Abercrombie’s attitude towards plus-sized women derives from CEO Mike Jeffries....
"He doesn’t want larger people shopping in his store, he wants thin and beautiful people, He doesn’t want his core customers to see people who aren’t as hot as them wearing his clothing. People who wear his clothing should feel like they’re one of the ‘cool kids.'”
“It’s almost everything. That’s why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone other than that,”
“In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids,” he told the site. “Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely."

I find it really tough to rate these deals, given the incredible price difference between the UK & US for identical products. Good deal compared to UK RRP, bad deal in general for purchase given you can get it a lot cheaper in the US.

As someone far removed from their target demographic, I only visit their local store to break wind, then quickly leave.

Anyone know if it's possible go onto USA website from the uk? Automatically reroutes to .co.uk every time I do .com. Wanted to check their stuff as friend was going to order it for me from there.

The quality of A&F clothing is awful,so thin you can see through them. Seems twist after one wash. Spend your money somewhere else.

You must be buying fakes. I work in fashion buying and it is well known in the industry that Abercrombie uses some of the heaviest weight and best quality cottons available.

the carbon footprint of a well toned gym addict is actually quite high due to the amount of calories they burn and extra food they need to consume.
My BMI is 23 and I approve this message. I also like A & F and holister as it's the same stuff.

Mike Jeffries did however step down in 2014. I think a lot of companies have this attitude but he had the balls or nerve to say it. Think Jimmy Choo shoes (they don't look built to carry the 18-20 stone woman!) :-).

Well said. We don't want fat overweight people. Even their carbon foot print is bigger that the normal people because they eat a lot and **** a lot.
They should diet and go down the gym. Become healthier and they wear what ever they want. The man is right. Good looking people attract other good looking people.
The overweight society should get a gym pass not moan on forums and munching popcorn at home in front of the pc

I got some good deals last time this was posted and the free delivery is a nice extra. I was in Florida earlier this year and taking into account T-shirts, as that's what I bought, these sale prices are cheaper than the usual store prices in the US.

In a way fortunately I kinda have a muscular body so when my sister got me at shirt from USA I loved it and it has a label on the inside saying muscle fit or whatever. They even make some people look muscly because of the fit.
Anyway what I'm trying to say is I thought yeah cool but sometimes now I do think they are a bit showy like you are saying hey look at me and part of me doesn't really like that

Yes it is cheaper in America, I found I was paying $70 dollars for a hoody there and it be £70 back in the UK which absolutely sucks!
The Abercrombie sale can be good and also there is a Abercrombie outlet in Ashford for anyone in the south! I've never been but heard good reviews! E.g jeans for £15

The Ashford outlet A&F is pretty good actually. Lots of 'clearance' stuff and always worth a rummage. Ladies tees circa £15. Luckily I can fit into boys XL tops and jackets so even cheaper for me! Got a boys top for £8 a few weeks ago. Clerk asked if it was for my son, he pulled a weird face when I said it was for me!

Import duty, lol. Customs have got more to worry about than people going on holiday to the USA and bringing back clothes. I think it's a fair point that this gear is way cheaper in the USA as it demonstrates we are being ripped off by A&F UK. Its all made in the usual 'cheap clothing' countries, so it doesn't cost them much more to ship to UK than USA.

If you think you can get the deal cheaper elsewhere factoring in the cost of a plane ticket, accomedation in the US if required, travel to and from an Abercrombie store, paying the import duty at customs if more than £250 worth (i think) then it's not a good deal. If you live in the UK and this is the cheapest you can buy these products in this country then it's a good deal, regardless if you can get a better deal IF you lived in another country.
Given your logic, every mobile phone deal here is rubbish given how much cheaper a phone contract costs in India or China!! :-)
