been looking for a good drill with an extra battery (li-ion), not online as need to pick up to do a job asap, saw this on b&q website starting sat-sun 5th-6th.
Also comes with carry Box with what looks to be plenty of bits.
I like the looks of it, although pushing my budget a bit further than wanted but hopefully the knowledgeable people on here can tell me if there is something better or if it's been a lot cheaper before or if this is actually a good deal?
3 year warranty, brushless motor so will last many times longer than a conventional drill. It also has more torque so has a bigger drilling capacity in your chosen material.
If you need a cheap drill/screwdriver set to go with it then this one is half-price:
Bargain. I have one and its a great drill. The only downside is the 10mm chuck but at this price with the toolbox it's a steal.

Was actually looking at an 18v one (maybe not brushless though), that's the first one that caught my eye, although I have heard of worx was not 100% sure on positive/negative feedback.

Further to my earlier post #2, I have just bought another one using a £5 off voucher which I had recieved by e-mail. I went for the free home delivery as well, making this a whopping £73 Delivered!!!!
I often thought that another drill would be handy to save changing from a screwdriver to a drill bit when drilling pilot holes for large screws.

Good shout, we use this as a dog's wotsits around-the-house cordless screwdriver that also doubles up for light timber/metal drilling.
Was a bargain at £70 for the drill and two batteries, with the case and gubbins included for a few quid extra this is an absolute scorcher!
N.B. this is a smallish/light drill, easy handling for those that don't want a behemoth and great for every day DIY use, the easily adjustable torque is brilliant but has no hammer so not really one for masonry.

dont. either do it by hand or get a porter cable orbital polisher

A drill will take about 3 years to machine polish a full car. If you want a decent polisher get a rupes.

Lol you'll have nice paint burn if you use this on your car! Get a proper porter or a cheap orbital and do research on how to do

You canrenew the brushes when required in a brushled drill....so, your point is?

5 Dec 15#22
The point is a brushless motor will run off a single battery charge for a lot longer.
I have a Milwaukee Fuel driver and do loads with it before it needs the battery swapping out.
They're just more efficient and more pleasant to use.

Keep seeing similar deals posted. Mainly looking for one with main use as a screwdriver but with more torque than a Bosch IXO. Missed the Stanley Fatmax deal. Is this suitable? (Easy speed control? Variable torque?)

is this powerful enough to drill into stone?
i have an old converted barn/garage (200yrs old) which thick walls that i want to drill into (hanging picture, drill through completely to to thread cable, etc).

you'd be much better off with a bosch or dewalt corded sds hammer drill. I think they can be picked up for around £100

Excellent deal. Just bought one. Having two batteries is essential. Drill itself seems quite small and light but that's great for getting inside cupboards or folk with small hands. The carry box is only plastic and won't cope with rough handling. Can't wait to open it on 25th.

It does have a hammer setting but I've never found cordless drills to be very good at bricks and concrete.

I have a worx drill - and I have found it very good and well made!
minimum spec for basic DIY (in my opinion) is a 13mm chuck , hammer action, 2 gears and ideally 18v (or more) - should do most light jobs - if you want to drill lintels then you need an mains 240v drill -
I personally have a 18v cordless + a 240v drill + a 240v SDS drill for drilling lintels and light chiseling (or plaster removing) + a medium kango which I have only used twice but I still think a good investment - as I like a little DIY (I like to believe a good tool collection is a good investment)

brushless motors in battery drills are said to be around 33% more efficient due to the heat and friction created using brushed motors
they also dont create the heat around the motor that brushes do which should prolong the life of the product
