This 50% off is far better than the current 4 for 3 but pity it is only for a day this weekend rather than next. I know you could freeze them but prefer stuff from chilled.

Really good selection of party food - mini beef wellingtons, Brie & cranberry parcels, various 'posh' chicken sticks as well as the usual mini bites, Indian nibbles and sausage rolls etc. Use by dates aren't brilliant, but it's all freezable so worth stocking up for Christmas!

actually call initially goes to main switchboard then they put u through to the store/dept of choice... its then getting them to answer which is the difficulty especially on a busy day

just been down to my local and got few bits. can confirm fresh party stuff was 50% off and little party cakes and desserts where the same. Frozen party food said 3 for 2 on it I believe.

So I've found - then the call goes back to the call centre, where the staff, understandably perhaps, are clueless about what's going on in individual stores. M&S 'customer service' is pretty dire these days - unlike Waitrose!

Most of the stuff I seen in one store had tomorrow's date. Went to another & got dates around 15/16th.

I'm the same - don't want to freeze stuff as you might as well have bought frozen to begin with (always a great deal cheaper) and it kind of defeats the object.

As for how long they will last it all depends on what the item is. Some keep a good deal longer after the use by date than others. I am always willing to have things like veg spring rolls several days later than you are "meant to" but a lot of this party food is prawn and chicken and rice heavy and have already been cooked once so aren't always the best items to have days beyond their use by dates.

On Sparks card Web page I activated a £10 off £50 on food as well, it worked for me this morning ☺

Went early this morning to the Wolstanton (stoke) branch, hardly anything had best before dates lasting until Christmas. Great though if you have room in the freezer. Bought about six things, loads of choice, a lot of things were about £3. Also stocked up on wine, the lock keepers offer posted the other day. 6 bottles of Chardonnay (should have been £10 a bottle), 6 party food packs ,a bottle of honeycomb baileys type liquor all for £41. Would have been close to £100 without the discounts. Bargain.

Hubby just went to our local one and looks like he was charged full price in everything party food... or he picked up all the wrong stuff.

Fantastic deal just stocked the freezer up with some lovely looking stuff to enjoy over Christmas

£3 each is a rip off, I buy stuff and make it myself it is cheaper and often tastier. If I were to spend a tenner I'd have enough party food for 50 people easily.

Thats lunch sorted for today. Ate several samples of: beetroot stained smoked salmon (nothing to write home about), some chopped sprout and nut mix (as pointless as it sounds), open chirizo parcel things (excessively salty), filo and cheese thing (what?) and loads of their biscuits (actually good).

Managed to buy some of the xmas half price food too, hope theyre worth the reduced prices!

Just as well the late Dr Spooner isn't watching this thread on party food. :wink:

Don't get their cocktail sausages and hot chicken bites (chewy crap). Both absolutely minging, reminded me of Iceland.

Just got back and they were manic.. people had trolleys full of party food which was a bit crazy! Some of the stuff went through at full price and I had to wait for 20 minutes to get a refund so check your receipt before leaving the store if you're going. Staff seemed super confused. Use by dates seemed to be from 15th December up to 20th depending on what I got.

Well went to my local m&s funny the only party food was at the end of the isle in a tiny fridge an where it normally is was replaced with normal food. Bahhhh humbug m&s

Picked up some goodies today, loads of people at Cribbs, Bristol

Just looked at my sparks tailored offers. What a load of rubbish all things I don't buy, bakery, autograph flowers, tights (Sains has better quality) men's autograph shirts and frozen turkey.

Went to my local at 8:05 this morning - no labels indicating an offer and shelves full of stuff. Picked up some nice bits for office party. Just been back now; labels were out and all the best value stuff had gone sadly. Spent £34 Today I didn't need to but nevermind, it's Christmas after all.

I went in there today and got the impression that they had bumped up the prices then reduced it by half. Some of the boxes were £6 reduced to £3. Was it really £6 to start with? You couldn't buy anything that wasn't freezable though unless you were eating it early.

They are very, very nice. We picked up a few packs to take care of birthday party buffets before Christmas.

I second that. They're delicious. Had them last year with a home made spiced apple sauce.

Wasn't 50% off in the m&s food in my bp garage. I even asked at the tills so must must be the main stores

Your guess is wrong! They had a mixture of breast and skin in the centres hence chewy. Showed them instore and they refunded me as they could see the inconsistency of the product. Hate people that think they know everything when they clearly don't!

Was manic in mine. Of course the prices were inflated to start with but at half price there were some things that stood out. 12 mini macaroons for £3.50 were particularly good given the range of flavours and colours. The pork crackling straws looked interesting for £2 and things like 16 cocktail sausages wrapped in streaky bacon (again £2) were good value given the quality and the fact they are chilled not frozen. However some stuff was still overpriced even with 50% off and the sell by dates (some the 13th) meant you didn't have long to use.

So picked up a few items I am happy with but glad to leave a lot of it behind.

Got a £5 off £50 till split at the till valid until Xmas Eve. Not exactly generous.......

Didn't see those but sound delish! I was quite late going (after 3) so was amazed to get what I did. If they had run the same offer next Saturday it would have been even more manic.

Had m&s buffet food for party last week, no its not cheap but its good quality which is my prime concern, not price. Guests were asking where it was from as loved it, hence almost no wastage (apart from salad, the fat b@@@@@@s)

Just prepared the ones i bought today they taste crap the sauce is nice i am tempted to return the other unopened packet coz i am that disappointed

Thank you, picked up quite a bit today with dates up to 23rd Dec, luckily we had a huge choice with it constantly being replenished, a lot will be frozen for a large party we're having just after Christmas but not noticed any difference before in fresh or frozen. Didn't buy some of it as I couldn't justify it even at half price as it was totally overpriced to begin with.
