Use the 3.5mm jack on the gamepad. any headset with a '4 pole' 3.5mm jack on it should do the trick. Try the headphones with the little dangling mic on the cord that likely came with your mobile phone. :stuck_out_tongue:

Stoopid N00b Wii U question: Do you have to pay for an online subscription for online multiplayer games such as this one? Any info, much appreciated as we have purchased a Premium pack for our son for Xmas.

Also, this game claims to be able to continue playing on the controller away from the Wii U unit - does that work well and do you know of other Wii U games that support this capability?

Online play on the wii u is free (as long as you have an internet connection, which you obviously pay your ISP for :P)

As far as I'm aware all games are playable on the gamepad screen. You can't drift TOO far from the wii u, but it's great for when someone wants to watch the tv and you're in the same room and want to game instead. You can just plug some headphones into the gamepad and away you go. Everyone wins. There isn't any lag either - it really is an underrated quality of the wii u (the wii u in general is quite underrated actually, it's a great little console).

Not all games are playable on the gamepad only, for example Mass Effect 3 needs both the tv and gamepad.

I think they're in the minority though? That's actually a bit of a gripe for most people because the games that do use the gamepad/tv combo effectively are few and far between. Zombi u is another one that springs to mind. You're safe buying this call of duty though.

Never been a fan of the Treyarch games and think the game is incredibly over-rated as a result. But for £3 (and given the fact that all Wii U games will be "collectors items" in a few years), this game is a bargain.
