You won't regret it IMO.
Not that I have this mobo (I'm on Z97 version with a i5 4690K) but the options in the bios are great and from reviews read it continues with the new range as well. Board layout is great as well IMO, the ROG forum can be a bit quiet compared with others but some good members with knowledge.
That's either a really big mouse or a micro-micro motherboard.

Considering this is the cheaper end of their ROG line this mobo is amazing value.

Not sure if trolling or actually a bit daft...
Box.co.uk is a big reputable retailer, and you only have to google the motherboard to come up with some very positive reviews from highly regarded sites.
The mouse you can sell to bring the price of this board down to around £100 - bargain.

Flubit are a nightmare for this sort of thing. I ordered a CPU cooler from them a couple of years ago and it took nearly 1 month to arrive. I think it came from Dabs IIRC.

Isn't this deal better since you are going to need DDR4 for this type of board regardless yet most people will already have a gaming mouse.
Depends on your needs I guess. I'm building a new PC (have been using laptops for the past 10 years) and would like 16gb RAM. So far via HUKD I've bought:
Just waiting for a good deal on the 6700k around £250+ ish
And a R9 390 around £200 ish (although this one I can wait, perhaps Boxing day, no rush).
Hopefully this build can last me 5- 10 years
Most of the components have nice long warranties too so I figured it's better to build it myself than buying pre-builts.
I regret not buying these components when there was that 20% off ebay promotion! Oh well...
gupsterg to Spark
9y 16d1#23
IIRC in the i5 6600K deal you've posted you're going for K processor to OC?
If so get yourself a copy of Custom PC Issue 147 (if you can), they have the MSI Z170A Gaming Pro (RGB) and this quote kills that mobo for me:-
The Ranger :-
Even the MSI Z170A Xpower Gaming Titanium Edition at £227 in the group test did not manage 4.9GHz but 4.8GHz @ 1.32V. The EVGA Z170 Classified 4-way @ £345 got 4.9GHz with 1.4V.
My Asus Maximus VII Ranger with a i5 4690K is rocking 4.9GHz CPU @ 1.255V all day long, I've done like 48 loops (8hrs) x264, 24hrs [email protected] and 8hrs RealBench stress mode. I've even had CPU-Z validations for [email protected] and 5.1GHz @ 1.290v.
To me it seems not only have Asus done great board design / layout but the UEFI is stonking. I've only really tweaked RAM to use XMP (2400MHz kit) with 1T and raised CPU ratio & cache with voltages required. I'm even doing 4.3GHz [email protected] with 4.9GHz CPU. And this is on air with a 2nd hand ThermalRight Archon SB-E X2 bought for £13.50.
As always overclocking YMMV, but the labs test in CPC was same CPU and other components per board testing.

Thanks, I might pick up a copy of that magazine on my way home tonight. I currently have an ASUS ROG board (Crosshair Formula-Z) and had no luck OCing with it at all but I think that could have just been my FX-8350. Even using the ROG tools would cause the PC to either fail at POST or crash on the desktop.
That would explain why that MSI board is so cheap though.

I OC through bios, even on ROG forum people will recommend dump the software.
I did once want a Maximus VII Hero, due to the true 8 phase VRM vs the the 4 doubled to 8 on Ranger. For the same CPU Custom PC / Bit tech reviews showed the upgraded VRM only allowed a 0.001V lower vcore. I'll be honest I stopped wanting it after getting a 2nd i5 4690K which clocked like I state, otherwise I did think it was boards VRM holding back my original CPU.
Overclock.net has some info on Z170 VRM design and what I recall this time the Maximus VIII Ranger isn't that behind on VRM design.
Also on Z170 boards the VRM is more important IIRC from what I read on OCN, due to the integrated voltage regulator has been dumped in Skylake vs Haswell.

I'll be honest I never buy used CPU / MOBO / RAM / GPU from ebay, once got bitten on a GPU. Paid about £200, died within 3mths, had to fork out another £250 for brand new from an etailer so I'd have similar performance (was a lower grade GPU than the ebay one).
I have sold CPU / MOBO / RAM / GPU on ebay and I know I haven't abused them, buyer only has my word for it and I do wonder why is someone buying them, I don't sell them cheap either.

