Annoyed with the attitude of Nationwide Simply Rewards.
They are now saying....
"Having looked into this offer your transactions did not meet the qualifying criteria for cashback because the offer was not activated in your Simply Rewards portal."
As far I as remembered it was not an offer you activated (like some of the others), it was showing as "simply present your card for payment"..
Can anyone please confirm so I can go at them again...
Didn't get a reply following that, but yesterday received an automated email notifying me of cashback being paid and £7.50 went into my account today. Got there in the end. :man:

Put a complaint in on how long it's taking to resolve - use the words 'I want to express my dissatisfaction and formally complain' which should trigger that it's a complaint. If it's not resolved within 48 hours it should become a FCA reportable complaint which Nationwide will need to log and report, generally the financial companies want to avoid this so will usually try to resolve and give you a gesture of good will e.g. £10
Suspect the issue is that the rewards platform is managed by an outsourced team in Visa but Nationwide are ultimately accountable.

Same for me too. Bought 2 £15 Starbucks cards one after the other - one on CC I got the £7.50 cashback. The one on my debit card doesn't show up in my redemption history. Emailed them 4 days ago and not heard anything back so have emailed again today.
Transaction does say "Starbucks" followed by the location.

Duke of Westminster v Commissioners of Inland Revenue 19 TC 490:
‘Every man is entitled if he can to order his affairs so that the tax attaching under the appropriate Acts is less than it otherwise would be. If he succeeds in ordering them so as to secure this result, then, however unappreciative the Commissioners of Inland Revenue or his fellow tax-payers may be of his ingenuity, he cannot be compelled to pay an increased tax.’
While I do understand this sentiment, shouldn't we be blaming the politicians who are refusing to fix the tax code that actually allows companies to legally do this?

You don't need to activate this one. If it is in your offers then your registered card is already linked to the offer and you just need to make the purchase in a starbucks store using that card.
The free bakery item was a Starbucks emailed offer for certain existing Starbucks rewards holders (it's just a coincidence they use the term REWARDS for their scheme).

Just did this, thank you Chanch. Not sure if already posted, but...
The offer for the free drink when buying a giftcard (not sure if there's a minimum spend but £15 definitely works) is based on the card being activated. The staff in my branch weren't sure and had to check for offer codes - if you need to let them know it's code 222. I don't think my card has actually been activated though, they just had to enter the code in the till to take the cost of the drink off the bill so I only paid the £15 for the giftcard. Oh and they had a festive giftcard too, mention if you're giving it as a gift to get a card envelope for it too. Not my pic, but looks like....
