Purchased one yesterday. Installed the app2fire on my LG Tablet and sideloaded the Kodi app.
It plays my himemade 4K videos downscaling them to 1080p nicely.
However a few concerns/issues:
1. Didn't seem to like an NTFS formatted microSD or USB Pen Drive
2. Formatted a 16G Pen drive as FAT32 and copied some files over, it played these OK from Kodi, but of course there is the 4G file limit issue on FAT32. Any way to get around this?
3. Tried it with a 1Tb portable HDD and it just made clicking sounds, so don't think the 1.4Amp power supply has enough juice?

Try spinztv it's a lot more stable than the beast, I have tried 3 versions of the beast (v3, v4 and beast tv) and I found most apps to not run properly or even run at all. If you install ares wizard and browse the builds spinztv can be found in there

I take it you mean spinztv i have just put that build on a box and it is the best build I have used so far. I'm using renegadestv guide at the minute as no programme info was showing in ivue but can't seem to get Zeus streams to show up in stream selection

I have a 4K camera (Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-1000) and I use Adobe Premier Pro to create 4K MP4 videos.
My WD TV Drive barfs at these files, I assume this would play them ad downscale them to 1080p at the same time?

Good, also had problems with beast. used Ares wizard to install (which can install a ton of apps). Sphinx tv (Sorry was not Spartan build, Sphinx is good though) is lightweight and has ivue guide. I had to reassign channels to Zeus but works for movies etc.
What I did was load Ivue tv guide up, filter out all the rubbish channels or major duplicates (like 8 discovery channels to one channel) Kept the premium movie channels and then removed stream from all of them I wanted and then selected Zeus.
IPTV Stalker is tempermental for me and stutters more than Zeus does.

Setup Plex for home movie collection Amazon Prime is have amazon prime. And install Spartan Build on Kodi accessing all common apps on kodi = everything you ever need from a home entertainment system. Also voice search is really good

Could be a little misleading.
Firestarter doesn't side load an .apk it's just a launcher.
To side load you'd need to use ADB or ES file manager and gave the .apk files on and SD card or USB pen drive.
