TBF the OP does mention limited numbers, and surely 1 charger in 1 store in the whole country is the very definition of limited.
Its probably a faulty one they got back, hidden in a dingy corner of the stockroom.

Is ok, but the average charge time is total Bull!! The fastest time quoted on their chart is 3.6hrs for ONE AAA 600mAh battery. Slow charger but lots of safety features.

Slow chargers are better than fast chargers apart from logically they take longer to charge.
