Bought one of these a couple of weeks back when they came down to £79.99 and for a basic tablet it performs surprisingly well. Essentially runs stock android 5.0 with minimal bloatware installed unlike some cheap tablets. Not a bad price for the spec and it also includes a 2 year warranty.

I blame Samsung's resource hogging Touchwiz interface myself  I very rarely notice any lag with this Alba tablet, It's great for the money. My mum also has one and we both use ours with Nova Launcher plus the fact that it came with no bloatware, Its really quite a snappy tablet.

Spec wise the CPU and RAM are the same as the Amazon Fire 7. However, this offers 16 GB storage and the bigger screen

I had a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 before and that only had 1GB RAM and was a bit laggy...admittedly it was only a dual core CPU

Good deal I think. We have a Samsung galaxy tab 3 and our youngest son uses it, it is rubbish, looking for a replacement for him.

I know my other 2 have Asus tablets and they are pretty good but the Samsung galaxy one lags like hell, he gets really frustrated with it.

Bloatware is additional apps from the manufacturer, so I have a Tesco hudl and there's applications in there like Tesco Bank, Tesco Groceries etc, stuff they've already installed in there and which you can't remove.
Nova Launcher basically speeds up the use of your device, you can flick between screens really fast and you can edit stuff you couldn't do on normal Android. All legal.

I bought one of these recently in Argos, Galway for about 110 euro or so. I have been setting it up as a present, and have been very impressed with its performance. The tablet responds well in stock settings and has a great screen for watching videos. The silicone bumper is a welcome extra for protection. The only bloatware I noticed was the Argos app, and the battery life seems good. I am happy with this purchase.

Thanks for posting- a good deal and heat added.
However, while it wouldn't affect my using it as a convenient wifi monitor for my security camera, it appears not to have GPS which may limit its appeal to some.

Bought one last Friday when they were £79. Initially, looks a really good tablet. Unfortunately it crashed, refused to turn on or or off no matter what was done to it, so it was returned and refunded. If it works, though, it looks a good bit of kit

The Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 is a more astute buy than the S.

Bought one for a friend...picked up last night...although it initially seemed ok for the money, there is a dead pixel in the middle of the screen :disappointed:
It's going back.

I bought 2, one each for me and the Mrs. I've updated the pre installed apps, but not installed games I play yet.
looks well built and the screen isn't too bad. The tablet is quite heavy but that's not a bad thing.

Bought one for 8 year old daughter to replace an older tablet. Only gripe is that the battery seems to take ages to charge.

Can someone please tell me what the cameras are like on this tablet. I heard the front facing one is 0.3MP which would be very poor using Skype or similar apps :disappointed:
