we had this problem the last time there was a price glitch on here for the washing machine/dryer a few months ago. They cancelled all orders and handed out £50 vouchers in the end but that was after a lot of chasing.

ive worked in retail 20 years - thats totally incorrect. a contract is only formed when a despatch email is sent.
if an item is wrongly priced instore on a shelf - legally the retailer does not have to sell the item at the price displayed.
if an item is scanned through the checkout and cashier believed the item is incorrectly going through the till at the price stated on the till the item can be refused to be sold.

It is just the doors, the manual says "cabinet not included" :smiley:

These are most likely wardrobes from the pictures and dimensions but even if they are doors I bet you could make a wardrobe out of them yourself after ordering a few. A nice DIY project :smiley:

Many years ago I used to work for Argos as a Stock Controller & Quality Controller at their distribution centre. It would be quite easy to check the code on the system, find the location and check the stock.

This may be the full wardrobe or an admin' error on the site, I've no idea.

Based on that, then the D59cm on their selling page description must be the complete wardrobe?

I think i can clear this up. I have a very similar wardrobe to this from Homebase. Argos and Homebase sell the same stuff. I am positive that this is for doors, but the reason the dimensions state 59cm depth is that this is the packed dimensions. This is for a pair of doors, you need 2 doors for a wardrobe. So those ordering 9 would hypothetically recieve 18 doors in total. These things are chipboard but are very heavy. Wouldnt fancy trying to build anything out of them though as they wont hold up to much chopping or nails etc.

I have this wardrobe but with mirrored doors, paid full price unfortunately but worth it. It is fab!! Heat added, bargain if honoured.

The trick is ALWAYS take staff members names and ID number, Go straight to a manager every time, Be polite and also request your customer record that usually scares them :smiley:

Called customer AFTER I received the cancellation txt n they said that someone called customer service this morning that's how they became aware of this and they immediately put a stop to all the orders even though the monies had been taken. So next time there is a glitch people ,, please do not phone up about it , even if you are envious that you missed out ,, I'm beginning to wonder if glitches are worth sharing ,,, if I find one I will let yous know 3 days after I find it so the folk that jump straight on the blower don't ruin it ,,,anyone find a glitch make sure you aren't left short from your generosity in sharing your find for someone to ruin it by exposing it to the company ,,,,,

I think its probably best to wait until your glitch is despatched before posting the deal. Some may have slipped through unnoticed. One of the golden rules is don't contact them, its a game of wait and see, patience required. Im actually glad in this instance as didn't realise there were two in a pack. Its like the picture on the first picture in this thread, misprice bingo. Theres always one.

That's the spirit, keep it all to yourself so that the community can't have a go too. I'd doubt you'd be coming here at all if it wasn't for posts like this that people know full well there's a slim to none chance of something coming through. We're all here for the one that does come through, they still happen from time to time regardless of phone touters or eBay hoarders.

I called them earlier today, they put me through to the department that deals with larger items and when i got through the answer machine msg was, due to an emergency we have had to vacate the building sorry for the inconvenience! Im like! What a coincidence, probably couldn't handle the complaint calls! I rang back and the other department said they are still closed try again later...

No cancellation email here yet which is odd?

I called Argos as I received a cancelled order (but still hadn't been refunded) and they said they are able to offer a £20 voucher so worth calling up!

Rang their number and call centre manager said "You ticked terms and conditions and all we'll do is refund your money".
Anyone can make a mistake and we all knew this was one, but their attitude is just not right.
So folks, before you buy anything from Argos you must read their terms and conditions first.
Their response will certainly affect me when I consider using them again

Seems odd how some people are receiving goodwill vouchers and others nothing! I wonder how that works...?

Of course you should read the terms and conditions, not much point having them if you don't, and what more were you expecting on top of a refund?

Not that I've had a refund yet so will call them Monday if not by then, haven't even had a single email about the order either!

To add insult to injury (well, if I had really wanted them to honour it) I have just received a support email from Argos with an instruction manual and offers to help with the installation. LOL!

First girl I spoke to said she would process the refund for me no problem.

Just called Argos & only got offered £5 gift card delivered within 5 working days.:disappointed: Customer service advisor had calm assy attitude reading the scripted T&C's that was contract was only agreed & accepted upon customers have received they orders on site location which goes above & beyond of Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014.

Even tried to pull the common sense debate why would a item measuring that size would be charged at 1 penny? Yeah right, like all customers do work for Argos & know what kind of stocks they are price at 1p.:laughing:

Guys you need to speak to a supervisor & make an official complaint for any gesture of goodwill (they can't stop calling it compensation :laughing: ) as I wasn't aware that the monies taken would not be refunded automatically unless the customer calls back & query the orders even when Argos Pricing Error‏ email was sent (18.12.15).

So it appears that the orders could still be active on their systems but probably suspended pending customers to call back to authorise cancellation. Make sure cardholder is present to verify card details.

If I didn't called up anytime sooner, can't think would the cancellation will complete with refund process can take. Was told refund of monies could take 5-7 working days to complete.

Iv just had an email saying my order has been rescheduled for the 12 January after having a cancellation email ,,, they took payment of delivery and be paver refunded me it ,,,, and using the order number in today's email I logged into Argos and it's saying the doors will be out on the 12th
