This seems a cracking deal right now looking at what's available. 8-inch IPS screen (1280 x 800 resolution w/ 188 pixels per inch) with Windows 10 Home ready to go out of the box.
32GB storage, 1GB RAM and an Intel Quad-Core CPU (Z3735F) with Intel HD Graphics. The 1GB may be an issue with Windows but at this price I'm not going to complain.
- Includes Microsoft Office one year subscription
- Features Word Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Excel Mobile and OneNote
- Includes Intel Security (McAfee)
◾Micro USB (Charge and Data)
◾4,000 mAh Battery (7hrs)
◾Micro USB (Charge and Data)
◾Expandable storage via microSD (up to 64GB)
◾10 Point Capacitive Multi-Touch Screen
◾Micro-HDMI Output
◾Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity
◾Front and Rear cameras (both 2MP)
◾Connects to Xbox Live

Not same brand but 2GB for £69.99 would be a better choice.
Windows does surprisingly well on 1GB but 2GB is far better.

Would this be a good one for a teenager-in-training to watch YouTube Minecraft videos and play endless random My Little Pony Apps, please, or does it mean apps will be a problem because it's Windows?

Just had a play with the entry level Kindle Fire.
Tis very good and well priced too. Lot's of versions to choose from too: Fire
I was reading that review I posted and I'd prefer to get this Linx one still even if it means spending £10 more. That Bush one weighs 610g.. Too heavy for a tablet only. This Linx is 377g and slimmer.
'referb Grade A' aka a return where the box will be slightly ripped from where the last people opened it.

had one for a year and it's surprisingly capable but at the same time the battery life is dire and swapping between programs results in frequent slowdowns/freezes (win10 gets this less than the preinstalled win8). With an uSB hub plugged into it's single micro usb slot i've managed to stream steam games over my home network to a tv via mini hdmi out with keyboard & mouse controls and it's got a decent screen great for puzzle or visual novel type games.
problem is there is a huge number of z3735 machines around these days for less than this and while i was most impressed by it's light weight and slim size they also match this, plus it was a tenner less last year (very).

I have the Linx 8 and love it. Its a bit frustrating with the odd lag when you're using it as a work machine, but it holds up well in a (code related) emergency.

Good point! I'd still want 2GB which can be achieved for around this kinda price. When the right deal turns up.
