You obviously haven't used windows since XP if that's what you think. I have Windows 7 at work (5 year old machine), Windows 10 on my laptop at home (2 years old, upgraded few months ago to 10) and both running as well as the day I got them (laptop even faster with 10 on it). However my old Samsung Galaxy and from what I've seen of friends' Notes & Tabs, it's Android that has the problem with slow downs after a few months when you start to install a few apps and games. iOS doesn't slow down, however, that's only if you never update the OS; it seems Apple always add enough new "features" that old tablets become sluggish when you "upgrade".
All that said, I'm not sure there's enough good apps for Windows yet that a tablet on it's own is much use. A hybrid device with a keyboard so you can use Windows properly yes, but for pure tablet use I'd rather get a cheapy Android even though I know I'd end up binning it after 6 months.

Does it compare to the 9" Tesco Connect 9 or the Lenovo A8 from Argos?
I have both and haven't opened either yet!

This has 32Gb double the storage and RAM 2GB than 9" tesco. This on paper is better than Tesco's tablet.

According to the Point of View web site the 805 which looks very similar has a screen res of 1280 x 800.
Cracking deal and one I would have gone for but I go the Lenovo S8 50 a few months back.

Tesco's unit is 1GB RAM and 16GB storage, which is really low, as Windows on it's own will take up most of that. This appears to be the better deal, if the screen resolution is the same, I can't find that piece of info, it's the only thing holding me back buying this.

I think it depends on what your doing, general surfing and video streaming yes the tablet will do. Swiping between icons and pages very fast and nice. Basic games and tablet apps work ok.
However, If you think your going do anything more than that, you will struggle. Multi-tasking is a painfully slow and so is itunes syncing. Any sort of video encoding you can forget about it. Runs some tablet games nicely but when you try something like Minecraft it stutters about and looks like its going to freeze. Gets quite hot after playing few games and videos. When opening some applications they take a good 5 seconds before you see anything pop up.
If your thinking of replacing an iPad or any recent Android tablets you will regret it.
I buy everything that tempts me  Just have not had a good experience with Windows Tablets. So I did not buy this.
Heat added as its still a good tablet for LIGHT use.
Tesco are good with returns. You don't really have anything to loose. If you have not experienced it yet then you should.

Ive got a similar spec dell venue 8 pro and through steam I've played civ 5, xcom enemy within and ftl. they all run fine, though xcom needed a little fiddling.

looks like a clone of the linx 8/connect 9 with slightly higher specs on ram and storage. Screen should be the same as on them. Not sure if worth paying an extra £10 compared to the tesco deal.
Maybe worth checking out the Chuwi tablet which is probably better for the same price as this staples deal.

surely 2gb of ram instead of 1gb on the connect is worth a tenner more!

Yep, got my mum Fire HD6 for her seventieth and she thinks it's great. So easy to use and convenient for reading books, much better than stock android for her needs, and I doubt she'd have got the hang of Win10 as easily either.

27 Nov 15#25
Definitely o for this over he tesco deal. tesco deal is 16gb which will leave you next to nothing to store picture or add office, 1gb is the minimum ram also and will mean your tablet will be sluggish when multitasking.
The teesside park store had about 10 left today. Does it have a HDMI out? Does it come with Office 365?
zaheer2003 to boroboy2007
29 Nov 15#29
i haven't got it but if u read the specs above, it says word, excel MOBILE - which is not the same as office 365 - if it had office 365 that would make it a great deal!
Can anyone who has it confirm what I have written.
Also does it have HDMI port?

any update if these are better than the Tesco - Connect 10 9" for £49
Raikkon85
30 Nov 151#33
I got mine today, I can confirm that there is no HDMI port and a single mini USB with adaptor to full size USB. It does not have an aluminium body like the 800W - plastic back - but the build quality looks okay. Seems quite difficult to get exact specs online. Still - it is 2GB RAM and 32GB SSD so all is not bad - theres nothing else this spec for the price.

Yes i have been trying to get more info about it online before i take the plunge and open the box as i also have the Tesco - Connect 10 9" on order to arrive Friday .
How does it cope with the windows Nov update ?
Raikkon85
30 Nov 15#35
It's a present so I cannot start it up, but I had a peek in the box as there's not very much info, even on the back of the box! Looking at youtube reviews of the 800W gives me a little confidence that things will run okay. I like the fact that you can connect any device up and it should work! Shame there's no HDMI, if the device for me it probably would be a deal breaker, though the person it's for probably is not as fussed!
Raikkon85
30 Nov 15#36
There is no information about office 365 in the box, no activation card or the like? Can only assume its all either preinstalled or not included?

30 Nov 15#37
All i can find on staples site is - Word, Excel and PowerPoint Mobile requires Free download from Windows Store.....got me thinking a bit if i should return 1 of mine ( bought 2 ) and keep the - Windows Connect 9" Tablet, Intel Z3735G, 1GB RAM, 16GB - which will be arriving friday ( cost me nothing)

No hdmi is a deal breaker, Tesco deal is probably better with bigger screen and hdmi and there should be more support for it too out there including from Tesco.
Time to return it?

Only thing that lets Tesco one down is the 16 HD and 1gb of Ram ...but i do agree with the support as Point of View havent even got information about this one on the web site !!
