If that's the price on the website, and you successfully purchase it at that price (checkout & receipt/email confirmation), they have to honour it under the rules of offer & acceptance in contract law, I think (seems a long time since first year of my degree). :man:

ive worked in retail 20 years - thats totally incorrect. a contract is only formed when a despatch email is sent.
if an item is wrongly priced instore on a shelf - legally the retailer does not have to sell the item at the price displayed.
if an item is scanned through the checkout and cashier believed the item is incorrectly going through the till at the price stated on the till the item can be refused to be sold.

Even when the orders are cancelled you suddenly realize the depth of expertise on HUKD regarding the current legal obligations of seller/customer re the binding terms of a possible contract and the chances of receiving the product

Many years ago I used to work for Argos as a Stock Controller & Quality Controller at their distribution centre. It would be quite easy to check the code on the system, find the location and check the stock.
This may be the full wardrobe or an admin' error on the site, I've no idea.

Based on that, then the D59cm on their selling page description must be the complete wardrobe?

mine just went through ok but yes they have screwed me too. ordered a kindle fire tab for 34.99 (as posted on here) and received a faulty item. returned it and received another faulty item - this went on to a total of 5 tabs delivered, 5 returned faulty (dead pixels and light bleeding on the edges of the screen). The 5th tab I didn't even order yet was charged for. They have since returned one charge of £34.99 but I'm still waiting for a refund on the other. At the time of writing I have made over 30 calls to them and spent a total of nigh on 6 hours on the phone. Not impressed...

Mo they don't. I'm instances like this where it's clearly a pricing error the retailer is not obliged to sell the item to you. if it went to court the judge would clearly see you were trying to take advantage of a retailers error. Had the price been higher then that's entirely a different matter.

I think i can clear this up. I have a very similar wardrobe to this from Homebase. Argos and Homebase sell the same stuff. I am positive that this is for doors, but the reason the dimensions state 59cm depth is that this is the packed dimensions. This is for a pair of doors, you need 2 doors for a wardrobe. So those ordering 9 would hypothetically recieve 18 doors in total. These things are chipboard but are very heavy. Wouldnt fancy trying to build anything out of them though as they wont hold up to much chopping or nails etc.
Good luck, but you wont get them and for those who have ordered 9 pairs i would take that as a blessing!

I used to then one day i thought f**k this these companies have millions, we pay ridiculous mark up on most products we buy so when they fluff up why shouldn't they pay? The trick is ALWAYS take staff members names and ID number, Go straight to a manager every time, Be polite and also request your customer record that usually scares them :smiley:

I think its probably best to wait until your glitch is despatched before posting the deal. Some may have slipped through unnoticed. Just called Argos & only got offered £5 gift card delivered within 5 working days.:disappointed: Customer service advisor had calm assy attitude reading the scripted T&C's that was contract was only agreed & accepted upon customers have received they orders on site location which goes above & beyond of Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014.
Even tried to pull the common sense debate why would a item measuring that size would be charged at 1 penny? Yeah right, like all customers do work for Argos & know what kind of stocks they are price at 1p.:laughing:
Guys you need to speak to a supervisor & make an official complaint for any gesture of goodwill (they can't stop calling it compensation :laughing: ) as I wasn't aware that the monies taken would not be refunded automatically unless the customer calls back & query the orders even when Argos Pricing Error email was sent (18.12.15).
So it appears that the orders could still be active on their systems but probably suspended pending customers to call back to authorise cancellation. Make sure cardholder is present to verify card details.
If I didn't called up anytime sooner, can't think would the cancellation will complete with refund process can take. Was told refund of monies could take 5-7 working days to complete.

I'm a joiner so they will get used one way or another ,, these come as just doors and at just under 1 meter wide (900mm) I may use 3 in my bedroom , the doors come with the runner set , anyone who received the doors will have to buy a track and build them into their room, it isn't that hard to do

The legally binding contract is complete when a retailer accepts an order. However, acceptance does not necessarily happen at the point of order. Even the confirmation email may not be an acceptance. Some retailers reserve the right to cancel an order up to the point of delivery. The second they despatch, it's a legally binding contract and they can do sod all about it. Just gotta get them on the van! Every store is different in their approach to offer and acceptance - sometimes worth reading the T&Cs! :man:
secondly - was a very high argos management member that informed me of this not someone who works in a store. so no they are no wrong.
if an item is wrongly priced instore on a shelf - legally the retailer does not have to sell the item at the price displayed.
if an item is scanned through the checkout and cashier believed the item is incorrectly going through the till at the price stated on the till the item can be refused to be sold.

Even when the orders are cancelled you suddenly realize the depth of expertise on HUKD regarding the current legal obligations of seller/customer re the binding terms of a possible contract and the chances of receiving the product
For this deal would bet on Zilch - but worth a try and we'll all be better off for this attempt!

2. We receive 4 doors. (Will then purchase the inners OR buy tracks & build my own)
3. Argos will be unable to honour the order and refund the payment back.

Anyone can make a mistake and we all knew this was one, but their attitude is just not right.
So folks, before you buy anything from Argos you must read their terms and conditions first.
Their response will certainly affect me when I consider using them again
Of course you should read the terms and conditions, not much point having them if you don't, and what more were you expecting on top of a refund?
Not that I've had a refund yet so will call them Monday if not by then, haven't even had a single email about the order either!

Even tried to pull the common sense debate why would a item measuring that size would be charged at 1 penny? Yeah right, like all customers do work for Argos & know what kind of stocks they are price at 1p.:laughing:
Guys you need to speak to a supervisor & make an official complaint for any gesture of goodwill (they can't stop calling it compensation :laughing: ) as I wasn't aware that the monies taken would not be refunded automatically unless the customer calls back & query the orders even when Argos Pricing Error email was sent (18.12.15).
So it appears that the orders could still be active on their systems but probably suspended pending customers to call back to authorise cancellation. Make sure cardholder is present to verify card details.
If I didn't called up anytime sooner, can't think would the cancellation will complete with refund process can take. Was told refund of monies could take 5-7 working days to complete.
Sham company with their T&C's & order process procedures.:disappointed:
