Well, whether it is a deal or not Aldi gets mention here - a surprisingly good and entirely free marketing for them. Regular as a clockwork even though we all know every week they will have some cheap offers. They still get plastered over here like some wow unusual deals. Does make me wander when I look at grocery pages about regularity with which Aldi and Lidl get mention here.

Used to shop in both from day one but getting wiser as they are sneaking in price hikes (Lidl for instance, by changing to a fancy packaging and offering same ham etc. I used to buy few years ago for 40-50% less), loads of water added to raw meat (and not stated on packaging) and clever wrapping/boxing that does not show what you got till you open it at home.
Weekly veg shop is still good and the whole chicken at Aldi is still probably the best tasting roast amongst all basic chickens available in supermarkets.

I got the leaflet through the post this morning. Can confirm in the small print it states only redeemable at St. George's way, Leicester.

Gosh Newbold:confused:, you are a bit harsh :smirk: though nothing wrong with “straight talking” tht I am rather partial to myself. Suppose you may be a bit more experienced here , though I have been watching even if I did not post a lot.
I would say many are "overexcited" or easily lead, to give the benefit of the doubt, but when you are beginning to see patterns of certain retailers being "over advertised" here it does make you wander as instead of “idiots” a very shrewd marketing may be taking place here - I mean the whole site, not necessary this particular post.

None here. And I have to say that Aldi raised prices across the board, so a discount is only appropriate.

And by the way - majority here could not find the deal so how did it get hot to over 400 !?

Picked up the usual weekly brochure (Special buys on the front and This Week's Fresh Offers on the back) - no vouchers at all. And it's the latest issue, showing on sale 13, 17 and 19 December on the front.

The store you picked yours up from is a new one, isn't it? It'll be a one-off aimed solely at that store, I'm guessing, and not available anywhere else.