To be fair, the CPU only cost me £70 and I've had it for over a year. Even now you would absolutely struggle to get an FX8350 for that kind of money.
I played 3 games on it last night. Rainbow 6 Siege ran at 90 FPS and CSGO at over 100 FPS both maxed out but The Witcher 3 was struggling to maintain 45 fps even with some settings turned down/off. That was with a GTX 970 and at 1440p.

Has anyone received theirs yet?
I received mine and am not impressed.
1. The plastic packaging was already ripped apart a bit to form a hole easily able to take the MB Box out. The motherboard box wasn't sealed but all seems to be there. The box was a bit tattered and ripped.
2. They just lugged the mouse in the same plastic packaging with no bubble wrap, so the box became quite tattered. Even though the mouse box was sealed the seal had clearly been taken off previously as you can see the mark where the seal was on previously. It is an OEM mouse so it's not the retail box. I opened the mouse box and all it had were:
- instruction manual
- only 1 usb cable
- The mouse itself
- 4 black rubber feet stickers.
I'm not sure whether it is because it's just OEM; but from the reviews and unboxing youtube videos, I should have also gotten:
- an extra USB cable
- a carrying case
- 2x omron swiches
- 2x ROG brand stickers
Could someone else who ordered please confirm what they received

Yes I was very surprised too! On closer inspection the mouse seal had actually been opened and the seal reapplied but at a different position. If you don't mind could you please let me know the contents of your OEM mouse when you get the chance. I'm really not happy.

Don't know if relevant but thought I'd state, the 2x Asus boards I own the boxes were not shrink wrapped or sealed. Boxes were perfect condition, anti static bags not sealed (checked today before posting) but perfect and no crinkles like say board removed repackaged, etc. Not bought from box.co.uk but 2 differing other etailers.

Yeah it looks fine but I'm not sure.
I'm more miffed with the Mouse tbh. It doesn't have the things that its supposed to have. And seeing that the seal has been taken off and reaaplied in a different position clearly means its been tampered with and some things may have been taken.
Also, the boxes are tattered. No bubble wrap at all, they just shove it in a plastic packaging together
Can I confirm with you that the Asus z170 ranger mb has 7 sealed items included with it?
gozo
9y 16d#47
Hey, my boxes arrived today via Hermes too. I am realizing that you get what you pay for when it comes to delivery. I stupidly got the i56600K and Z170 Pro Gaming bundle, with Royal Mail postage. The i5 box was crushed into my letterbox and maybe crushed beforehand too. I cancelled the Pro Gaming as well, as they had no stock, hence me posting here.
My boxes seem OK. The mobo box isn't sealed, but the mobo looks well packed in the anti-static bag and I have the items within it too. The mouse is an OEM box, but the seals don't look tampered with.
I'm sorry to hear your items weren't up to what you would expect, but thanks again for the heads up on this. I think the Ranger looks like a very, very nice board.

Users manual, supporting DVD+ROG case badge, 12 in 1 ROG cable labels, 3x ROG fan stickers, ROG door hanger, I/O Shield, ASUS Q-Connect, 4 x SATA 6Gb/s cables, M.2 Screw Package, CPU installation tool, SLI bridge.
Retail Asus Gladius
2-meter braided USB cable, 1-meter regular rubber USB cable, 2 x Japanese-made Omron switches, ROG pouch, 2 x ROG logo stickers, 4 x mouse feet.
I'd contact Asus support to find out what OEM version is supposed to have.

Thanks mate. Seems I have everything for the Motherboard.
The mouse however, is an OEM version. It was tampered with as you can see the previous sticky markings where the seal once was.
It only came with an instruction manual, 1 usb cable, and 4 rubber mouse feet.
No spare USB cable, 2x omron switch, ROG pouc, 2x ROG stickers. This is what I am miffed about and would appreciate it if others who ordered confirmed what they received in their Asus Gladius OEM mouse box, thank you.

