Seems like Asda are worried about clearing their stock of veg for Xmas. Just been in store in Nuneaton and 2kg potatoes were 39p, brocolli, cabbage and parsnips were all under 29p as well. Note: this is not the price in the veg line these are all lined up at the front of the store. Was in Asda Nuneaton not sure if its national. Definitely worth stocking up on or freezing at this price.

Its only a best before date, potatoes are still fine about 2 weeks after this.

If the veg is restocked overnight than why are the dates so close to or on their expiry when you try to buy it????

Bought these last night in Aldi all veg was 29p and bag of Maris piper potatoes were 29p also for 2kg
So theres no deal here I'm afraid!

Its a national deal, due to the supermarkets idiotic over ordering! People out there, are starving for goodness sake! They really need to think carefully!
Last night at my local Asda 9:30 closing at 10pm they had 90 ish pots of double cream all expiring on that day! Utterly ridiculous!

yet again the big 4 are copying the market leaders aldi and lidl and putting veg on a loss leader. unfortunately for them, most of us know that these prices are pretty much the norm at aldi and lidl. I wonder how much longer the big boys can keep pulling the wool over people's eyes

Saw the veg deal in my local ASDA this morning. Out of all the stuff I purchased, 27 Dec was the shortest date, so no complaints from me...Except, I forgot to put the 30 can Diet Pepsi deal in the trolly :-(
Another trip up there, although not until 10pm when things quieten down a tad.

Good find. I think there matching Lidl. I popped in Lidl yesterday and they have parsnips, carrots, Brussels sprouts for 29p and potatoes for 22p in North London.

Same at Leigh Asda too, bought loads on Sunday. Managed to get all best before 28th onwards which is perfect for me and freeze what's left :smiley:
