Probably not - will usually have an OEM license which works on the original tablet only.

If you can plug in a TV and keyboard/mouse, then you should be able to extract the key from the BIOS of the Windows 8.1 tablet by installing a BIOS license key reading tool. After that you'll need to find a download of the ISO of Win 8.1 with Bing (US region only is available, 32 or 64 bit doesn't matter, choose whichever). This can then be installed on any machine using the key you just extracted, and then that machine will upgrade to Win 10. I've done this exact process on some HP mini desktops that were shipped within Win8.1Bing. Once you've got Win10, you can re-install from scratch if you like using the media creation tool.

will you not get a £5 voucher too buying from the shop? for spending over 50. I bought the linx 7 tablet for 40 and sold the office key for £28 quid. not sure how much I'll use a tablet as I've never had one before but for 12 quid I guess I can't go wrong.

Bush - Brand name still funny but cheap Argos tat now.
I've got an Ainol tablet, I prefer Bush over Ainol though.
Incorrect. OEM licenses can be transferred. Microsoft lost that particular battle in the EU courts.

Beware upgrading to win10 using the "don't keep anything" option, as it will overwrite the touch screen driver with one that doesn't work! I had to take it back for a replacement, the new one had touch screen issues also so I'll be taking that back also.
LINX8 for me I think;)

you must have the iso for the correct Windows version though. So you'll need the Bing one...

This does not have the play store, that is only available on Android devices. This has the Windows app store which is much more limited. You can run the standard pc version of Minecraft but no idea how well that will cope with a touch screen

does the latest version of windows 10 via mct not allow you to directly input windows 8.1 keys during a clean install? I though they had now included that in the latest build.

I had a look at that . Since the end game is windows 10 i suppose i could try that . At least now i have loads of options .

Anyone tried streaming to this from their xbox one after upgrading to windows 10? The spec should be ok as its very similar to the linx vision 8 which was designed for that purpose.

I assume this has the single USB/microUSB port, thus isn't possible to use USB devices and charge the tablet at the same time?

12 Dec 15#56
This adapter can be used to charge and use devices at the same time...
Just went into my local Argos and their stock system said they had one left. Thought I'd get it but after paying the guy brought out one that was covered in tape saying it had been checked and re-sealed by Argos. I thought this was a bit strange, he assured me it was not a customer return but I declined. Strangely he then went back and found another one that hadn't been opened. I'm updating it to Windows 10 at the moment.

If you read that it says the ability to charge and use OTG at the same time is limited to a very few devices. It's very unlikely to work on this.

Bought one. Seems decent. Was hoping to get that £49 Tesco one but glad I got this with double the RAM and internal storage. 32gb fills very quickly and is faster than an SD card so better for programs games etc
Quality seems reasonable. Screen is sharp. Speaker and camera are a bit rubbish, touchscreen could be a bit more sensitive (but much better than if it were too sensitive).
Its a bit trickier to use compared with an Android tablet which would be more suitable for the majority of tablet users. Plus the windows app store is a bit rubbish compared with Androids. Only get this if you want to run windows desktop apps on a tablet sized machine. Connect a keyboard and mouse and youve got a tiny 8" windows laptop.

Not tried windows 10. Is there any benefit installing this over 8.1? Office 365 works well on a tablet, better than LibreOffice and Google Docs.
Needs more ports. Wondering if I should try finding a USB OTG charger wotsit, then use USB mouse keyboard or get Bluetooth items?

If you've got the receipt then yes, if you can do it before 6 months the law is more on the consumers side. I had one of these and wasn't that impressed so ended up selling it for £40.
