The costs of the the capsules for these machines are very prohibitive. £33.00 sounds like a good deal, but personally I think you'd be better off with a bean to cup machine or even a Nespresso.

I only buy the capsules in a sale. Tassimo will regularly do 20% off and sometimes free delivery.
But still, I agree it is rather expensive.

If you shop around it works out about 25p a capsule, not bad for a decent cup of coffee

It's why I stopped using my machine. I need go clean it up and sell it on.
Price of capsule to size of drink is a bad joke. A grounder or already ground coffee goes a lot further for less imo.

I was in JL about an hour ago & saw the same machine for £37.xx but I think there was a £25 voucher for the capsules.
I could be imagining it ... better if you're interested.

Does that require as little maintenance as this though? That's the biggest benefit as far as I'm concerned. No cleaning after each drink.

We use it at my office, it gets a fair bit of usage and the capsules cost really stacks up. The machine also needs regular de-scaling (dependant on the water where you live) and this also costs time and money.
My home Nespresso seems like better value for money and I assume a bigger saving on a bean to cup in the long term.

I also find that the Nespresso is better value over time

better off with an aeropress and a ceramic burr grinder if you like coffee
tassimos/nesspresso pod machines are good if you like very milky coffee drinks

I was going to buy one for the in-laws as they like a Nespresso when they visit. However a bit of research is showing that the coffee isn't that great so I think I'm going to opt for a Lavazza or Nespresso machine instead. Their pods work out around 30p each.

Personally I use Lyons coffee bags (£2.60 for 18) for an easy cup of real coffee and have a manual milk frother, only the milk frother (and mug) to wash up afterwards and the coffee bag is compostable.

Love Coffee, these are so easy to clean, coffee always hot.

25p??? Even the 3 for £10 deal on latte works out at 41p a cup. Think the deal for x5 latte packs at costco for just under £16 worked out at 39p. It would have to be the add your own milk drinks you are on about which are not great and defeat the purpose of the machine imo

I wish there was an alternative on the price of the tassimo discs. I buy the Jacobs coffee, I have bought it from the deli and used it in a caffiterre, but it just isn't the same.

Tassimo Used to make a really good coffee and still do if all you want is black coffee, or want to add whitener. They have recently "improved" the blends and now are cr ap. I have just bought the Nespresso as they don't profess to do anything but coffee and are way cheaper.
The new tassimo blends really are the pits and the only thing improved are the tassimo profit margins. Save your money and avoid like the plague.

Do these still come with a £20 voucher for the tassimo shop?

You often get pods on offer in home bargains and B&M stores.

Very rarely, once in bm's. Poundshop has had them a few times

As a warning to those that are particular about coffee. This does not produce high quality coffee. We have one at work and it doesn't come close to the Nespresso I have at home. If you can afford the extra for the nespresso machines on offer atm, do it (they cost the same when you take the capsule voucher into account
