OK, OK, I'll set the record straight before I start receiving hate mail
First off, to the best of my knowledge I have never purchased anything as a result of a post on HUKD with the sole purpose of flipping it on for a profit. The reality is that I have neither the time nor inclination to do this. That said if the saving was sufficiently large and the ease of selling not too taxing, I am not saying I wouldn't do it.
So to the picture, which was taken instore this morning as a result of my buying one 6ft 6in prelit tree, a tree not for myself but for one of the olds who had previously advised they weren't replacing their tired tree because they... Quote... "wouldn't get the good of it" ....
So ..... There I was this morning at approx. 11:45am in my local B&Q where the cashier told me my order was being processed. So I toddled off round the store for a bit and on my return there was a trolley full of tree's away to be put in the click and collect locker. Needless to say the temptation for a wind up was far, far too much for me to resist and to be honest, I was laughing taking the photo. Time and again these threads follow the same course, trolls post absurd claims and those buying to sell on keep very quiet. So you'll just have to excuse my sense of humour. :smirk:

Well pee'd off with B&Q (this was the 1st & last time I order Click & Collect with them) ...A staff member from my store left a phone message yesterday morning to say my order was there ready for collection. 5 hours later another message was left on my phone (I'd been at work so didn't listen to my messages till after my shift) anyway the second message was from a different staff member explaining that the women who phoned me this morning was a trainee? and got it wrong? My order wasn't ready it's been cancelled and I'd get a refund!
So I decided to pop into B&Q on my way home from work. They keyed in my order number, someone toddled off to the warehouse, came back empty handed. All apologetic (but not really bothered) I explained it was my first and last order online with B&Q he said he could "offer me a discount on any tree in store" to which I replied one reduced from £75 to £15?! He said ...Ermmmm no. I aired my views and walked out. Terrible Customer Service.

17 Dec 15#220
selling at £25 now so anyone who brought them for profit isn't really going to do that well, If it was brought for profit anyway its stupid because of January sales, you will have to store them somewhere for a year till around September as to make any kind of decent profit out of them. In my mind they are very decent but i am not sure i would have ever paid £50 let alone £97 for it. It is definitely a very good tree but needs lights to have any kind of impact which is essentially another £20 on top.

What exactly is the point of this post? I don't have an issue with members buying them to sell on for profit, it's common sense and I do it quite often. But posts like this are only made for 1 reason IMO; To cause trouble and annoy those who missed out on the deal.

Help people out? You bought 10 so you could sell them on Ebay?
I was trying to buy these all last night, got to the confirm order page when my payment was declined, basically because they had to just ran out. My thoughts: dam oh well unlucky, but then I see a post like yours and think how pathetic you have to be to do something like that.
But thanks for being in the Christmas spirit and let others get a £10 discount directly from you when they were actually £15... good job.

In many new builds you will struggle to stand a tree of this size up!

That's true - I measured our ceiling which I thought quite high (1960s house) and this only just fits. Newer houses could have lower ceilings. Ordered one, thanks OP.

I did say to hubs maybe I'll keep both, we currently have 3 trees up and the conservatory is looking a little sad without one and i'm not sold on the real tree we bought this year. Apparently i've gone mad

Brilliant deal. Went for the 7ft 6 in tree and getting delivered as probably a lot easier. The pre-lit tree looks thinner and complaints about glitter. Can add loads more decorations on this one.

Apart from being smaller and pre lit is the Meribel a nicer tree?

15 Dec 151#45
3% Quidco, ordered, but I'll wait and see if they cancel my order. It's what normally happens when I order a discounted item from B&Q.
Does anyone know why the Meribel pre lit deal was marked as spam?

15 Dec 152#33
Not sure, but the order wouldn't process for me. Rang them and ordered it over the phone though. £20 delivered for a pre-lit tree is a steal. Now, how to break it to the missus that her hard work at the weekend was a bit of a waste of time!

i thought this post was for the meribel one hence my earlier comment about spamming. It keeps appearing then getting expired I guess by part time dealers hoping to buy a few to flog on.
Or they just want a cheap tree!!

Hmmmmm ...... I am not convinced I'd go back to a tree that was not pre-lit or that was pre-decorated. I find lights a pain but we have numerous decorations that we really like and add to them year on year.

:smirk:

Merry Xmas
The family are loving it, as it looks great with a 400 light pack.
Can't believe that it was only £15. Thanks OP
I picked mine up this morning no issues  There was a big trolley full of them waiting for collection .
You need to upload the pic to a site like imgur or something like that, then when you reply to my comment click the "Picture" symbol and copy the link into there.

How do I post a pic?

I was trying to buy these all last night, got to the confirm order page when my payment was declined, basically because they had to just ran out. My thoughts: dam oh well unlucky, but then I see a post like yours and think how pathetic you have to be to do something like that.
But thanks for being in the Christmas spirit and let others get a £10 discount directly from you when they were actually £15... good job.
Mine still showing processing
I thought earlier when I tried that this could be a nice way of gathering marketing information - would be just my luck! No tree but a load of rubbish through the door and down the phone.
Can't order so I'm guessing OOS
Any idea if they get more in?
"Look at the size of that thing!".
Anyone else?
228cm
Diameter
154cm
Weight
10.8kg
Is this right... quite massive width wise
:disappointed:
Just worried being told no stock available
How is this gonna fit in my car
and this is what happens when you come too late to the party!!!!
Just tried again and the smaller one was back in stock so reserved as well, for choice. Thanks again op!
Wanted the 6' one but oos, hope the bigger one will fit
