I'm looking for Christmas presents for my 11 and 13 year olds and was going to get them we took for same price (I'm an ee customer) but wondered if this is a better phone? Or should I say more unable, I'm favouring android at the moment owing to the fact that I've heard windows all store is not great. They both want WhatsApp, Skype, YouTube and games, any idea if this would be suitable/better than the rook? Many thanks in advance for any help.

There is no official YouTube app for Windows phone and the games library is pretty sparse. Android is better but you have to spend a bit more to get a good experience as it's a more demanding operating system. The Moto G or Wileyfox Swift are good budget androids but they cost 3x the price of this phone.
whatsapp and skype are both there  , and in regard to youtube there is metrotube it costs 79p and allows you to do two things the official app won't on android or ios and that is preload videos to the phone and playback when screen is locked, also there are no adds in the video's so you'd save on data

Added heat. Still debating what phone to get, mine is 4-5 years old and really slow. For that money & free delivery it's worth using for a couple of months and selling for £20 afterwards.

I agree one of the best phones ever made. But it kind of went for a ride in a tumble dryer and it's not working too good haha.

Yes. In fact some people use it as cheap 4G hotspot / mi-fi.

HERE Drive+ has full offline nav abilities and is available for all Windows Phones.
The 10 upgrade has not been made available for most 3rd party handsets yet. MS are hoarding it for their own phones as a carrot for buyers. This will *allegedly* get 10 at some point.
