Seen recent thread about 24/7 Boiler Cover but reviews seemed poor so had a look around.
Deal with SSE was too good to miss for me. Currently its £18.90 a month for Central Heating cover with no callout charge. However they are offering a deal of no payment for first 6 months of a 12 month contract. TCB are offering £80.80 cashback at present.
Therefore its a total payment over the year of £113.40 less the cashback of £80.80 = £32.60 for the year so just under £2.72 a month.
My cashback was showing after 10 minutes which was a nice change

Got paid out the top cashback at the full rate.
Called them out to repair a noise that was coming from boiler. Engineer said it's still running so can't do nothing.
I rang them and they said I can cancel without charge (was still in 6 months free)
So got the top cashback for free :stuck_out_tongue:

Mine tracked at £40 too with TCB. Sent a claim in customer care to them to raise it to £70.

It was the gas heating care I selected and not the flexi option. It's funny though as those prices are different to what I see, with the flexi option for me being £42 and gas heating care £73.50. Does the cashback perhaps vary based on your postcode? If you're seeing £40.40 though then it's probably likely that it's defaulted to the lowest rate, for whatever reason. Thanks again for the response - really helpful! I've submitted a claim so will see what they say in 1-3 months or more, apparently!

Did you order the boiler care or central heating care?
£40.40 is what they're paying for the boiler care.

Offer is still going. Just took cover out after renewal letter for npower was £22/month!
TCB tracked at £84 within minutes. If that goes through that's £2.45/month equiv. Brilliant, thanks OP

Not sure about the amount but I had to open a case because mine didn't track and I didn't hear anything for months.
Then they just paid out.

Great price, thanks for the post. I've just purchased this and the cashback is tracking at £40.40 rather than £73.50. Does anyone have any idea why that would be the case? Thanks for the help!

Thank you - have just done this via Quidco, where the cashback is £70. However, I feel the chances of this tracking are greater than TCB

Just took out the full cover with £84 cashback with TCB which works out at £2.45 a month , scorching deal. The cashback so far not tracked :/

I have just availed this offer - hoping I don't get burnt because there is always a catch. Also hoping that this is not an auto renewal type set up.

For those wondering its £75 for a one off repair providing you then takd out a service package for 12 mths, if not the charge is £150 for the one off repair, no fix no fee

Actually I might have the issue too. I haven't bought yet but thinking about it, and only have a Quidco account right now. The Quidco link takes you to a central SSE Shield site, but I cannot buy from there as it forces me to redirect to the SSE Southern Electric brand. But SSE Southern is my DNO, whereas in South Yorkshire I am fairly sure it is some other company.

i'm not even sure there is a "£75 one-off repair" - seems open-ended in the T&C's (e.g. if it is a £400 repair then that is what they will charge you)

Do you suppose you'd need to wait the 14 days to get the £75 one-off repair? Trying to find out on chat but the system's overloaded and no one's available. :disappointed:

Mine is tracking at £80.80 in under an hour of purchasing, hope to get this set up soon! Just moved in and saw the sticker on the boiler that it's not been serviced since 2008. This is good value especially as it seems there's no excess.

I tried the link above that went to SSE Scottish Hydro and says I'm not in their area, but going in another way to SSE Southern Electric (same company, same offer) would accept my postcode.

where did you see the £75 mentioned? all i can see is a comment that upgrade work will be chargeable (to upgrade your system to a condition where they can cover it)

I took this out a few months back for £14.40/month and £40 Quidco after being with British Gas for years. The first service was way more in-depth than BG, but this may just be down to the particular Engineer. Time will tell how it really compares.

Looks like they charge only £75 when taking out the cover if you did have a problem, but then I guess you have less chance of needing the cover if they have serviced and repaired it at the start..

Thanks.. I genuinely didn't know that. I'm only curious because I don't think the other highlighted deal by 24/7 has an initial inspection.

3 Dec 15#5
I'm a bit wary of this initial inspection. If they highlight a possible future fault, is it then the homeowner's responsibility to get that sorted or risk not being covered?

Every company inspects the boiler for faults before covering.
