working in a shop this time of year is awful as everyone is as miserable as sin and speaks to you like crazy. Please remember people who work in shops are human! Merry Christmas :sunglasses:

In the Telford Poundland they have a huge sign of what Poundland is, and at the bottom of it it says something like: "where everything is a pound." So really as it says that, couldn't I just argue to get it for £1? :')

was in on Friday and got Kung fu Panda for £1. they had avengers and various Disney films at the till and when I asked they said they were a fiver each. I thought they were just up to their tricks and keeping them for the staff (at £1 each)

I got excited when I saw "Avengers Blu-ray"
and "Poundland" in the same sentence...
Bitterly disappointed it's £5 but considering it's new and it's about the same price in CeX (second hand) then it isn't that bad of a deal. (Mind you, the film's been out for years now) I'll probably just wait for the price to go down as I've already seen it twice on TV.

After threatening my local £land with trading standards and legal action and citations from various Acts of Law relating to trades descriptions etc etc I got mine for £1. Whilst I was at it I picked up a number of various Disney bluray movies and 12 packs of Duracell batteries as well.
Off to ebay for so much win.

Didnt they do this with the 'Replay' CD's recently, where some were £2? In POUNDland? They should stick to selling things for a POUND and stop confusing us ;-)
Dear PoundLand, the clue is in the name ;-)

Actually the total value of goods purchased @ £5 each was £300, after going all legal on the manager I paid £60. All gonna be put on ebay for profit win.
Dont be hating the winners.

I can clearly read from your reply that you have instantly made an ASSumption that I was abusive towards staff.
If I may correct you on this matter I merely engaged staff in a verbal discussion regarding the said items in relation to some legal points.
This discussion was non threatening and non abusive but it did result in the staff conceding the point and allowing me to complete my purchases is a manner befitting of the traditions and values of the founding fathers of £land.
Furthermore as a consequence I achieved much win and foresee a relatively decent profit heading in my general direction.
Additionally I sense much hostility and hate from yourself.

What legal points?
Poundland is just the name of the company (on that note, I'm pretty sure that Richard Branson ain't no Virgin), their tagline is Amazing value everyday... they don't advertise that everything is a pound.
I don't see any legal grounds for any complaint, just making life difficult for minimal wage workers during the the busiest time of the year...
Well done for your bargains, hope eBay appreciates them.
