If anyone wants to know, I ordered on Saturday afternoon, got the dispatch email Monday night, then a text from DPD on Tuesday night saying it'll be delivered the next day, and finally at 8AM this morning got the the time window for delivery. All in all, no hiccups and good service.

Half of the 'deals' I get through this site end up costing me time or money. It's not worth it.

So the Flip 3 I ordered has died. HK want it sent to a local service agent at own cost, with warnings of being billed for the inspection etc. I guess this is the cost of not buying from Amazon or a regular UK retailer.

Shouldn't the warranty for a 2 month old item offer a new replacement rather than a repair?

I got mine, and i cant get any sound to come out of them, only static from the sub. Also, how do you plug both of the satellite speakers into the sub? there is only 1 input whereas it confirms in the instructions that you need to plug them into the input splitter? am i missing something?

Ive sent them an email saying they are knackered anyway

i have just received the soundsticks but can anybody help me,i know i am going to sound stupid but which socket on the soundcard do you plug the headphone socket lead into,my last speakers had pink,green,orange,black colour coded sockets which matched the lead plugs.

Received email from harman/kardon on saturday enquiring about my order,when i complained i have had no updates and my order still shows it being in the nederlands on the dpd website they looked into it and replied sunday saying i would receive it either today or tomorrow and i am happy to say it has just turned up and is the genuine article.

Also received a text yesterday saying it'll be delivered on the 4th.

I put my work phone as my contact and haven't been in work for the last two week, left charger in my office so it's unknown whether I have received a similar message or not. However according to tracking, as of early hours of Sunday morning - still in Netherlands. Now 1 hour short of 2 weeks after I ordered it

I emailed Harman last week querying the speakers, they said they'll arrive sometime early in the week (this was last week). Just had a text it'll arrive on the 4th.

I'm in no rush for them but Harman CS is not that great to be honest.

Just had a text from DPD saying my order will be delivered 4th Jan. Better late than never I suppose, not the best experience though.

My JBL Go was shipped on the 24th. Still haven't received it nor do I have a tracking number. Payment was taken from PayPal 2 days ago. Thankfully I'm not in a rush for it!

Would love to know how they plan on getting it to me on Monday if it's still in transit from the Netherlands. My money got taken out of my account last night, definitely putting in a complaint to both companies if it doesn't arrive by Monday, to me it doesn't make a difference if the products cost 6, 60 or 600 pounds, you expect them to be delivered when they say, and it's now taken almost two weeks.

Paid with paypal so can always put in a dispute.

After initially sympathising with them over the rush of orders, I now think it's pretty poor form that I ordered something on the 20th and I won't receive it until at least the 4th. I would rather have spent the extra and got the speakers from Amazon next day.

I have had this problem before with Amazon, where it shows shipped by DPD when in fact nothing has been shipped and they class it as a technical error

H.K. is pointing the finger at DPD. The email I got:

According to the tracking page mentioned above, however, there is no update about the shipment since the 23rd so we asked DPD what was causing the delay. Their reply has been copied below:
"Due to a mistake, a trailer to the UK was not unloaded in time. We were just now informed that the depot in the UK will not be able to unload the trailer in time for delivery tomorrow. The parcels in that trailer will go out for delivery on Tuesday. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience."
DPD will attempt to deliver a part of the orders tomorrow (the 31st of December) but they cannot guarantee that it will be possible for all orders to be shipped before New Year's.

You're completely right the price isnt to be moaned at but I would expect some moment from a shipping confirmation within 6 days, Xmas or no Xmas

I ordered a pair of AKG K545 headphones via the German website (drop down menu top left) 3 days ago. I put in my usual UK home address but had to enter a german zipcode to make it process the order. They arrived today. Paid only 59.99 Euro using the code which is approx £44. Showing as £199.99 on UK site. Cracking earphones. Thanks OP for saving me loads at Xmas.

Can't get a peep out of my Soundsticks III, tried ipod, Samsung s5, laptop. Nothing.
The light is on on the subwoofer, tried muting/unmuting on right speaker but radio silence. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting all cables. Even tried the euro plug.

Very well balanced sound. Just right amount of bass. Superb build quality (+ Braided cables). Built-in volume controller and mic work perfectly with Galaxy S6.

Ordered Sat eve, received shipping email last night.

Well, I've got my N20s now. Ridiculously good sound quality, and not lacking in bass which I was worried about (since they're reference class). It's an odd fitment to my ears though, so time will tell how comfortable they are!

Just got the 'your item is out for delivery' text from dpd, so that's some fairly impressive turnaround.

It seems mine arrived to DPD delivery depot. I got a massage with delivery notification. Initially thought it's about Bodyshop parcel I'm expecting delivery through DPD, but this item have different tracking no.

I've just 'phoned and been told that my soundsticks will be despatched today (I didn't order until Sunday afternoon) but they can't guarantee they'll be received before Xmas. They are sent on a 2-4 working days service from tulipland. I asked about tracking and the (very polite) lady informed me that she will flag up my order to send tracking info when it is actually despatched.

She said she really hoped I would receive them in time and if not happy with them they can be returned free of charge within 30 days.

DPD shipping from the Netherlands is really quick. I've ordered on an afternoon before and had my parcel the next day. We may get our orders in time yet (fingers tightly crossed).

The bottom line is they are mugging people off on the Exchange rate. These will all be shipped from Holland etc because of the recent weakness of the Euro vs Sterling. You lot have all paid them in Sterling. They craftily put up a UK address which is very misleading.

Well for me.. the deal was good ... a flip 3 for £41.99 instead of £49.99 at currys. So an £8 saving on cheapest UK price... and I don't have to deal with Currys.

