Ok for most uses apart from downloading really. Pretty good for 70p I reckon

Plenty fast enough for unlocking regional tv streams and anonymous browsing for me.

There is a good reason for using US servers in certain states and that is because they are (surprisingly) better protected legally against against authority intervention.

I'm a bit clueless with this lark, but have got it anyway.
Connected to my TV are a Virgin Tivo box, Fire Stick, Xbox 360 and an ageing Win 10 PC that struggles with video.
Which of these can I use this service with for Netflix US/CA purposes, and how do I go about it?
There's basically no instructions provided after you download the app.
Uridium to wotguvnotmeguv
19 Dec 15#45
just the PC I'm afraid. choose a US server and then browse to Netflix and it will think you are in US.
topss to wotguvnotmeguv
19 Dec 15#51
If you're not too good with these things, then as Uridium pointed out, just the PC. Other options would be to get a router (VPN service that allows it also) that allows you to add the VPN settings to it. So everything would access it.
Best set-up would be to use an old PC running pfSense (or similar) and everything in the household would connect to the internet via that. Overkill for most people though. Big advantage is that you can choose which clients access the VPN or go via the 'normal' internet connection.

In that case I'm not sure it is working with Win 10 - after the login screen absolutely nothing's happening. The login window disappears, it's running in the background, but there's nothing to choose or indeed do anything with.
Uridium to wotguvnotmeguv

You login to the VPN app, it connects and thats all you need to do.
Edit: ah...if you mean it disappears after the Windows 10 login....you click the VPN app icon from the Windows tool tray

6 servers total is a joke and will barely support a couple dozen users per server if there's no bandwidth limiting. Absolutely useless and not worth saving the money over. If additional privacy means squat to you just fork Out a bit more for PIA, or hell, get your own dedicated server to use for less than a fiver a month through kimsufi. Other than that there's always Tor, speeds will probably be on par with this.
Uridium to adv
19 Dec 15#56
You do know when it says "6 servers" they are more than likely just server aliases right?
you can have many underlying servers sitting there presented as a single name with round robin NLB

Just for the record, downloaded now and did a speed test (20mbps), but trying to stream a video it was pausing ocasionally. From what I could see the servers were 4x USA and 1x Czech.
Can't go wrong for $1.01 anonymous browsing (assuming Paypal don't hit me with a GPB - USA conversion).

Using the CZ server (shows it as in Netherlands) its as fast as CyberGhost, however it has a dns leak (ipleak dnsleaktest) showing my isp. Tried the fix on dnsleaktest but it won't activate the files and when I manually do it it says it can't make the changes to the adapter etc. Changed to using Google DNS servers but not sure if this is any good? Does AnonVPN have dns servers to use?
Uridium to Zek
20 Dec 15#59
DNSLeak and DNSLeaktest show only the AnonVPN DNS server for me (using both CZ/NY), not a sniff of my ISP DNS but then again my router is configured to use Google DNS so everything behind my router even without VPN connected wouldn't show my ISP DNS servers. That said with VPN connected Google DNS servers were not being leaked.
Looks fine to me
Zek
20 Dec 15#60
Whats the name of the server showing up on DNSLeak? Is it one connected to AnonVPN? I am using Windows 10, apparently DNS leaking is more a Windows problem, are you using MAC OS/Linux? When set to auto (using ISP's) with Cyberghost it uses some German DNS servers connected to Cyberghost, but with AnonVPN it shows my ISP, however if I use googles DNS servers on both adapters (Wireless and TAP) it shows some servers in the country its connected to (Netherlands on CZ server)
