Was looking for a couple of cheap drives for general use and found this. Restricted to 1 per transaction over a 10 day period with proceeds going to Children's Cancer Research Charity. What's not to like!

Just received mine, it is legit (full 8GB tested)... it is a terrible USB drive but for the occasional use and for £1 it is ok.
Regardless, there's no real profit in these sticks for the seller, after postage and ebay/paypal fees they are left with nothing really. So its not like they're trying to get rich quick. If you was going to buy it based on them mentioning the proceeds will go to charity, after all fees they'd be left with 10p or 20p. So you may as well just donate £1 to charity.

Or they're just buying feedback in the name of charity by selling cheap unbranded/no-name memory sticks.

just curious as i presumed it was in place to say stop joe bloggs going ok im raising money for ---- but in reality is raising it for an xbox one ----- not doubting the seller here or trying to worry anyone life is a learning process and i am just curious as to the sellers listing "XMAS OFFER: THIS IS ON OFFER AT A PROMOTIONAL PRICE OF 99p (with free UK postage, the postage alone cost us 84p). We are not making any money on this and all revenue from this is going towards Children's Cancer Research Charity. " which charity ? wheres the charity's registered number ? and would not a bit bigger retail price have benefited them more then 15p value wise 2.00 would have still been a good deal just does not make sense .

usually if going to charity there is a listing function to specify all proceeds are going to charity and to which charity great deal but i am dubious.

That's only specific charities i think, that ebay are affiliated with. If you have your own specific charity you want to donate to you can't choose that option on ebay, again...i think.

eBay has an option to turn on charity donations and I'm kind of surprised it's not switched on for this deal - the cynic in me says that it's very hard to prove either way without accusations.

I thought eBay sellers were supposed to have 10k feedback before deals are allowed to be posted?

Seems commendable, assuming capacity is as stated. Listing states postage will cost seller 84p. Are there no ebay/paypal fees for a 99p listing?
