and a spare inner tube plus a multi tool. It does add a lot of weight but I can ride over 100km in a day and I've had two front punctures in the last couple of months. These tyres will be ideal for me.

I would never leave home without 2 spare tubes, a repair kit and a pump. I regularly ride 200 km and this year rode a 300 and 400. Since changingvto Scwalbe Durano Plus, I haven't had a puncture, but will do one day. 4,500 miles so far since the last one!

I carry a spare tube in a small under saddle bag along with 2 co2 canisters and some patches and then depending on the bike a Topeak race rocket pump in my jersey when on the road bike and cross bike (as it won't fit the frames) but frame mounted on the mountain bike. I've only ridden 1000 miles in the past year and most of that on road, only time I have got punctures has been off road on the mountain bike where both times I got a screw through the tyre.
One thing that really helps with puncture prevention is making sure the tyres are properly pumped up to the right pressure, I usually do this the day before I ride so I don't forget.

No - click on the 25mm and it comes up £18. Whereas the 23mm is more expensive @ £25.20. Can someone update the misleading title?

The best tyres I have ever used by far are Schwalbe Durano Plus. I used to get a puncture about once a month (Gatorskins, Lithions & Specialised Armadillo). I have now gone 5 months/4,500 miles without a puncture since switching to Schwalbe Durano Plus.
They cost around £40 per pair, if you shop around.

Slightly cheaper if these are a bit too pricey for you