I got what you were trying to say, but you're wrong.

Firstly: comparing a multi-part audio setup involving used bookshelf speakers, to a packaged computer speaker set, is ridiculous. And at that price range, it wouldn't be much better than the Soundsticks anyway.

Comparing active monitors like Mackie (I'll assume you're talking about the CR4's) is also ridiculous - they are not entertainment speakers. I own CR4's and they are great for accurate sound, but I prefer the Soundsticks for watching films or playing games. They are different types of speakers.

All of which is ignoring the issue of space: a subwoofer sits below a desk, the only space concern is with the speakers themselves. The CR4's are fairly small and they still took up a lot of space on my desk. The Soundsticks are unobtrusive.

TL;DR, If you have space for bookshelf speakers, they're a perfectly good option. But they are not an objectively better option than a decent set of computer speakers, if that's what you're using them for.

I do not think you quite understood what I'm trying to say. At £100 I would not advise anyone to buy the Soundsticks as there better setups to be had at that price range, now at £60 it can be justifiable for aesthetic alone since the sound quality is still good for that price.

The reason why I advocate bookshelf speakers since they are known for their good sound quality, and for a computer setup you can literally use anything from a 2.0 setup to 7.1 setup. A budget setup would be a cheap amp Lepai 2020A £20/SMSL SA50 £50 and some on sale/used bookshelf speakers for £20-50, obviously used with good quality speaker cable £5-10. So in total this cheap setup which ranges from £50-100 and will absolutely be better than any computer speakers out there for that price range. I mean if you cannot be bothered with that setup you can just get any active monitors, Mackie/M-Audio/etc, around that price and still be better than any price-comparable package computer speakers.

And since we're talking about the Soundsticks which has subwoofer, I'm assuming you can spare a little space for bookshelf speakers - I mean you can literally put them up on new shelf if you do not have the space on the desk, and bookshelf speakers do come in all sizes so you might not need to do even that.

You just plug it in via the audio in socket, then go to the setup website and follow the instructions. better sound and connectivity than bluetooth and you can use multiple chromecasts with different speakers so you can have the same music throughout the house. Basically it turns your existing speakers into a sonos set up

SoundSticks III at £60 are a bargain.

Before discount, it made no sense to go for these rather than a cheap bookshelf speaker setup. But at this price it's a great deal, I can use it in the meantime while still looking out for a good pair of bookshelf speakers to buy.

I've been looking at the sound sticks III for a long time as a replacement for some broken Panasonic speakers I have plugged to my PC, but the price always made me reconsider... For £60 there's no excuse :smiley:

I'm still wondering if the Nova are the best choice. Perhaps I should just get the Soundstick wireless.
Or even Soundstick III + bluetooth receiver as mentioned.

Or two Onmi 10s, Soundstick Wireless are £107, 2 x Omni 10s are £120, and Nova are £90, so all pretty similar price.
Thinking Omni 10s will have better bass response than the Nova. And Nova don't feature AptX, but Omni 10 can use Wifi etc.

The soundsticks are far more about looks than sound quality unfortunately. My ancient active Wharfdale Diamond 7s sound a hundred times better, but they look like ancient old Wharfdales.

Yikes, just went for it, got the Nova. Actually saw these before. The auto bluetooth pairing - with noise, and perhaps lack of a sub are off putting. But they can be used like computer speakers, nicely with a laptop, tv I imagine, and as a stereo with your phone etc. Like a cross between the soundsticks and the Omni 10.

But the discount is staggering!

Was thinking of buying the Flip 2 speaker. But reading the reviews has really put me off. Looks like its prone to failing and doesn't last long.

Soundsticks for £60 is a good buy. But they are hugely overrated speakers. Good desktop speakers for a computer. But not a patch on a dedicated sound system.

I'm tempted to order something but they seem to have quality control issues and complaints of poor customer service... but the prices are good hmm...

£69.99 rrp is a bit misleading for flip 3 since they can be had from currys for £49.99 and you can get that price down with tcb/codes/zeek.

Wireless soundsticks look tempting at that price but easier to justify £60 for the wired version seeing as before I saw the post I didn't know I needed them! ;-)

I am no apple fan but I have to admire Jonny Ives for how his iconic design of the soundsticks has stood the test of time. Factor in the exceptional sound quality and it's an absolute bargain. A pleasure to own.

It certainly looks that way. The specs look identical from the website, bar the lack of AirPlay.

What's the different between the aura and the aura studio? Is it mainly the AirPlay feature? Can't find much about the "studio" version and it's £150 more.

Thx OP heated .Bought the Anker on a deal from this site recently. But the volume up button stopped working on the 3rd use and the max volume when it was working was very quiet - has anyone had experince of the Anker does it have a built in amplifier or not? assume not?
Anyway i'm returning the Anker and have bought the flip2 - just hope the flip has some sort of inbuilt amp to raise the volume on my ridiculously quiet Ipod with EU volume limit.

N.B have old version of soundsticks which have been brilliant - great sound quality and loud!

Good prices all around. Tempted by the OMNI 10, but reviews are fairly poor (with regards to pairing).

Edit: Though, that seems mostly focussed around the app. It also has bluetooth and aux.

I always found the soundsticks too quiet, that said they were the v1 ones, won't be trying again

Mine started to fall apart after a year and a half or so, 3 years in and the audio jack is faulty so when it moves it crackles, the sound quality is great tho. A steal at this price.

I don't think you guys will be disappointed with the soundsticks, I am listening to mine now via Spotify..:man: All my visitors always comment on how cool they look.
