As I said in another Syndicate deal post, I assume that UbiSoft has pushed out promotional pricing to make us all buy the Jack the Ripper DLC which appeared this week.
I just noticed that the Season Pass was part of the "12 deals of Christmas" until December 14. Oh well!

This is a decent price, and I'm tempted to play it, probably due to the London setting.
But, I have a backlog of AC games stretching to III.
Anyone who owns this, is it worth buying now and going straight into it, or should the others really be played first for max enjoyment?

nah they've taken the series in a whole new direction. there's some underlying story in this which will make more sense if you played the other games, but it was really only 1st-4th (revelations) which were serial

I've done almost exactly the same. Ordered the GAME £24.99 version which arrived quickly. Then I;ve ordered the £27.99 Rooks edition so I can take back the £24.99 one.
Bit of a hassle for all parties but then they should release promos at the same time to stop returns like this.

Yes, I think GAME offers 28 day returns (to store) on unopened stuff - provided the plastic wrapper is in tact. I doubt they'd be very understanding if you've broken the seal, since they can't then sell it as new.
At least, that's what I'm hoping - I bought the 'special edition' for £24.99, then bought the Rooks edition on Amazon for £29.99, who very kindly just reimbursed me for today's £2 price drop.
Was sorely tempted to crack open the GAME copy on day of purchase - rather glad that I didn't!

Game with all the deals recently - hot!
I picked up AC:S for £25 from the previous deal and I'm about 4-5 hours in...
So far, it's buggy (had 2 crashes and a complete lock-up), the controls are a bit awkward, the main characters are flat and uninteresting and the graphics aren't up to AC:BF standards but at least there haven't been any tedious Abstergo sequences yet :stuck_out_tongue:
The setting is good, there seems to be a few nice additions like the zip line (and I'm hoping more will come) and it is still early days for my game but I'm already of the mindset of playing through it quickly and trading it in ASAP.