Hi guys, this is Andy from Box.
I just wanted to apologise for any issues you have had with the state of your items when delivered. We are investigating the packaging methods as this is something that hasnt come up before. If you have any problems with your items then please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.
Regarding the mouse, it is an OEM ASUS offer version and as stated on an ASUS graphic in the listing the contents do differ from the retail version. It does not include the extra accessories you would usually get with the retail one. Apologies if this is not very clear, we will be amending the product listing to add some more text about this.
Please either get in touch via our website if you have any more issues or feel free to send me a message on here.
Kind Regards
Andy
Update: We have now changed the way these will be packaged in the future - we have more stock coming in tomorrow and all future all orders will be packaged better..

Hi Andy,
1. As soon as I received it the first thing I noticed was that the plastic packaging has been teared opened (see picture, it was not me who teared this hole).
2. When I took the Motherboard box out I was surprise that there were no bubblewrap. The box has some tears here and there and was slightly opened. You can see the flap also has a define crease in the middle for some reason. When I took the mouse box it was completely crushed and tattered. I've managed to straighten it out a bit but I'm not impressed after paying £140... then being delivered these fragile items without any protection.
3. Upon closer inspection of the mouse I see that the seal has been tampered with as you can clearly see a semi-circle sticky mark on the box where the seal has previously been.
4. It just seems like I've been sent Used stock condition, and not Brand New. I'm not even sure if everything is in the packaging as when I immediately emailed your staff to enquire the exact contents, the reply I received was: "I am sorry to hear about this and i hope everything is ok with your purchase." No explanation and no courtesy to help me resolve my frustration of whether I have everything I need in the packages.
It seems I'm not the only one who has experienced this and Box has not improved their packaging; some examples I have found:
a) Person 1
b) Person 2
I feel bad for posting this deal as I did not expect such a lacking amount of care, aftersales, and quality after having spent £140.
Due to these reasons, I have arranged for a return to Box on RMA under DSR under Box.co.uk costs. It looks used, the Mouse seal has been tampered with, and the plastic packaging has been teared open upon receipt. In addition to that, I can never be sure whether the all the contents are in there as I have asked Box multiple times but they just replied to RMA it.
Please confirm a few things for me.
1) That my RMA will be returned back to you under your postage costs as the quality is appalling. I really would like to have them brand new. Not tampered with and tattered crushed boxes.
2) Have you improved your packaing, securing with bubblewrap and are your stock actually brand new?
3) Are the OEM Asus Gladius Mouse actually brand new with untampered seals? Could you confirm the OEM's actual contents as I cannot find this online. Do they only contain instruction manual, 1 usb cable, the mouse itself, and 4 black rubber feet stickers?
I hope you can resolve my issues and confirm my enquiries. Thank you.

9y 14d#53
Hi TheShadowWalker,
Sorry about the issues with the packaging of your order. To address your points:
1. I can assure you that all the boards are brand new, you are of course in your rights to return under DSR/CCR within 14 days of delivery.
2. We have improved packaging since the 9th December, but this was after the other people you mentioned had the issues. We now put the items in a box with a good amount of packing (see below pics)
3.The mice are all brand new, I just opened one and I had to break the seal – they do not include all the bits you get in the retail package as they are OEM offer products, they include the items you stated as you can see in the photo, the mouse, cable, manual and black feet stickers.
I hope this answers your queries and gives you some confidence that we want to make improvements where they are needed.
Kind Regards
Andy

I requested to return my Motherboard and Mouse back to them under DSR for a full refund to which they agreed. It arrived to them on the 4th January 2016 and I am still waiting for my £140 back. When I asked before what was going on they said it's being "tested" by engineers.
What an atrocious company to deal with. They send me an opened package that has been crushed due to zero packaging bubblewrap > they accepted my request for a full refund under DSR > I've returned it back >they're wrongfully withholding my £139.99 since receiving the items since 4th January 2016.

Thank you.
Andy
Not good.
Would you mind messaging me to which account this is as since it has been a long time I do not remember. Also I cannot see it in any of my online banking nor did I receive any email updates that I have just been refunded, I want to confirm that I will receive it. Thank you.
Warm regards.
