Be careful, these are shipped from China I believe, and will be considered 'grey market', so any warranty won't work in the UK.
Good price if you're happy with all that though.

Nonsense.
Apple warranty is global.no matter where you bought the product, you can claim warranty anywhere in the world.
No receipt needed as their warranty duration is tied to serial number.

I strongly recommend NOT buying from this site. I placed an order for this exact item on Saturday 28 November, they took the money straight away of course. As of yesterday evening, the order was still unshipped. I have now asked for a refund. Bearing in mind it will come from Hong Kong, you'll be looking at 2+ weeks minimum before you see your item. Communication is awful, they claim to have live chat but it never works. Just look at their facebook page, full of worried customers, all asking "where is my stuff?"

If it is the same warranty as on iphones it won't be valid in the uk. This is why it's often uneconomical to buy apple products from the US.

I don't believe this is true.
I just asked Apple this question directly, they said warranty for non authorised retailers is not international, and to contact the seller in question regarding the warranty.
Eglobalcentral have even stated on their site to suggest they would provide warranty, not Apple.
I'd be wary of any of this, unless you're happy to mess around with a warranty handled outside of the UK.

If this is shipped from outside the EU , then there is a risk of £34 VAT and £15 admin charge being added. Just to muddy the warranty question further, I've ordered a grey import from Pixelelectronics on Rakuten - they ship from within the UK but they state it comes with a manufacturers warranty and a member who purchased one from earlier in the year, got theirs repaired by Apple.....

I have bought a few items from eGlobalcentral and saved about £500 doing so. I have ordered on a Friday night and the item has arrived the following Tuesday by UPS shipped from Singapore. Despite my initial fears, I have never had to pay any import duty.
I don't know about Apple's warranty, I had always believed that it was international but as for the items I have bought, eGlobalcentral have their own warranty with a UK returns address which, in the case of the Nikon and Zoom equipment I bought, is 2 years. However, I registered them on their respective UK sites and have received technical support. But my philosophy has always been to manage my own risk, as far as consumer goods go, especially if there are considerable savings to be made. I have never bought an extended warranty, for example, and the amount I have saved would have purchased new items many times over. Why pay companies to manage my risk?
As for grey imports such as these, I have saved, on average, about a third of the best UK price whilst still being covered by a warranty which is the same period of the manufacturer's warranty.
I am anticipating buying another £400+ item early next year and will have no hesitation buying from eGlobalcenral or one of the other far eastern exporters. I suspect that the fearmongering is from people who don't want other people to save money because they are to scared to do so themselves. Incidentally, you can choose to pay by PayPal so there is an additional level of protection.
I'm just a bit perplexed why the posts I have made to eGlobalcentral deals (and similar) have been deleted.

I can't say. But with any foreign merchant that is "new" to HUKD, the mods have to balance the risks against the financial gains for members. DX, Focalprice etc were not initially allowed on HUKD until sufficient members could vouch for them. Same has probably happened with eglobalcentral.

Got a sealed iPad Mini 3 Space Grey 16Gb for 235. Bought from Tesco but never used, still sealed. Check out my for sale page on hukd:
Indeed it seems I was mistaken. Macbooks (which I used to have), do indeed have international warranties. iPhones and cellular ipads do not, most likely because models do vary slightly between regions.
It looks like wifi iPads technically fall in the same category as iPhones, which seems like a con given that wifi iPads are the same in all countries. But people have had success getting them fixed abroad under Applecare, which I suspect is because there are no regional differences between wifi iPads.
This is a bit of a pain because I just bought a European iPhone 6. So hopefully it doesn't break!

I've just gone onto live chat with Apple again, they said the same thing, I asked 'Does Apple provide a warranty on products that i've imported from non authorised retailers?"
Edit: I just quizzed the apple rep some more, as to why they can't guarantee warranty and they said:
So actually, my original comment was wrong in that providing the item was bought by the seller in the last 12 months, there will still be some warranty remaining, but if not, Apple won't touch it. So you may, or may not get Apple warranty.
If it was me, I wouldn't be risking it. Eglobal themselves even state the warranty would be with them, not the manufacturer.

The answer that the apple chat rep gave you was vague since you mentioned the word "unauthorised seller" to them.still they didn't say no.
I know what I'm talking about since I have first hand experience and faced that s matter multiple times.
when you buy a brand new Apple product,it doesn't matter who you bought it from (authorised or non authorised) it means nothing.
there reason is the way Apple warranty works is different than other brands.
if your product is brand new,IT WILL HAVE 12 MONTHS WARRANTY,and IT WILL BE HONOURED BY APPLE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.regardless of where youbought it and who younought it from.
The warranty is tied to serial number and is based on an online Apple data base.it has nothing to do with receipts,or region.
You chech warranty validity and duration of Apple products by entering their serial number on :
thats how Apple themselves check whether the product is covered under warranty or not.the seller and region it was bought in/from is irrelevant.

Sorry, but in the grand scheme of things if I had the choice between your 'experience', 2 apple reps and the sellers own comments, I wouldn't be taking your word for it.

you are free to do whatever you think is right.
I won't benefit either way.
However this is a proven issue and almost anyone who knows how Apple warranty works will confirm it.
the "Apple Reps" on chat room, just gave you a vague "maybe" answer because you deliberately mentioned the words "bought from un-authorised seller".its something negative and they had to give a "political" ( for lack of better word)answer.yet they didn't tell you no.they said maybe.
instead, just call them and ask : I bought this brand new iPad from abroad and the serial says its still under warranty, can it be repaired here in the UK? And the answer will most definitely be Yes.
another proven example will be when you buy a second hand Apple product off ebay..if you check the serial and the warranty is still valid,it can be taken to any Apple store here for repair.no questions will be asked about the origin and the past owner of the product and no receipt will be requested.it could have been bought in Mongolia by its previous owner..as long as the serial number shows valid warranty it is covered.
