LOL... I use it everyday because i need to make sure there is no traffic, and as it updates in real time as soon as an accident occurs it updates and I can find alternate routes. In all honestly in a perfect world I would get on at Junction 5 of the M6 and get off at Junction 2. BUT as we know driving up an down the M6 can turn out to be a scene from Mad Max. Due to a bad back condition I cannot sit in the car for too long and it has saved me getting stuck in 2 hr delays for the last few times.

Is that what they are called...I only know iPhone lol. It might well have been faulty. Well the lag put me off.
My assistant has a Lumia and he loves it. So they must be ok

Weird.
The Lumia 535 has issues with poor touch response due to dodgy hardware, but that Is a Microsoft branded phone, not Nokia.
Maybe you had a faulty phone.

To those talking about 'Here Drive', it is not available directly on the windows store anymore.
To download and install it you must first download the 'Phone System Updater' app which contains a link to download Here Drive (it re-directs you to the Windows Store).

I dunno perhaps they are bundled together, if you press "start navigation" in Here Maps it opens Here Drive. Assuming you have both installed.
Just in case you don't have it, Here Drive gives you the proper "Tom Tom" style 3D (or 2D) turn by turn and voice stuff.

"Here Drive" is what you want, not "Here Maps" (although it's bizarre that they are separate).

what the... wasn't aware they are two separate products. I have Maps on my phone, and thought that is good for driving...

That's odd, windows phones are known for being the opposite of laggy.
What sort of lag were you experiencing, and which phone?

That is for Windows PCs. For Mobile the requirements are different (at least WP8.1, and 8GB internal memory).
For Windows 10 Mobile it is up to the manufacturer to update the phone. BLU have already announced that they will be updating the WIN HD and JR LTE to Windows 10.
After the upgrade any future updates to W10 will be handled directly by Microsoft.

I'm a Here Maps fan, with my old Samsung Galaxy, you'd be in the middle of nowhere and lose the sat signal, it would immediately think you were in some random place, often miles away from where you were and make absolutely no attempt to predict your location based on where you were when it last had a signal, so you couldn't even figure out from the maps where you were because it always lost your position.
The download also meant I was able to use my navigation in the US, without having to worry about roaming data or any of that crap.

what I like about waze is you can update traffic and hazards etc to notify and help other drivers behind you.
I have not tried here maps but the offline mode doesn't really matter to me. My plan has 1gb data, I use my phone everyday using Waze to drive to and from work, plus use other browsing (Facebook, hotukdeals.com etc) and barely use 700mb of my Data plan. I will give here maps a try.
But back to phone if you want a cheap alternative to Android this BLU phone is not a bad buy.

Can't you get "Here Maps" for it?
I used that when I was on Windows Phone. Fantastic nav software due to the full offline mode and downloadable maps. Used it on holiday loads with no data connection.
Have since switched back to 'Droid but still use "Here Maps" on that now as they made it available for Android. Just as good.

I purchased this for my wife, arrived yesterday. The phone itself is good, the apps that she uses are available. It did 2 major updates as soon as I had it charged up. Regarding NAvigation, i think Androids is better in this area, I personally use WAZE on android for navigation software, Windows Phone does haves the app but does not work as well.
It is meant to be upgraded to Windows 10 in January, whether it does or not only time will tell. I managed to compare this to a Lumia 640 and there was absoluley no difference in performance and for half the price (or lower if you manage to get it on a lightning deal) When you use the camera the picture quality dooes not look great but once the photo is taken its looks better, no SLR quality but decent enough for taking those snapshots when you are out and about. People may want to go for the Lumia because its a better name and not heard of in the uk. In all honesty it wont surprise me if Microsoft are rebadging these phones and selling them as Lumias.

Anyone know when this will be updated to Windows 10? I'm tempted but literally just to try Windows 10 but if it's not going to be released until next May or something I may as well pick up the Lumia 550 even though this is far superior on paper.
